I recently am getting into the RC world and have been having trouble with motors and ESCs. I bought some readytosky motors (cheap ones just to test) and some readytosky 30A ESCs. The issue is that the motors came with 2mm banana plugs and the ESCs came with 3.5mm female plugs. Would it be acceptable to take off the 2mm plugs and solder on new 3mm male plugs? I look forward to expanding my RC knowledge!

Hi everyone.

I have an FMS pa 18 that I had bound with a radiomaster ER6 and TX12.

I took the ER6 off to put on an ER8 so I would have a 7th channel for the reverse thrust. But when I put the ER8 on it does not light up at all. When I put the ER6 back on it does not light up and the plane no longer responds.

All I get is a loud beeping coming from the motor area. I cannot get either receiver to light up let alone bind.

I should have just flown it with the ER6 and forgotten about reverse thrust :’(

Are there substantial differences in terms of how the plane behaves when flying with any of these three gyro stabilizers in windy conditions? Are any of them better for different types of planes? I’m not talking about safe mode type of flying, but just making a plane fly able in conditions it would otherwise not be fun to fly in?

I am building a Piper Cub airplane (1m wingspan, 60cm fuselage, and approximately 550g). I made a mistake when placing the motor and mounted it about 2cm behind the nose. Using a 3S 1500mAh battery, I have to position it about 17cm from the nose to balance the GC. Do you think this will affect it?

The prices there are pretty good for motors/servos/esc's, but checking the reviews for the site is a bit of a mixed bag. Just want to know what your experiences were with buying from hobby king, and if it should be avoided. Anything specific about shipping in or to Australia would be appreciated. Thank you!

I would like to build a mid/long-range fpv glider with an analog vtx and cam installed in it.

I dont know which "frame" to pick, as my budget is quite tight. I was mainly considering some 3d printed designs from thingiverse, but I dont know how plastic differs from traditional foam in terms of weight, flight performance, etc.

I would like to fly out about 10km.

So could you guys please help me out a bit? Sorry, I am a complete beginner in terms of planes, as I only did fpv drones til now.

When I was flying as a kid, this was my first build kit. I got as far as assembling the stabilizers before realizing I don't like building the plane, I just want to fly it. Now that I've got my insta-flight fix from modern foamies, I thought I'd give building a second chance.

What hurdles or gotchas do I need to look out for when converting this to electric? Battery placement for correct CG?

Any upgrades I should consider? I'll need to buy all the electronics, as well as the film to wrap it. I'm thinking retracts, probably do a trike setup?
