Ruby + Weiss = Ice flower Ruby + Blake = Lady Bug Ruby + Yang = ??? (I call it Sunflower) Weiss + Blake = Checkmate Weiss + Yang = Freezer Burn Blake + Yang = Bumblebee

So, I’ve been having trouble finding a semblance that fits the leader of my oc team, Makka for a while. Initially, I wanted it to be based off gravity, mass/volume change, stuff like that, but i ended up scraping it and giving her gravity dust weapons for the same effect.

I asked on here a while back for ideas, and a lot of people recommended semblances based on her allusion the red string of fate, and now i have an idea, but I’m not sure how well balanced or plausible it is—

Basically, Makka has always had a very strong intuition and I’m thinking of turning that into her semblance but with a twist: her semblance is actually a form of future sight that guides her decisions— but to everyone else (and even her) it just seems like her semblance gives her good instincts

what are your guys thoughts on it? and what should i name it because i’m kind of blanking 🤔

Side Story: Punchies

"Ha!" Brynn the bear bellowed as she threw a series of fast-paced jabs at her sparring partner, throwing left and right punches at Nishida, who casually deflected her attacks.

It was evening at her home. Her parents were away, so she decided to do some light training to improve her style.

"Again!" Nishida shouted.

Brynn picked up the pace, speeding up her jabs while Nishida deflected each one, diverting them in opposite directions.

She soon sidestepped and attempted a right hook at the blue ninja, but Nishida was faster, easily deflecting her attack before taking a single step forward toward the polar bear Faunus.

"Whoa!" Brynn yelped, surprised and caught off guard as she fell down onto her rear from Nishida's sudden move.

Nishida sighed. "Your punches are easy to telegraph. That surprise attack was predictable, and your footwork and stance aren't strong enough," he pointed out, crossing his arms as he assessed their sparring session.

Wincing in pain, Brynn got up, rubbing her sore backside. "That bad?" she asked, and Nishida responded with a nod, uncrossing his arms.

"Darn," she said, a hint of frustration in her tone.

"That’s not all," he continued. "While you have a strong punch, your precision isn’t great. You kept aiming for me, but I could easily deflect your punches. Yes, you have speed, but your aim needs work. And you’re not moving enough—during those jabs, you were standing still. Try practicing footwork too," Nishida suggested as he slicked his hair back.

"That's a lot of work, but no pain, no gain, right?" she replied with a bright smile.

Nishida rolled his eyes, a faint blush appearing on his cheeks. "Yeah, well, no tempura for you until you find a way to fix those issues, you shrimp brain," he teased.

"Did you just call me dumb?!" Brynn shouted comically at him, while Nishida leaned back, covering his smirk with his hand.

"No."

"Oh."

"You called yourself dumb, not me," Nishida said, a mischievous glint in his eyes.

Brynn clenched her fist, annoyed. "Oh, you're dead to me, Night."

"Oops, look at that—my tempura is done," he said with a smug grin, vanishing into the shadows with his semblance as he darted back inside the house.

"Oh no, you're not taking all the tempura, you hear me?!" Brynn shouted, rushing inside and practically busting down the door as she chased after the blue tempura ninja of her life.

Holly was born into poverty and a less than loving household. She emotionally abused ever since she was a child by her mother and was never shown an ounce of affection from her father. At one point her Mother tried to poison her but she miraculously survived but during so Holly broke mentally and developed her semblance that being a type of dissociative identity disorder that creates a new personality that deals with tasks she normally can’t do and to copy others fighting techniques. Upon awakening her semblance she killed both of her parents for their years of abuse she then fled and joined an organisation called Ruin (I’ll talk about them in a later post) who she decides to call her real family. The Original Holly is still a gentle and meek girl but is unable to resist her other personalities taking over. The second personality that resides in Holly is based off of her mother who while speaks in a nurturing manner is cold, unfeeling and sadistic.

She is based off of Doctor Jekyll and Mr Hyde Yeeaaah I definitely went a little dark on this one.

Age: Early 20s Faunus Traits: Bear ears Nicknames: Face Breaker, Mountain Buster, Bry, and Bryla

Backstory: Born in Mantle but raised in Vale, Brynn's family moved out of Mantle seeking better opportunities in Vale for a chance at a better life. Mantle's limited opportunities for Faunus prompted the move. Brynn grew up in a household deeply rooted in the boxing world. Her mother was a formidable boxer, and her father, once her mother's coach, is now a skilled mechanic. Her mother, now a local hair stylist, continued to instill the love of boxing in Brynn.

Brynn spent her early years watching her mother train, soaking up every technique, strategy, and ounce of dedication her mother poured into the sport. Brynn's dream is to open her own gym and become one of the best boxers in Vale, aspiring to follow in her mother's footsteps.

Personality: Brynn exudes an unwavering optimism, believing that with relentless effort and hard work, she can achieve her dreams. A training fanatic, she adheres to a strict regimen daily, ensuring she is always at the peak of physical fitness. In a fight, she never backs down, facing challenges head-on with unwavering determination.

While she is generally calm and balanced, Brynn is also known to be a bit of a klutz. She might trip over her own feet during training or accidentally knock over objects in her enthusiasm. Despite this, she takes it all in stride, laughing at herself and carrying on with her goals but there are times she is laid back and often lays around relaxing and taking things slow.

Her mischievous side often manifests in playful pranks or harmless jokes with friends and training partners. She enjoys keeping things light-hearted, injecting humor into even the most intense training sessions.

Weapon:Dual shield Gauntlet "Snow Bunker"

Brynn wields a Shield Gauntlet known as "Snow Bunker." The Snow Bunker is a Dual specialized gauntlets with a unique piston mechanism. This mechanism allows Brynn to unleash either dust-based attacks or stored up kinetic energy. When the stored energy is released, it manifests as a powerful force of impact, capable of shattering obstacles or delivering devastating blows to opponents.

The primary function of the Snow Bunker, however, is its defensive capabilities. With a simple gesture, Brynn can deploy a protective hardlight shield from the gauntlets. The shield is sturdy and resilient, capable of withstanding powerful attacks and providing a safe haven for Brynn and her allies.

The shield can be adjusted in size and shape, allowing Brynn to create barriers to protect herself and others, deflect incoming projectiles, or even create temporary cover during battles. The Snow Bunker's shield is a versatile tool that complements Brynn's defensive fighting style, allowing her to stand firm against any opponent.

Semblance: Tyrant Breaker Brynn possesses the Semblance of "Tyrant Breaker," granting her the ability to manipulate her own density at will. This ability provides her with a wide range of advantages in combat:

Featherlight Form: Brynn can decrease her density to become as light as a feather, allowing for swift, agile movements and the ability to float gently down from heights.

Mountain Buster: By increasing her density, Brynn can become incredibly heavy, allowing her to deliver bone-shattering blows and shatter obstacles upon impact.

Impact Absorption: When facing physical attacks, Brynn can increase her density to become more solid, absorbing the force of blows and reducing damage.

Going backwards but working towards making a transforming weapon.Though I want to look at some more examples of rifle based weapons in Rwby verse. Any missing off top of head like CRose, Miló and May Zedongs sniper? Any fan works too if good reference for design of rifle.

Trying to figure out the rigid parts and so far seems like based off advice got before that Ammo feeder and base of barrel are rigid parts. Though probably want a stock and mag stationary as well depending on type right?

Wanted to get this done in time for the holiday, so the colors and shading are simple.

Surprised that this isn't a thing in the subreddit yet. I figured it would be practical so why not?

Ruby's birthday is on Halloween. What would your OCs give her?

To answer my own question, most of mine would make her cookies or a cake and/or give her upgrades to Crescent Rose.

Meet Tombi Aurelia, Sky W. Thalos, and Midori Armstrong

These 3 are leaders of their respective teams

Tombi Aurelia is the leader of team TNGR (Tangerine) and She's a Cheetah Faunus (Tail) She's the 2nd sister of the Graywolf Family and loves to challenge anyone in terms of speed

Sky W. Thalos is Niko's Older sister who leads team SEKR (Seeker) and she's often known as "Skywarp" due to her Semblance, being able to teleport teams in and out of dangerous zones

Midori is the 8th sister of the Graywolf Family and she's a Tanuki Faunus (Tail) who loves playing pranks on her brother Jackson, and her other siblings like Tombi, on the other hand, she's known to be very sneaky often hiding in places no one would except thanks to her Semblance, Tanuki-ception She's the leader of team MNTI (Minty) who are a bunch of 1st years who entered Beacon at the time as RWBY, CRDL, and JNPR

Hi, I’m making a RWBY AU That’ll have original characters and storylines alongside updated versions of base RWBY’s story and there’s gonna be a villain based off of Don Quixote and I’m having some trouble thinking of a semblance for him, any ideas?

At this point in time, I’ve realized That the story I’m writing does change a decent amount for it to just be considered a AU. So, I wanted to bounce an idea that was in the Back of my head off people

The idea is That There is a way for Aura’s to become corrupted due to brief Exposure to the tar like Substance used to make Grimm. And I mean BRIEF, Can’t be covered in it or You get torn apart but if your foot is dipped or Submerged in it for at most a minute, The substance Latches onto your aura like a parasite and, Inverses Its Uses, So to speak.

• Healing is no longer done by speeding up the mending Process, Instead it replaces That Wound With the Grimm like substance. Even if this function is not used, The Grimm like Substance slowly Corrupts the body and Weakens it.

• If the user Had their semblance Active, It may inverse Its uses if your lucky(Say Ones semblance was to Accelerate an Objects speed, The inverse would make it go in reverse.), Otherwise it just makes your semblance unaccessible.

• The aura actively works against who it’s affected, So it Will At best Very lightly Protect the human Body, but will enforce protection on the parts of you that are already apart Grimm.

• Aura no longer comes Back Normally, Instead it Comes back via taking Others aura forcefully, And the Corrupted aura is VERY Insistent on taking People’s aura if you so much as

• Once your body does succumb to the Corrupted aura, You Lose sense of Yourself and any sense of your humanity, You become a Humaniod Grimm, Walking Zombie Grimm If that’s helps you image it. However, If one’s Aura Is Strong or has a surplus of it(Say, Jaune’s for Example), They Will Still lose sense of yourself, But Will be a sentient Grimm hell bent on Destroying Humanity.

• The Corrupted Aura does partly stick around After Becoming a Zombie(Sentient or not), Mostly in the use of Stealing another’s aura and Rapid Missing “Skin” Replacement.

• It is Very evident When someone’s aura Is corrupted, As When it’s visible, There will be Black splotches attached to the Aura.

I don’t know if I covered all the bases That I had for the idea (It’s like navigating a maze with how often my thoughts switch), But feedback is nice or Anything Else for it.

Is it possible for my OC to have a semblance that basically allows him to wield video games as weapons?
btw, this is heavily inspired by kamen rider ex aid.

The idea i have is that my OC loves video games, and his semblance allows him to create an aura construct by 'scanning' whatever game he is currently holding. so:
a fighting game would give him a giant robot arm construct.
a shooting game would give him a shooting UI around his eyes.
a jet dogfight game would either give him a backpack construct with wings and machine guns.
an rpg game would give him a cool sword.
and so on and so forth...

each game, held in a small cassette or cartridge shaped device, will hold the code for the game while being easy to carry and access. they will also have specific Dust types based on what the game is about.

would this work as a semblance? this is just me brainstorming, so i haven't really written a lot about it.

His semblance acts like Fiona Thyme's; an inventory semblance, but he gets an actual game-like UI screen. For weapons, he could normally use a sword but also create support bots in his free time that transform into support weapons.

I love Bungou Stray dogs and Fyodor is one of my favourite characters and I really wanted to make a RWBY styled version of him but I’m not exactly sure what kind of semblance to give him since his ability in bsd is a little too broken. I’m also unsure on what weapon to give him either but am thinking of maybe having it represent crime and punishment in some way.

Xanthas is a Blue-ringed octopus faunus and an Allusion to Hastur, The King In Yellow. His semblance is called The Yellow Sign, which allows his shadow to eat through dying bodies of Grimm and store them, then spit them back out later for a single attack before they fade away.
