I'm writing an essay/paper for an English class, and I need some help picking songs. The prompt was to evaluate the way people used forms of protest to make change, and I'm using music. I want to use some Rage songs, but I need some help with the context of them. Since I wasn't around when they came out it'd be helpful if someone could like dumb them down a bit for me? I'm wondering if some of their songs are about specific events, or general anti-gov't/corruption? Thanks guys!
Do you think it's more Trent vibes on that song or maybe there is more Zack influence? Also, what's your thoughts about this song?
Hey y'all! I have a question, is the right side of the spine really supposed to be upside down or was this a misprint?
Could you guys give me any information about this song or if it's a typo
So, I'm just gonna explain it right out. My aunt on my mom's side (RIP mom, ily), and my mom's family lived in Libertyville, Illinois, where Tom Morello was raised.
According to my dad, my aunt used to go to the same bar as Tom, would chat with him, and he would even come over to my mom's house sometimes? (LIKE, WHAT-)
Honestly when my dad first told me this, I was like, 'Holy shit we know a famous person', but then I remembered we know a lot of famous people, so I calmed down a bit.
Anyways, yeah! My family knew Tom Morello, and I have no idea what the actual fuck to do with this information. So.
Uh......fun!
(I'm coming here because I didn't know what to do with this info other than tell someone, so đź‘Ť)
As a Southeast Asian myself (Filipino), I kind of feel like RATM is popular in Southeast Asia since they reference Vietnam War a lot like with their first album which is a picture of Thich Quang Duc burning himself alive and they also have a song called Vietnow in their album Evil Empire
From Turnstile’s 2015 album Nonstop Feeling. Their RATM influence def comes through on this one.
Hope this is ok to post. I see Turnstile mentioned from time to time on here but never this specific track
I always wondered if he is an introverted or more an extroverted person. He is so outgoing on the stage that i always thought he must be extroverted. But in private he seems totaly diffrent. What do you think?

I'm soreu if thus question is redundant but I would like to know if there is any chance of a reunion? Like a one of event or something. I completely understand if it'll never happen but has their been any update from any of the guys regarding this.
I recently saw this, and thought someone on here might care. It's made by Ernie Ball Music Man. Personally, I don't know how I feel about the stingray bass look, but they're growing on me. The blue passive one looks pretty neat. I appreciate the thumb rest piece, makes it a lot comfier to play. Also the mute bits are pretty neat. It's a shame they only made a limited amount, but I would never be able to afford them anyway LOL.

I always think about this.
Queen, nwa, Motley crew.
This band needs a movie.
EDIT: Rage Against the Machine (1997) documentary
Does anybody knows whats playing at the end? Is it just the guitar part repating or is something else?
I read somewhere that each of the guys picked three songs to go onto the Renegades album from their back catalogue of covers. Does anyone know specifically who picked which? Or if not, could speculate
I love this song, however I was surprised to discover that practically no footage exists of this song being performed live, apart from this relatively low quality recording from the January 28th 1999 Mumia benefit concert: https://youtu.be/YoACDNTkujc?si=9bgOo-WOMVW3xgTF
Only thing I can find online is a mention of it possibly being performed again live some point in 2000? Does anyone know of any other footage that may exist of this song being performed live, it’s killing me not being able to watch it!

Hi everyone, sorry if this is not allowed (?) to be asked.
I'm doing a project for a class about freedom of expression. I've chosen to do an academic analysis on Rage and their freedom of expression with music + public incidents, but I'm having some trouble finding some sources.
I'm specifically looking for other sources that fall along the lines of how the media would tend to critique Rage and something I can directly quote. I know articles and clips are hard to come by and I feel like I've been through every corner of the internet/library at this point.
If anyone has anything to link or reference, please help me out 🙏
Planning to go see Tom in December in LA, one of the guitarists I have always wanted to see, but who here has seen Tom with his band doing sets, I was really curious if the whole show is Tom doing songs dedicated to Wayne Kramer or if he’s going to do his songs and some Rage medleys
With an exception for the final years of the bush sr/jr and trump administrations they only seem to be around during democratic administrations and never during republican administrations where their music would be most needed
Hey all!
So, as we are a RATM tribute band and human beings/activists ourselves, we realize our place of privilege, and we respect the fact we have a platform from which to speak and share messages with audiences, in addition to just performing Rage’s music.
Our band chooses to display incindiary images in videos and speak onstage - consistent with Rage’s past performances while staying true and authentic our own beliefs, experiences, and perspectives.
Now that voting has proven to do little to nothing on the big front, but still has an effect on local elections, where do we go now?
We are all furious at the current state of things. We are angry, disillusioned, disappointed, but we are NOT diminished.
We won’t stand on a silent platform. Please help us to turn the message into an accurate weapon.
So I’m asking all of you Rage fans, because you guys coming to our shows or to other tributes’ shows are the whole reason why we get to do this in the first place:
If you were going to a RATM show tonight, what sort of messages would you want to and need to hear right now?
