Is there much scientific elements to psychology?

Hi, currently a leaving cert student in Ireland and I’m looking into studying either psychology or biology in college next year , however I am heavily leaning towards psychology as I am just so interested in people’s actions and the thoughts behind them, however I’ve always dreamed of working in a hospital or a lab somewhere. I’m hoping to get Between 550-590 points in the leaving cert so I don’t think points will be a deciding factor in the course I chose as most courses are within that range.

Mental Health, and mental illness

I'm thinking about mental health in a general sense, and wondering if something makes sense to anyone else. I'm thinking specifically that there's no real need for the term "mental health". Your mental health is just an extension of your general health, and I don't really think it needs a separate category. As a medical discipline, the fields of psychology, and psychiatry are necessary, but in the terms of talking about our health, there's literally no reason to talk about your "mental health" as something that is separate from your physical health, they go pretty much hand in hand.
