Hey there!
Do you own a Sony RX100 camera? Do you have any photos you want to showcase? Do you want to talk with other RX100 owners? Do you like inane rhetorical questions?
If you answered yes to any of those questions, then you've come to the right place! Make yourself at home...we'll try not to bite.

I want a digital point and shoot to round out my collection [iPhone, Fuji X-T3, Canon 5D mk III]. I want a solid little every day/street-shooter *with* zoom for when I'm on the trails. I've spent more time than I'd care to admit combing threads, chatting with B&H, and reading/watching reviews, I was ready to pull the trigger on the RX100, and now I'm having second thoughts in regards to durability.
I'm backpacking the Lost Coast Trail in a few weeks, and if I was buying a camera just for that trip, I'd get the Olympus TG-7. But I know I'd still want everything else the RX100 offers, especially exposure control and that bulb setting. Help! Would it be completely insane to bring the RX100 on a 25-mile beach hike? Or just a little bit insane? I can do anything that's a little bit insane. RX100 users, do you just avoid beachy/dusty areas at all costs?
Non-negotiable features I'm interested in:
I suppose battery life and durability should be at the top of that list, but I'm a photographer first and a backpacker second ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Pics or it didn't happen, ya know??
Also on my radar were the Panasonic Lumix ZS100 (also saw issues with dust/durability) and the Canon G7 (unavailable). Anything else I'm missing?
My GR died and I decided to give the RX100va a try. I've had other retractable lens cameras in the past and I know lens/sensor dust is a nightmare, especially because I live in a dusty area and I use my pocket camera as a pocket camera. I found the JJC cover for the GR and it was excellent at keeping the entire lens assembly clean. I was hoping they made something similar for the RX100 but I can't find anything. Does anyone make a similar style cap that keeps the entire lens assembly covered when the camera is not in use?
And no, I don't want a camera bag no matter how small it is. It completely ruins the quick use and portability.
Im having trouble undertaking flash trigger device when used for interval shooting. When I use interval shooting the built in flash on my rxm7 is automatically disabled so I was wondering if do I need to buy a flash trigger device or an external flash and if I bought the external flash would it work? I just bought an intervalometer from amazon and it works triggering y both in flash when I’m using interval shooting. But I was hoping to maybe buy a wireless flash trigger. Please advice. Thanks.
Does anybody here own this Ulanzi mini flash? Does this work using the interval shooting mode like how an intervalometer work? And then does this also work like a flashlight for video or just flash?
Very torn!
Could we get a flair on here for SOOC (strait out of camera) or Post-Processed when posting original content? I think it would really help when looking at what can and can’t be done with the camera exclusively.
I have a broken dial on a Sony rx100 iii. When camera is on the mode dial jumps to different modes. Has anyone ran into this problem?
I just recently got the M7 and really excited to use it for an upcoming trip. Curious who are come creators you learned how to best use the camera from?
I’m thinking of selling my iPhone 15 Pro Max for a Sony RX100 VII. I originally bought my iphone for the ProMax feature when taking pictures, but I think i havent fully utilized it.
I do have a iPhone 13 Pro that I could use, which originally thought of selling.
Colors, RAW Files, Output, Would you think the RX100 VII is worth getting over the iPhone15 Pro Max?
I am helping set up for a DIY wedding and have a RX100M5A that will be used for an unmanned photo booth. Want to set this up in a ring light with a remote shutter but what would be the most simple way? I have a laptop with capture one and both an android tablet and iPad.
Is it possible to have an external monitor so the guests can see themselves for the camera?
is this a good deal? secondhand but like new
pls advise ty
If so, how’s your set up?
Hi there! Figured I'd post on here. Been using an Mk II and I'm looking for something with the faster lens - anyone looking to sell? thanks!
Anyone knows how to tell what picture profile my pictures were shot in? They dont show up on the exif menu
I've been using the RX100VII for about two years and absolutely love it. Originally purchased for vacations, it has excelled on my last five trips. The battery life is fantastic, the settings are intuitive and work flawlessly—no nonsense. It's ten times better than the camera on my iPhone 14 Pro Max. Naturally, there are some limitations, especially noticeable with distance shots, which leads me to wonder what's beyond this camera. I bought it for $1,299 at launch, and considering inflation, I'm now looking in the $2,000 range for an upgrade. However, in my research, there doesn't seem to be a "next level" in the point-and-shoot category. It looks like I'd need to move into DSLR or cameras with interchangeable lenses, which I'm hesitant about because I value mobility and don't want to carry more than a few batteries. I'm a fan of Sony and their partnership with Zeiss lenses (I work in ophthalmology, where their equipment is the gold standard), but I'm considering the Nikon Z fc, though I'm not entirely convinced. Does anyone have any recommendations?
Is there a way to pop the built in flash while using the interval shooting? Or is there another way to do a timed shooting interval using a flash?
How do I set the M7 to keep taking pics every let’s say 2 seconds using the flash?
I have a Sony a7cii with a full set of lenses, however I do feel the urge to get a second hand RX100VII for concerts and to simply have with me at all times (since it's definitely in a different size league from the a7c even with any pancake lens).
Does this make sense, or is it just GAS? Am I the only one?
