I'm having an issue with the weapon wheel. I'm on a Rog Ally. when I hold down the weapon wheel/grenade button, the wheel pops up, but when I move the right stick to choose a weapon the game thinks I'm just looking around. I can only use the switchh to last weapon button. I've looked in the settings, and can't find anything. my Ally is in gamepad mode. Anyone got a fix for this, Thank you.

Hey all, I'm looking into potentially grabbing the ROG Ally X and use it as my main PC. I am currently using Shadow PC, but would like to get away from the subscription model. I would buy a dock and monitor for it. I'm assuming I could get this all for around $1k.

I'll mainly be playing games like Orcs Must Die 3, and Deathtrap on release, Halo: Infinite and Master Chief collection, Skyrim, Counter Strike, etc. Not many AAA games. I'd also use it for basic web browsing, Netflix, Google docs.

Should I go this route, or wait 6+ months and save up around $2k for a custom build and monitors? Thanks for the advice and input!

Does anybody else have performance issues with this game? I tried setting a lower resolution (720p) FSR 3 and FrameGen but it still performs badly.

Just beat Psychonaughts 2 and MGR Revengence. Both good, just not really my jam. Going to take my time with Ragnarok, but interested in learning more about good titles on game pass. Also, looking for recommendations on bullet-hell (ish) games. I’ve beaten doom and I’m close with doom eternal, but was considering picking up Metal: Hellsinger if anyone has any insight? (When I’m not working or sleeping/at home, I’m usually at a metal show) Returnal is one of my all time favorites and I am in love with the hollowseeker, but it doesn’t run as smoothly on my x as I would have hoped, so any similar recommendations would be highly appreciated

That’s the post. I’m getting between 48-60 FPS on Black Ops 6’s multiplayer with 1080p, Nvidia Upscaler set to Quality, and balanced graphics. All on 17W profile (you can get 65-80s with 25W but I prefer 17w for battery purposes.)

Honestly very shocked. Just a reminder for everyone wanting to play it do NOT change your TDP while in a match; wait until you’ve exited back to lobby. COD has a tendency to ban players who change TDP in match.

I’m having an issue with the light rings, I the brightness set to 0 because I don’t like them. Unfortunately, almost every day, they turn themselves on anyway. I have to open the settings, turn up the brightness and then put it back to 0 to turn them back off. Is there another way to disable them? I love my Ally, but I hate these lights. It’s really aggravating

Anyone tried playing witch it in epic launcher? For some reason mine won't open, I've re-downloaded, restarted and stuff but nothing. It just says it's running in epic launcher but nothing pops up. I'm not sure can anyone help?

So my ROG Ally X has a squeaky right trigger. Im within my return period so I can easily exchange it for another one, but is the incidence of this issue very high ? It doesn't bother me terribly bad, I can probably get used to it. So if the odds are high the replacement unit will have it too, I'll just leave it be. (I'm also not keen on opening it to lubricate it or what not)

Can anyone report back if theirs is completely perfect ?

Hi all, I'm using Z1E since its launched. But last 2-3 months I have big problems with micro stuttering on windows. Reinstalled windows via Asus Cloud Recovery changed ssd with higher read/write speed tried with every vram options (auto, 4g, 6g, 8g) but no. There are always stutters in my games.

No Man's Sky, Diablo 4, Elden Ring, Resident Evil 4, FC25 and many more games. For example when moving camera or move the character suddenly fps drops to 25 or something similar and rises again. capped or uncapped fps doesn't matter stutters or sudden fps drops always happening. Again for example one indie game I set fps cap to 60 and opened vsync in game. 20W tdp gpu using at %40 and these problems still can happen.

I installed bazzite and with Linux pre loading shaders feature I'm not facing any of above issues. Even lower tdp compared to windows games running perfectly without fps drops or stuttering.

But I want to stick with windows because of some anti-cheat games and gamepass but with this issues I'm not enjoying games.

Is there any proper fix for this? (Sorry for my English. its not my native language.)

Question for those running Bazzite. I plan to dual boot because there are some things I like about windows but I have a few questions that depending on the answers I may not even install bazzite.

Ally drivers and calibration. If I wanted to update bios and drivers could I boot windows, update them and go back to bazzite, and will it carry those driver updates over. Also does it carry over the stick calibration from armory crate and any other updates for armory crate. Basically I don't want to loose that ability. Or does Bazzite have its own driver's and calibration tool.

Internet browser One thing I love to do is alt tab out of a game and read up on a guide I have open in a browser. I do this a lot actually for achievement guides and especially for Metaphor Refantazio 100% complettion (don't judge me). Does Bazzite have a browser option. I did see Decky Loader has a browser plugin however it has a warning about security flaws.

Sorry for the long post and I know this only pertains to those that use Bazzite. But maybe it will also open a discussion for those who like windows on the Ally and how we can achieve the best of both.

When I'm moving in game using wasd and I lift my finger from the key it keeps going on that direction until I click on that key again and it's extremely inconsistent. Any help??!!?

Thankfully the flight was short so battery life was no issue.

Definitely easier to travel than a laptop.

Hi there, recently tried my beloved ROG with one of these USB-C-Display-Glasses. Used a Rokit Max for that and the experience is really great. Very nice to play with such a big virtual display in front of me.
But: As the Ally just has one USB-C-Port, I can not charge and use the glasses togehter. Have a Dockcase-USB-C-Dock here, which adds a couple of ports togehter with a USB-C, but it seems it does not support USB-DP-Alt-Mode...

So does anybody know a working "dongle" or hub that supports DP-Alt Mode over USB C?

I forgot that steam keeps running in the background if you just X out and was having tons of issues in several games getting double input and incorrect input with the built in controller… turns out not exiting steam properly will keep those bindings and the in game bindings. Couldn’t find this anywhere online so hope this helps someone.

After I installed ets2 on ally which was always crashing all other games also showing unstable framedrops.

I picked up an Ally X last night and swapped the SSD with the one I had in my original Ally (2TB 2280). Had done issues with ASCE and TDP controls but was able to resolve it. Sadly I've run into another problem: Aura Sync is just not working. I can enable it, but if I leave that screen up change the colors, it's turned off again. Aura Sync service is running. Anyone encounter this issue on their Ally or Ally X?

Normal LED/Lighting controls in ASCE and Windows do work. Ally X is fully updated with Windows and OEM updates. I'm not sure if the red Starburst(?) indicates something isn't set up correctly.

Hi! I currently own a steam deck oled, but I feel drawn back by the 800p resolution, which is noticeable to me and also the inability to play/ difficulty of playing some titles in my library such as Apex, Remnant 2, ghosts of Tsushima, and the last of us Remastered. I want to utilize the Ally X's 1080P screen, and it's better performance to stop using FSR upscaleing to mitigate what I constantly see as muddy, blurry, or screen door like effects being overlayed onto my steam deck gameplay but my question is this. At 1080p will the Ally X offer comparable or improved performance on titles over the steam deck oled running them at 800p? I have been looking for a week for this specific answer as to whether I can still get better performance at a higher native resolution on the Ally X than the steam deck Oled.

Purchased an Ally in last month. Yesterday after playing hitman woa, I slept. When I woke up in morning and started the game, it strated to crash. Did a restart, reinstalled the game, reinstalled all driver, cleared temporary data, etc. Nothing worked. So turned to a cloud recovery... 12+ hr have passed still unable to finish, download is too slow. Also somehow a bsod happened while downloading recovery. 😢

Now my main concern: I havent claimed the 3 months free gaming pack. After recovery will it stay?

Is there a better/faster way to do this? Maybe a backup download or direct boot/install from windows 11 from a usb as we used to do on laptops and pc?

Update 2: Its now stuck between updating windows and bsod it's not going past 0% downloading of updates.

I filled all the recommended settings from Rog ally life, but I’m still have texture loading issues even after putting the VRAM to auto. The games runs fine, but in game textures still fail to load properly. Anyone else dealing with this?

Hi all just bought each of my sons Rog Ally’s. When setting up it says login with Microsoft account. I did that but now it asks if I want to restore from backup or new pc. When I clicked new setup it’s saying I won’t be able to restore the rog from backups later. I just want a clean install that backs up. Am I wrong that this sounds like it wants to backup their computers to the rog so it looks like their pc setup?
