I have problem with my Centrail Detail , I booked 4 days of Holiday in September for February, apparently they approved only 3, I bought already tickets and book apartments for this days as in my opinion I gave them enough time to get sorted enough officers for this days, my line manager will be able to help me? They alredy rejected few days for this year..and I couldn’t go to Poland to see my sick mum, if they will giving me problems like that I’m ready to resign from work..where else I can find help ?

I’m currently on student visa and about to switch to post study visa Is it possible to get sponsorship instead of applying for post study visa

I have accepted a conditional offer at HMP Full Sutton, providing I pass my medical/fitness and background checks. is there anyone who currently works there who can let me know what it's like? Reading online doesn't help, you usually see the worst of the worst, so just thought I'd come on here.

I got 57% in my OAC and im kind of disappointed in myself. I feel as though I’ll probably not get an offer due to it now, or if I do it’ll take a year.

Has anyone else been in a similar situation and was you given an offer?

Hi all. I have an assessment coming up in the near future, and was wondering what people recommend to wear as a male. I realise this probably seems like a dumb question for many, but it will be the first time I've attended this type of assessment or had an interview for a public service role. Would smart jumper and shirt be fine or is a suit required? Thanks!

I currently work as a prison officer and trying to get a transfer to a closer jail. I’ve seen that HMP Manchester are advertising and it’s closer than my current but not my preferred option.

Does anyone have experience working at Manchester and what it’s like. What the governors are like, SO’s and CM’s ect.

How big are the wings and what staffing is like.

What’s the Regime and any major gripes about working there.

Hi all, I'm applying for multiple prison officer opportunities and have heard back from few with dates interviews ect, and are moving through the process quite smoothly which is great. However, I'm wondering if 'HMP' Prisons (Excluding private companies such as Sodexo) offer external transfers to different countries? ( I understand to be eligible, you usually have to have served over your probationary period and have worked for an 'ex' amount of time) For a few years previously, I worked as a PCO for Serco, hence why I'm using a second account, and was given an opportunity to work in Australia permanently, but had to turn it down for external reasons. Subsequently, I've regretted this massively, albeit the situation was out of my control. Now 'it' has stabilised, I wish to pursue a similar career in Australia, would that be possible? Is the opportunity for external transfers even a thing?

I received a job offer for Littlehey Prison which is a CAT C over a month ago which I accepted, I'm currently going through vetting and have my medical booked for next week.

I received another conditional offer today for Whitemoor Prison which is a CAT A. Accoridng to SSCL this offer was sent in error as I had already accepted a offer, but they said I have the opportunity to choose which establishment I can work in.

Littlehey is about 50 minutes away from me. Whereas Whitemoor is 10 minutes up the road.

My partner naturally wants me to go for Littlehey as it's a lower CAT prison but i'm really torn between the two.

The only thing worrying me is that I got a caution over 7 years ago for having company property on my possession, they did a ransom search. I'm sure this is now spent after doing some research.

I don't want to accept the Whitemoor job offer and then completely loose out on my opportunity at Littlehey.

So I have accepted a conditional offer of employment to become a Prison Officer at HMP Full Sutton, pending a Medical + Fitness and a Background check. In my background check, I stated that I do have a Conditional Caution from 2 and a half years ago on my record. It was for a minor offence, and it has been spent for 2 and a half years. Will this affect my chances in any notable way?

I'm in pretty good shape, I have been training all year and have recently had a health assessment so i'm not worried about either of them aspects. I'm more after an explanation on how the assessment will go and what they check etc?

Is anyone able to confirm if they can access the application portal? I am trying to get onto my account/profile and it keeps saying page not found.

With the law around assisted dying being voted on this week it begs the question of how those are treated inside that are currently serving time for such offence.

Are they left alone with respect and honour from folk that agree they did what needed to be done to save their loved one from pain? Or are they persecuted further by those that don't believe in assisted dying and feel they deserve their incarceration?

I’m in service 6 months, I called in sick on Friday, my detail has been changed today in the morning for 7 days sick, suddenly now they changed my detail again and they added 3 more days of sickness…they did this in purpose to get rid of me?

Do the belongings eventually get passed on to the family?

I am going on a two day TRiM course this Wednesday and Thursday. I was just wondering if anyone has any guidance, and insight into this?

I am really looking forward to learning something new but I can't really find much info on the actual course and not a whole lot of people in my prison have done it either.
