Still playing in 2024 - Any News of Info?

Guys I always find myself coming back to this jewel of a game, I absolutely love it and enjoyed it over the years.

Has there been any updates recently (within the past couple of years) from the creators of the game, any plans, expansions, ports to android/iOS???

I think this game has a great potential to expand outwards from cars and into motorbikes/military vehicles/aircraft etc.

How exactly do I product midrange or higher tier?

I'm only producing Budget cars. So I research some new features. As you can see in the image below my current car is priced at market value. Has zero features.

Now if I include all of those features, that are rare even in Luxury tier, but price the car at Mid-range tier with all those feature, the market value is below mid-range tier, meaning it will stockpile at the showroom.

How exactly do I move from budget to mid-range. Features is clearly not the answer.

Production based on demand?

I’m attempting to optimize my car lines based on customer demand. Is there any way I can mathematically do this?

For example, say my export speed is 3.5 minutes. If I’m producing two different kinds of cars for the same exit, then I should make their bottleneck no more than 7 minutes to ship them efficiently.

Is there any way I can modify the shipping speed for each vehicle type based on extraneous factors like customer demand?

Can't price cars lower than mid-range

It seems like I can't really produce cars in the budget segment because when I price them in that range, it shows negative profit. I've made a barebones sedan with only the legally required stuff needed but it shows negative at 24,500 (max price of budget segment).

Is it because my production costs are too high? Either way, I make a ton of money in luxury and expensive markets but I would like to offer budget cars since I do not serve that market.

Conveyor separator

Hi, is it possible to seperate a line in 2? More specifically seperating it by sending 1 to the left, then right, then left etc....

Conveyor question.

Is it better to have cars waiting on the conveyor(IE a full conveyor) between stations or plan things out so there's minimal backups on the conveyors?

Game graphics?

At one time I figured out which company produced the graphics and game icons for Production Line but I stupidly didn't write it down so I could remember it. The company has "easy" in the name of it is about all I remember. Does anyone one know the company name that did the graphic design for Production Line? I write real CAM software and would love to chat with the individual that came up with the designs.

Is it normal to have to constantly chaning vehicle pricing?

I'll build say a mid-range car and it'll sell well at the upper end of that price range. Then the vehicles will start piling up in the show room. I have to sometimes change the pricing to the budget range to get it to sell. Then sometimes I can increase it back.

It has all the basic features the competition has plus 1 rare or very rare option.

I try to keep my eye on the marketing screens, but I would think with a high reliability rating and 25% brand recognition I would have some stability in pricing?

New player resources?

Just started this game tonight, it's not what I expected, but I'm kinda playing around with it anyway, pretty fun still. But, there's a bunch of unclear things and the wiki is basically a skeleton...are there any other resources out there?

How do you determine on what price to sell the car.

New player here :) But I cannot figure out for what price I should sell the cars.
For now I am stuk at around 35k and putting al my features in that car.
Tried to split it up to have an expensive car next to it but almost got bankrupt that.

So any tips are welcome!

Lots Unlocked

Game Keeps Crashing

No error message or anything. Suddenly just bugs out. I suspect it has something to do with the individual body assembly slots as it didn't start until I upgraded my body assembly train.

Any known issues with this?

Pricing increments by $500 and is always xx,132 or xx,632 - Can this be adjusted?

Pretty simple question. My first game had pricing at xx,000 and xx,500, which was very nice for my OCD, but after starting a new scenario the prices are set at these bizarre intervals.

Help! =(

Factory research problem

Hi all,
is it possible that a problem with the research of "central locking"?
I've all necessary tasks - but the "central locking system" will not install on a car thats configure with.

I did not see in any kind of production lines the new research of central locking system.

New player wanting a little advice with the A.I.

Hello everyone, I've had the game for a couple months but only played a few hours, I want to like the game I do, but I just can't understand/seem to find a way to beat the AI. The speed at which it researches, it's damn near impossible to keep up. Any tips please?

Can't I make fast engines?

Noob here! So I was spending 109K per hour on buying fast engine powertrains, by far my biggest expense. So I set up to manufacture them; well, this then made me spend 117K per hour on fast engines. Disregarding this slight balance issue, I naturally want to manufacture my own fast engine assemblies. This doesn't seem possible, though? I've tried looking through the tech tree for "unlock slot: make fast engine assembly" or "unlock upgrade at slot: make engine assembly" (as is the case with the whole powertrain). I'm finding nothing - is this not possible to do in the game currently?

Unused Components (Seats)

I'm having issues with the seats module.
I've researched nappa leather seats, so it should only be installing nappa seats rights? Does it still need the standard seats for making heated seats and leather interior?

It seems like it never uses it and refunds all the time. Under the components tab, it shows these seats were not consumed too.

Loading Save with all zones suddenly unlocked, then broken, and how to fix.

I had been running into an issue with having long runs from scratch, saving, and on next load all my zones are unlocked even without purchasing or even researching the land expansion.If you save again, the second time you load it up the map is virtually gone, and in the loading screen you are plagued with warnings about structures on invalid locations. The entire factory is rendered broken.

I got frustrated by this and decided to slam a few beers and rip open some XML files. I solved it in 10 minutes.

**The cause:**I run into this bug strictly from custom edited maps, and this immediately made sense when I cracked open the save file XML in notepad++.When you create zones in the editor there is a naming dialogue, this is not something that forces you to change, its just there, and many people including myself don't bother naming things that don't seem to matter later.The default name is "Vacant Warehouse"If you make multiple new zones, especially if you completely start from scratch, all your zones will have the same namespace for a zone and it's collection of properties.The game will allow you to play from here on out after setting some import and export slots and saving.

After playing a bit and saving, your first save is going to write down that you own "Vacant Warehouse".When you load the game again, this makes some problems. The game looks up the namespace of Vacant Warehouse and unlocks all of them because they share the name.From here you will be able to build in these zones as if unlocked, you don't even need the research.

This issue changes when you save again. Now that you own all of the zones with that name on the map, it will repeatedly jot down that you own vacant warehouse. In the XML file it will look like this from approximately line 29-31:<zones><unlocked>Vacant warehouse,Vacant warehouse,Vacant warehouse,Vacant warehouse,Vacant warehouse,Vacant warehouse,Vacant warehouse,Vacant warehouse,Vacant warehouse,Vacant warehouse,Vacant warehouse,Vacant warehouse,Vacant warehouse,Vacant warehouse,Vacant warehouse,</unlocked></zones>

Now when you load again, the game just hates this, I don't know what happens to it from here but it definitely wants to apply the properties of all zones together and breaks the game. Your save is now unplayable.

**The fix:**First, do one of two things:

-go to your map file in the in-game editor, select each zone and give them a unique name. Even a number unique to each vacant zone will suffice. Save over the existing name exactly as before.

-Alternatively, go to the 'custom_missions' folder, open the very simple .txt file for your custom map.A single zone appears as such:[zone0]

left = 32

top = 23

right = 71

bottom = 76

GUIName = Vacant Warehouse <--------your problem is here

rent = 3.0000

wallid = 8

type = UNLOCKED

floortextures = floor_metal_03.dds

Rename all of these GUIName's to something unique.

Now that you have done either of those two options, keep the map file open.Copy and paste the new names in place of "Vacant Warehouse" into the zone unlocked list in the XML file. Order likely does not matter, this is just a namespace list.

Save the XML file.

Load the game that you edited, it should be slightly back to normal, all my zones needed to be unlocked the normal way, anything I had built in those zones did not function until I unlocked them of course.

Hope this helps anybody with this issue, and remember to name your zones on your next new map.Cheers
