What would you consider Queen's best album?

I personally think that Queen II is their best album. I also find it to be one of their most ambitious and electric albums. It has a very unique blend of progressive rock, heavy metal and complex harmonies, which became a hallmark of their sound. Songs such as "The March Of The Black Queen" and "Seven Seas Of Rhye" showcase the band's creativity and musical range. It's definitely in my opinion a progressive rock and heavy metal masterpiece of an album. I'd love to hear your thoughts on what you think is Queen's best album

Munich, any Freddie or Queen-related places to visit?

Apart from the gay stuff, is there any Freddie and/or Queen related stuff of interest? I happen to be going there next March...

Thanks

I've never cried at a song before, but track 13 "Untitled" unironically just changed that, what emotion does this song, or whatever you want to call it, bring to you...?

What "diva" song would Freddie cover and nail?

I had this question for a while now, but what song by some of the modern "divas" like Lady Gaga or Ariane or Celine, would you like to have heard done by Freddie ? Or what song do you think Freddie would absolutely nail? I came up with the question when I heard 'Freedom' by Beyonce again, the other day for reference.

Today is the 50th anniversary of Queen's third album, Sheer Heart Attack (1974)!

Happy birthday to this masterpiece, my personal favourite of all the discography. A well constructed hard/glam rock work. Also the SHA Tour was the band's first huge tour in their career.

What is your favourite track from the album?

  1. Brighton Rock (May)

  2. Killer Queen (Mercury)

  3. Tenement Funster (Taylor)

  4. Flick Of The Wrist (Mercury)

  5. Lily Of The Valley (Mercury)

  6. Now I'm Here (May)

  7. In The Lap Of The Gods (Mercury)

  8. Stone Cold Crazy (Mercury)

  9. Dear Friends (May)

  10. Misfire (Deacon)

  11. Bring Back That Leroy Brown (Mercury)

  12. She Makes Me (Stormtrooper In Stilettos) (May)

  13. In The Lap Of The Gods... Revisited (Mercury)

This is the third track from Queen's eleventh album, "The Works". How do you feel about this song? How would you rank it among the rest of the Queen's discography? How would you rate it out of 10 (decimals allowed)?

SUGGESTED SCALE:
1-4: Not good. Regularly skip.
5: It’s okay, but I might have to be in the right mood to listen to it.
6: Slightly better than average. I won’t skip it, but I wouldn’t choose to put it on.
7: This is a good song. I enjoy it quite a bit.

Why so much reverb on Freddie's vocals in Let Me In Your Heart Again?

Great song, but I always felt like Freddie's voice sounded different in this track. Only now managed to pinpoint it - the reverb. I can't help but find it distracting!

I'm assuming it's something to do with the track only being finished 20 years after it was recorded?

I kind of wish there was a non-reverb version so we could hear what it would have sounded like in that classic 1984 Queen production sound.

Drum tracks

Probably a silly question and I hope it hasn’t been asked or answered before but are the drum tracks on the new remix re-recorded? I know they can do a lot to the audio these days but they just don’t quite seem to have enough the same flow

My 1973 Queen debut album besides the new Queen I 2024 edition

Last year I was able to get an original copy of Queen's debut album of 1973. Last week I received the 2024 edition in the mail. What do you think of the new edition?
