Lego rdr2

Okay so just some late night thoughts now we know Lego makes censored remakes and games based on movies and games but imagine them trying to make rdr2 that shit would be a fucking nightmare to censor

Favorite Western films?

(I asked this in RDR, but I thought I would ask here in case anyone here doesn't go to that sub:)

Favorite Western films? One of the things I love about RDR2 is how much it uses Western movie tropes in the game. So: What are your favorites?

Some that I like, in no particular order:

Tombstone, 1993;

The 2016 remake of The Magnificent Seven;

Pale Rider, 1985;

High Plains Drifter, 1973;

The Quick and The Dead, 1995

Thoughts from my first play-through

Wow.

As a casual gamer who always found interest in the more “epic” storylines in video games, I was always interested in playing RDR2. I’m the type of guy who read the Halo novels but never owned an Xbox360. Also, I live in the Rocky Mountain West and had heard the hype about RDR2. It had been on my list for years but it wasn’t until Jan 2024 that I pulled the trigger on a used copy of RDR2 and a $75 used Xbox One. So glad I did. Here are my thoughts and notes on how I played.

-Time to completion: 11 months (I don’t have a lot of free time)

-This subreddit spoiled about 40% of the storyline (at least, I knew that Arthur would become sick and die), but I didn’t feel like it affected the way I enjoyed the game. In fact, it sort of kept me in the earlier chapters, as I roughly knew it was important to savor the time with Arthur.

-Insane character development and acting. My favorite character was Charles because he always seemed to have a good soul but was also highly capable of getting the job done.

-I spent the most time in Chapter 3 and had a solid 3-month fling with hunting, trapping, crafting, and just generally exploring. After Arthur died, I took about 2 months off of the game.

-my favorite NPC was the guy looking for Gavin. Especially when he showed up in the epilogue like the dude is really good at getting the word about about Gavin. Gavin - he’s really funny

-I never fucked around in the swamps

-I never caught a legendary fish. Found fishing to be boring but loved the legendary animals.

-hunting small game was boring and hard

-favorite town: Valentine, bc it had plenty to do and was the OG. I liked the hotel and saloon there the best

-I thought that the gameplay was perfectly balanced. The only reason I got stuck in “hunting-mode” for so long was because I was continually fed action and quests, never in a forced way. It felt like living life as Arthur Morgan.

-I live in small town Colorado and felt like the environments in RDR2 were spot on. I found myself appreciating my local scenery more, knowing that the rugged beauty of the mountains is something only a small percentage of RDR2 players would be able to actually experience. If you know the region, I specifically feel like the Sangre de Cristo mountain range and Spanish Peaks Wilderness just ARE RDR2. Loved hunting around Big Valley.

-After Chapter 4, the storyline overtook me and I slipped away from hunting-zone and started plowing through missions. It felt like reading a good book and staying up late into the night in a sprint to finish.

-Favorite missions: Rescuing John from the jail. Storming the oil factory with the native Americans on horseback. Protecting the reservation was awesome in general. Watching Colm ODriskill hang. LEMMMYYYY.

-by the end of the game I loved Sadie and loved going on bounty missions with her. She was super inspiring and a great motivator. I hated when we got the balloon bro killed though.

-At one point, towards the end of Arthur’s run, I took a sidetrack to Horseshoe Overlook and got real nostalgic. Just walked around and noticed the scarring from fire pits and a few empty cans. What a different time that was. So happy go-lucky.

-just before epilogue, I got the Hunter challenge where you kill cougars with a bow. Loved that one.

-Least favorite character was probably John (lol. I’m absolutely going to play RDR1 next but I found him to be slightly annoying and….stupid. Even if it was written that way and necessary for the well-rounded storyline).

-By the time I got to the epilogue, I was happy for the bonus-gaming but kind of burned out by how epic the main storyline was. The finish at Beaver Hollow was orgasmic in a way that diminished the epilogue completely. No matter though.

-I’m writing this while the credits play, which brings me to the music and sound/visual effects. Just ridiculous stuff to still be this good after so many years on a rusty dusty Craigslist console. I cried during the song and montage during what I called “Arthur’s final ride home.”

-Wait omg it’s not over, the credits ended and now I’m playing again.

Wow

edit: I had to go to sleep and my save file says 87% which I’m assuming means I have 13% of the game to go. Kinda funny how it keeps faking out the ending. Feels like LOTR ROTK extended edition: really long and you absolutely enjoy it…But will it ever end?

Arthur Morgan doesn't drink water.

This man would be pissing Guinness and dying of dehydration.

Denied Mary - Am I screwed?

I was feeling spiteful and declined to help Mary find her brother in We Loved Once & True. Did I screw myself over if I’m going for 100%?

Unable to interact with rhodes chain gang

For some reason, I can’t interact with the rhodes chain gang. I collected all 5 posters (even shows up in my satchel as such), the icon is on the map, and they are there act react to me pulling my weapon on them. However, i can’t ever interact with them to finish the mission.

I am playing a modded game, but this is the first time this issue has happened, and it seems like this mission is bugged in general. Does anyone know how to solve this?

Does anyone know if any of the euphoria mods change the bleed out or vital organ chance animations?

Id like to install CIRR or AEM but was wondering if it changes or removes any of the small details that you get from bleedouts which I Remember from the ps4. Like if u graze someone in the neck they have a specific animation, or if they get hit in the stomach sometimes they crawl away to bleed out somewhere etc. In the demonstrations I see in the mods' videos they all seem to die strictly by these dynamic ragdoll effects.

Funny little(useless) detail about the ending of "Arcadia for amateurs IV"

If you jump on the boat, Albert will comment, but will not get spooked as some characters do if you do the same(Like the crazy doctor that tries to make the electric chair, who will run away scared if you jump on the cell carriage) and will make a few comments, then will just keep rowing in circles in the swamp, around the small islands lol

How does weather works in RDR2?

https://reddit.com/link/1h64tp3/video/f6fc6o94mq4e1/player

This is my third game. I'm in chapter 2 and today started a journey from Valentine to Lakay, hunting for satchel materials and exploring a bit. I leaved Valentine with rain, now, 2 IRL hours later, i'm in Lakay and still raining. Not that I don't like it, just curious about the weather mechanics. How weather works? It's ramdom? It's ciclic?
