2007 jayvo jay flight furnace not working

Anyone know what might be wrong with my jayco jay flight furnace? I can get the furnace to boot on for a few seconds, only blowing like warm air. Then it shuts off.

The propane tanks are full and we can run the stove np.

This is my first trailer-- any help is welcome!

Future options help

I have a 4runner and it can barely tow shit. Question is, would it be better to tow a light 2k teardrop t@b320 ($20-$25k) with it or wait and trade in for a f150 to tow a forest river geo pro 19fbs ($20)?

We'd only be using the travel trailer like 6-8x a year, mostly on weekends here in flat Wisconsin.

I'd of course get all the towing options added to my 4runner, oh yea it's a 2015 trail premium with 63k miles.

RV consignment in New England?

Can anyone recommend a good RV consignment place, we are currently traveling between Maine and Rhode Island but anywhere even close is fine. We are finally selling our 2018 travel trailer, after many happy years living and traveling. Mint condition, new tires, remodeled interior as a work from home, I dont think it will be hard to sell. I'm just not really looking to deal with all the Craigslist scam calls, and I nuked my Facebook a few years back. Would rather maybe make a little less money on the sale and have someone else handle it. Anyone bought or sold recently? Thanks in advance!

Small/compact/ or less than 7 ft type campers... suggestions?

We went to an RV show... we have been researching for over a year.

Initially we started BIG 😂 and that's sense paired down to a size listed in the heading. ..

I've researched NuCamp. InTech. And their construction seems amazing.

We have looked at the Tag and the Flyer. Both have our basic needs...For context.. we are car camping right now. ..

So we don't want to invest in slightly bigger for finance reasons. And for storage. My hubs will be retiring in about 6-7 yrs and we would upgrade around then.

I've also seen My LITTLE Camper guy... but it appears to have gone out of business?

Anyone have any other suggestions? No pop-ups. That's been decided we don't want.

NEEDS a kitchenette. Basics for heat and ac.

Basics for water needs. I have an outdoor toilet system so not worried.

I've doing a ton of research but figured ppl here might have had some experiences with a small or compact Travel Trailer.

THANK YOU!

Black tank sensors and salt water question.

Ok probably a dumb question but I’m wondering if a periodic flush of dissolved salt in water would aid tank sensors. Salt water conducts electricity far better than fresh water.

Motorhome Quality

I’ve had 3 motorhomes. 2 early 2000s class As built on the ford chassis with v10 engine. Most recent was 2014 prism class c on sprinter 3500 chassis. I sold the prism when the world went crazy and people were paying way too much for used campers. I am looking to get another motorhome. I don’t want another sprinter due to the cost of maintaining the Mercedes. I like the idea of something on the transit chassis with a gas engine. Anyone have any experience that drivetrain? Also, with brand camper is known for decent quality?

Dumb question of the day… about the water pump.

Brand new to RVing so lots more of these in my head.

If you’re hooked up to fresh water, like my spigot at my house, do I need the water pump to circulate the water? Is the water pump only used for circulating the fresh water tank water?

Small-ish fifth wheel with lots of exterior storage?

Looking for a small/medium (ideally < 35') fifth wheel with big exterior storage. Saw the Grand Design Influence 2903RL and really liked everything about it except the passthrough storage was a bit marginal (and it was a lil spendy). I would like a passthrough big enough to store all my tall FXW dog fencing, griddle, canopies, things like that. I also saw the Palomino River Ranch 391MK and that blew me away on exterior storage but not a huge fan of the decor. Still looking to see if there are any options I am missing. Any ideas? Thanks!

Trip ideas for mom

My mom always dreamed of doing an RV style trip around nature.

She's in her 70s now and can still get around, but can't really do any major hiking/etc.

Based out of Chicago, but I'd like to help her plan a trip.

Does anyone have ideas for maybe a 2-3 week trip somewhere to explore some parks and nature? I'm thinking she could fly to the pacific northwest or maybe around wyoming or something.

RV costs are pretty high of course though so also looking at ways to make this affordable if possible. As an alternative a rental sleeper transit van of sorts could possibly make sense as well.

I'm guessing fall or spring would be the best time of year to avoid excessive heat for sleeping or cold temps for walking around.

Big RVs that aren't essentially just nice homes. Read more to understand.

So I'm looking if there exists a large or medium sized RV that isn't essentially a home that fits like 4 people so as an example my family is big 9 kids and 2 parents and I'm essentially looking for a nice RV that would just have more beds than 2 because I noticed they make big ones to maximise like kitchen areas and so on only to have 1 queen sized bed and one on the eating table usually like I wondered if there are ones meant for big families like with bunk beds or something like that. I know this may be a difficult one and I'm sorry in advance as I don't know anything much about RVs

Am I the only one who’s not verified the 5th wheel hitch was not engaged properly before leaving the RV park?

I’m not sure why I’m posting this. Probably because I’m felling kind of o horrible.

Recently took our first long trip with the RV. Everything was mostly great until we were getting ready to leave the last RV park. He backed up the truck and it and (at least to me) the hitch sounded like it engaged. I didn’t visually check it though. Upon pulling out of our space the RV fell onto the bed of the truck damaging the tail gate. We were able to use the jacks to raise the 5th wheel enough to re-attach to the hitch and we went on our merry way.

I suppose I’m the AH because I didn’t verify the connection before we pulled out. My only consolation is that it happened on the park and not on the road way. I will add that I was trying to do several things in a short period of time before we left. i.e. dump the tanks and all the other checklist items before we left and was distracted when we hitched the first time.

I’m thinking that the RV life isn’t for me.

Edit: A big thank you to all that have responded. All of your valuable stories will be taken to heart. I’m still numb from the incident, but we did make it home safely and without another incident.

You all are good people.

Finding the perfect travel trailer

Camp trailers with back windows.

Hi! My husband and I are considering buying a camp trailer with my daughter and her husband. There are “non-negotiables” for each of us, and I can’t seem to find “the one” that fits our budget (inexpensive but durable) and needs. Can anyone help with suggestions?

  1. Daughter wants BIG back window.
  2. Husband wants recliners or a couch (somewhere to sit besides in a dinette or on the bed) and a comfy walk around bed.
  3. The capability to sleep 4 comfortably.

We don’t want bunk beds floor plans, we feel we wouldn’t use it much (daughter and hubby are bigger people, my hubby and I are older and need comfy). Any suggestions on what brands of trailers to look for?

Campsite 30A outlet to charge portable power station

There is a campsite with a 30a outlet. Can I use it to charge the portable power station? If I need to buy an adapter to make it work, what kind it should be?

According to the power station manual, it accepts AC Input Voltage of 120V~12A Max, 60hz. I can charge it just fine in my home standard outlet, not sure if it will work at a campsite with 30a outlet. I have also found on shops RV Electrical Adapter for 30A Male to 15A Female - not sure if it is needed.

Question about insulation

As we are looking at two-person travel trailer options for long road trips, including in places like Maine in the winter, it is hard to see which companies make actually well insulated products (including good windows). Are Airstream good (the aluminum makes me nervous)?

Furion cams and monitor quality.

Anyone like the Furion side and rear view cams and monitor? Short story: We purchased a 5th wheel last December but the monitor for the cams was missing. I finally found one for a REASONABLE price on Market place. First trip with it and the video quality is very unsatisfactory considering how much they cost. Using 20 year old tech and charging exorbitant prices for crappy quality is, well, just crap.

Are there any other video monitoring products out there that are made with more recent tech for a reasonable cost?

TIA.

2012 Keystone Raptor

Hello, I am looking for somebody out there with a keystone Raptor 5th wheel. I made a mistake a while back and had to pull new wires from a junction box down to my Onan generator. Now today I made a mistake and I messed up my labeling process to reconnect the wires to the proper connections. I would rather try not to put it In The shop. Anyone out there with a 2012 Raptor that is willing to help me out?

We want to buy an RV to do more off road/boobdock...what are your MUST haves in an RV?

We are shopping and researching. My bestie is an avid camper and has told us a lot if things we didn't think about...

Such as a converter so the fridge can operate on Propane and electricity...

She mentioned the undercarriage and how a friend had something kick up and put a hole in the bottom..

Looking for any and all suggestions for those who regularly go into more remote locations 🙏 thanks in advance!

Cost Of Car Ceramic Coating

Hey everyone,

I know I need a ceramic coating for my car but I simply want to have the general cost figured out. It is a little tricky as I noticed that prices are different at all places.
For those of you who've had it done, what did you pay and what factors influenced the cost? Does the price vary significantly based on the type of car or the specific product used?

Thanks in advance!
