We signups for random campaign at petrol pump because hotel chains offer us free holiday at remote location.
We use whatsapp because it is completely free and we dont donate to signal (those who can)
So those who want to be private either uninstall facebook and whatsapp and resort to regular calling (which by the way not encrypted). Or just be a ghost.
How to let people know, free has a cost. Its you, it your data.
But free fully private service has their own criplling limitations, like they won't implement a spam filter, as sorting or reading content will go against their privacy.
Google do it with messages, and Microsoft did a great job with sms organizer. But they implement a on device logic and later that on device algo will mark you into a particular target bucket and you will start receiving add targeted to that user group, this might happen in future but there will be always a concern.
So the only option remains are the pro services. How you sell same feature for pro and free and openly say free will invade your Privacy and pro wont (and what if your subscription expired). Thats why facebook and whatsapp won't have that option. (I have paid for whatsapp 2 times when they were use to give you that option)
A new platform which is fully private but require subscription to signup, thats not gonna onboard lots of people.College students, people with low income, basically younger self of you, who will signups of anything because they offer incentives, like CRED, MAGICPIN, BANKBAZAR, PAISABAZAR, LAZYPAY ETC.
Its look like we are in catch 22 situation, try to make things fully private they won't have reach.
Try to make completely free they will try to mine user data.
I think we have to choose option 2 (company has to eat) but the give. Platform should advertise and track within it self you should not see your amazon purchase or search related add on Facebook. They can randomly choose to do so on their platform and if you choose that add they should be allow to store your input. Not like things in my Amazon or wishlist start to show up in facebook or Google search.
Google give you option. To turn of you advertisement id and they are trying to focus on anti tacking feature, cookies are gonna go away for good soon.
To summarise
This should be enforces by government or people mass migrating to other platforms bechare they stick to these rules. So in a democracy power comes to us anyways.
Either choose a gov which care about privacy or do a mass migration.
I lost my sim recently and cannot have it reissued. Most e-wallets are not changing the numbers and also not deleting the account. They are only blocking them. Is there anything I can do to get them to delete the accounts?
