Back-to-back it's a really great album, but this was one of two tracks that I didn't pay much attention to, until today when it hit me: Colin Forster was a beast on this particular track.
Is this allowed? Can I rip the audio from a 45 I own/ upload it to a google drive/ share it with the group?
Thanks for replies.
Hey everyone, I've only really just begun to dip my toes into psychedelic rock in general, acid rock in particular seems to really be my jam. What are some albums you'd consider classics or "must listen" for someone who's largely new to the genre?
Who is going to write the successor to the Acid Archives. This is the quintessential book for classic psychedelic rock and its subcategories up to the year 1982-1982, I forget.
There have been amazing music produced since then with an explosion of current great psychedelic artists. These need to be documented and compiled like the book did for the classics. In addition new archival releases are being produced annually.
My question for you is, have you heard of any books documenting modern psych? Any successor that is written similar to the acid archives updated for archival releases?
If you have not heard of the Acid Archives, trust me it is amazing.

Solid release, a bit gaze-y and dream-y (think Holy Wave). Reminded of a former Denver area band Flaural, also.

“We like to get warmed up”
Hello! My name is Jay I am a indie artist from Los Angeles California I have a new single out with hints of funk and phycadelic rock called 'From Where I Once Hid' if your into that type of thing click the link and let me know your thoughts on the track!
Hello. We are HRIF. We are a 3-piece band from Oakland. According to our Bandcamp we play psych rock + noise rock + rock + art rock + desert rock + dude rock + igneous rock + scuzz rock + stoner rock. We're heavily influenced by Porcupine Tree, King Gizzard, King Crimson, and Psychedelic Porn Crumpets. We've been compared to the Jesus Lizard, Mclusky, Birthday Party, and Daughters. There's a whole lot of bass freakout and some harmonies, too.
This is our first record HNEFATAFL, it's out today, and we'd appreciate if you'd give us a listen.
The album is composed of 8 songs about the great ghosts of practice spaces, drunk superheroes, the smell of rain, dragon roadies, bad bosses, space explosions, warrior baths, and botched bank robberies. Most importantly you can find us on streaming or pick up the vinyl at our Bandcamp~.~
Our debut Music Video, "Dorodango," is out today too, and you'll be able to find it here.
We are HRIF. The record is HNEFATAFL. Thanks for listening.
P.S.: If you're in the Bay Area, we're also looking to make show friends and play shows with you. We'd love to hear your stuff, too.
Hey all!
I've been doing a weekly playlist for my blog with new and old psych music.
Here's Volume 4 - featuring music by Altin Gun, Skinshape, The Cosmic Dead, Peanut Butter Conspiracy, Ultimate Spinach, Arugula, King Tuff, Dire Wolves, and more.
Enjoy, and let me know what you think!

Disclaimer: You may not consider some of the artists/bands I mention below belonging to the psychedelic rock category, but that's ok - I'm just trying to try on some new music!
The point is that I've recently sort of discovered that I quite like psychedelic rock. By that I mean, I've dabbled with a few songs from a few bands (All Them Witches, The Black Angels) but never got into the specific band enough to continue on listening to them - at least as far as I know. I really like a few of their songs and love the sound, just not enough to continue with that band.
I do like a ton of more mainstream psych rock such as Greta Van Fleet, Arctic Monkeys, MGMT, as well as the classics like Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Hendrix, Doors, etc.
I'd like to explore a little more what the genre has to offer (modern psych rock ideally). Does anyone have suggestions on who to listen to next? Perhaps a band that's a bit more "mainstream" as to dip my toe in the water before I dive in, so to speak. I'm not trying to drop acid and listen to a record (as much as I'd love to), I just love rock and I want to explore the sub-genre of psych rock more!
