Posting Guidelines
When posting an issue, give a brief description in the title and a detailed description in the post. Include screenshots (not pictures taken of screens) of the issue. If you aren't sure what to include, more is better!
Check the Wiki, read the sidebar, and search before posting a question, as it may already have been answered.
If your post doesn't appear in the new section, it may be caught in the spam filter. If this happens, message the moderators to ask them to check the spam filter.
When posting a picture please use a screenshot instead of a picture taken of a screen by your phone. This means the quality will increase and will be easier to understand the picture and problem.
Rules
(1) Don't be a jerk: We have zero tolerance for disrespect directed at the community. All members are expected to conduct themselves in a reasonable manner. Sarcasm, leg-pulling, and reasonable jokes are one thing. Trolling, rude, insensitive, and unnecessary comments are another. Rule 1 violations are subject to ban without warning at the mods' discretion.
(2) Support Double11 & Paradox Interactive: Posting or discussing illegal / pirated copies of the game is prohibited. Doing so will result in the post / comment being deleted. Continued discussion will result in a permanent ban.
(3) Keep the subreddit related to Prison Architect: This is not r/news. Each post must be related to the game Prison Architect. News articles, prison studies, or off topic content will be removed. Feel free to reference these in game discussion (Such as when discussing feature wish-lists), but core content must be related to Prison Architect.
(4) Don't duplicate links or subjects: Don't post duplicate threads or "updates" within one week of the original thread (Use the "edit" button on the original). Avoid reposting content that has been posted in the last 90 days.
(5) No pictures taken of screens: Every platform in which to play Prison Architect has the ability to take actual screenshots. Doing a quick search of "how to take a screenshot on" will yield plenty of instructions on how to take a screenshot. Pictures taken on a phone will be removed and asked to resubmit as a screenshot.
Please Message the moderators when you report something, so we know why it was reported and it will be noticed quicker.

I need help with game files.

Why is my prison suffering from clothing needs?
I have my prison full, and I have tried to use mods to fix it but my janitors/prison workers refuse to clean dirty clothes and put them in cells, my reform rate is suffering from 29 to 40 ðŸ˜, And my laundry room is big enough for 31 prisoners, and its close to the cell blocks but it still wont work

Wall demolition glitch
Recently purchased Going Green, Gangs, All day and a night, escape mode, island bound and psych ward. Since this, when I try demolishing a wall, my workers glitch out, they sit on the wall playing the demolition animation but the wall never gets demolished. Anyone else had similar? Feel like I’ve wasted £30. Playing on Xbox Series X

Are dormitories viable?
I find that whenever I incorporate dorms (cell holding two or more prisoners) into my prison the privacy need goes through the roof. Meaning that my inmates won’t work or be very cooperative. That coupled with the fact the prisoners lose cleanliness need every night leads to violent outbreaks which lead to solitary, which makes them lose more needs, which makes them more violent… A vicious cycle
So should anyone ever make dorms when normal cells with a shower head can fit in the same space?

I have been playing offline this game for the past 8/9 years, on and off and I still thinking this is my comfort zone.
I wanted to take this opportunity to express my gratitude towards the developer. I had this game not on steam before just offline since I was a broke college that time, now I can purchase more mods 😅
I really love this game sooo much. I cannot express how much comfort, the way it fills me when Im bored and the void inside. The way it stimulates my brain planning for hours.
With this game, I am a perfectionist to the point I cannot completely build the prison haha im stuck with day one for hours because I have to plan out!! Haha now I have Quick Builds, Staff needs 😄
I have trips and tricks I created/ discovered by myself and I just started going thru reddits as I mostly check yt 😅 noob
I should've played it thru covid but was completely out of it as I was working.
I really love this game, from an aficionado I hope to play this 10 more years haha
P.S. can we have a clearly written Game Bible, my patience really running out haha but I love the idea, soo unique!

Is there a formula to find equal thirds, and fourths, etc. when laying foundations?
So say I have a 78 width foundation that I want to split into 3 equal parts. Would I subtract 2 for the outside walls then 2 for the 2 middle walls and if that number is divisible by 3 then it’ll work?
I can always use planning and guesstimate till I get it but I was wondering if there was a way to get it immediately

What should i add to my prison to make it as inhumane as possible while also not getting national guard called in?
Already planning to make them all wear tracking belts, minimum security is done but not the rest and should I also make prisoners with different security levels separated? (like Min-Sec yard separated from Med-Sec).
Edit: outer prison walls are 2 layers of Permiter walls and 2 layers of electrified fence (all are separated by 1 block) with guard towers and searchlights

Can prisoners jump from bridges?
I built this bridge over the visitors area to connect the reception to other part of my new prison.
Would prisoners be able to escape jumping to the visitors area and run to the visitors door?

Unmotivated Prisoners?
I've played 300+ hours of this game, I mention, to say, I have some idea what I'm doing, generally.
I'm playing through a medium-sized prison. I'm on day 47, there are 53 prisoners.
I am trying to get them to take classes, work in prison jobs and otherwise interact with scheduled activities.
There are more jobs available than I have prisoners, but none of them are filled. The prisoners will not take the classes to qualify for jobs that have qualifications. They also will not take spirituality classes, foundational educational classes, or any of the group therapy/treatment classes. They *do* go to parole hearings, but they don't seem to go to visitation rooms.
Each group has 9+ hours of scheduled Work/Free Time, classes are scheduled during the times that they have Work/Freetime.
I am so baffled, has something changed that I didn't realize? I haven't played in about year.

I haven't found a Dormitory room like in the PC version so would placing 2 beds in one cell count?

Doctors not healing in infirmary
Hi All,
I'm having an issue where the doctors in my infirmary will not heal prisoners or staff. Instead, they'll just walk over to the bed briefly and wander off. I had a look, and I noticed that the errand to deliver the person to the medical bed keeps reappearing, and then the doctor walks over and it disappears.
Is this a known issue? Is there a fix?
