Hello!
My dad is giving me our family Camaro. It’s a base 1968 with original # match 327, has a 2 barrel and a 2 speed powerglide. Outside 1 fender and one drum brake, every part is from the factory. It has 30,040 miles on the engine.
I love and respect the work my father put into the car, and I helped build it when I was 4 till 8.
It’s a 210hp variant, and as lovely as it is I do want to make a bit more fun.
He wants me to keep it the original 327, but agreed on my idea to 4 speed manual it, add 2.02 heads intake 4 barrel and cam changes.
I want advice, as I think dropping the entire powertrain and keeping it in its perfect working order in a garage safe would make more sense.
So, I just wanna hear some ideas from the people. 383 or 427 swap with a 4/5 speed manual, then purely keeping it cosmetically original. Maybe front discs and I’ll keep the original dog dish wheels safe too. This sounds better to me than modifying a perfect working engine. If I do the engine mods, I’d keep all the original parts safe in case I wanted to return it to original state, but I’m just not sure.
Thanks for ur opinions, I haven’t made any decisions yet so I’d love to hear thoughts. Thanks!!
Who has made there own cluster, how did it go, what would you do differently and would you do it again?
I've been kicking around the idea of making my own but still on the fence.
Hey all. New to this. Want to get into tinkering and learning about car engines etc. I really fancy something big like an American car. Any recommendations on something that won’t break the bank and isn’t too difficult to work on? Thanks in advance.
So my last post got quite a bit of attention and I appreciate the comments and messages on Instagram since then, posting an update here as the car is coming along really well! Link here
Hello everyone!
Currently have an idea for a car that would work well in touge, although it does not specifically have to be for that sort of type of build. I was thinking of using an e46 and slowly build it up over time along side with maintenance.
Would it be worth building from a 318ci or start from a 330ci? I’m thinking of engine swapping or straight up tuning the engine (if it was a 330ci since that engine is significantly more powerful that the 318ci). I am highly aware that engine power is not everything for touge as handling and weight distribution is the main point of concern.
In addition, what other cars would you recommend? Nothing small or a hatchback please since I am 6ft’5 so no miata sadly 😢. Keep it to coupe or potentially a convertible (I’m not taking a e46 convertible they don’t seem too great)
Hope to hear from your responses soon!
I've been looking for an engine and this company has it. Does anyone know if they're legit or not? Thanks!
First time changing a caliper and I've over-tightened the brake fluid hose onto the new caliper, and the volt keeps turning. Is it possible to remove parts from the new caliper to the old one, or best to just get a new caliper again?

Pulled my carb off to upgrade to something better. I'm removing all the emissions stuff. Can I take this EGR plate and throw it away?
If I throw it away do I need like an adapter or can I run the carb without this plate and without an adapter?
Plan to purchase both soon and post updates/ photos of the process, looking for friendly advice/ tips or tricks to make the engine fit in the smaller d7 body than the pathfinder engine bay
I have a 1993 camaro and the high beams stopped working (the arm doesn't click anymore). The high beams only stay on when I hold it with my hand. As soon as I let go it goes back and the high beams turn off. This all heppened after I let a neighbour try the car. He turned the high beams on and then turned them off by pushing the lever back (I think). Now high beams won't stay put. What can I do. I looked online and some people say it can be an easy fix, while others say you need to take off the steering wheel and a lot of other parts. What can I do to fix it? Could it be just the rod/switch out of place or could it have broken the actuator?
Edit: Problem solved! It randomly started working again
Hey need to ask the peanut gallery so here it is I have never seen this before. Pulled the plugs on an old 454 engine that was put into a 78 nova and they look like this? AC43T are these the correct plugs? Car runs decent with them but has other problems like overheating etc.
