Some of you may know of Howard Wang, he directed the dub for the Prince of Tennis for the past few years, and recently he stated that he's not directing the Prince of Tennis English dub anymore (something out of his control) starting with this ongoing season. He's done so much work to make the dub as amazing as it can and went the extra mile to make it high quality and enjoyable for the fanbase. I wanted him to know that we appreciate all the work he did so I set up a magma board project, it's an online canvas for you to write and draw, so feel free to hop on and show appreciation and thank him for his work!
This is a secret project (I don't believe he checks this subreddit and if he does, oh well I guess lol). There's only 2 days left on this, posting this late cause I was unsure about posting it here.
Here's my tweet with a thread of more details on the project https://twitter.com/PrinceofThanks/status/1848951852458774806

Where I can find all episode of the OVA tournament, and it is canon?
I've finished the first season and when i looked up what to watch next i was told to watch the ova national championships but it doesn't seem to have been dubbed so i have a few questions first any news about it getting a dub if no news do you think it's worth holding onto hope for it getting one since the new season is currently getting dubbed.
It seems like this is an important part of the story and not something to skip over right? even though later seasons of the show have already gotten dubs.
any opinions on whether i should wait for a dub, skip it and watch the next season or read the manga (I don't like watching subs) if i read the manga is it worth starting at chapter 1 or wherever the national championships takes place
As a tennis player myself, I find it a bit odd how unrealistic PoT became, especially after the original series. The players are middle schoolers (7th to 9th grade), but in reality, their physique and mental state are that of high schoolers already. The strength and level of players exhibited in the show were also that of high school level players. The best reference they could’ve used is the best teenage player of all time, Rafa Nadal. He entered the pro scene at 15 yrs old. Defeated a Top 5 in the world (Carlos Moya) at 16 y.o., if I remember correctly. Nadal’s prowess and storyline fits perfectly with Ryoma’s narrative of conquering the tennis scene in Japan and the world. Ryoma, at 15 y.o., also perfectly fits the freshman high schooler narrative since most 10th graders, or freshman high schoolers, are at 15-16 yrs old (and not a freshman middle schooler). Furthermore, most 3rd yrs in the anime didn’t look middle schoolers. They looked so mature that they’d fit perfectly as graduating Senior High students who would either enter collegiate tennis or the pro scene (Tezuka, Sanada, Yukimura, etc. are perfect for the pro set-up). Then, those players who they played in the U18 arc looked college players or pros already.
Just my two cents though. PoT is really great, but I think some unrealistic aspects of it ruined it for me. I thought that they should have sticked with the original set of techniques and retained them that way. Though the techniques in the original series were still a bit out of this world, they can still be explained and salvaged by true tennis physics. The following seasons after the original run are not appealing anymore, especially when they added “power-like” moves.
Seriously.
I feel like the New Prince of Tennis matches are rushed af and they barely show anything unlike the matches in the 1st series, is it like that in the manga or is it just an anime thing?
Will there be a season two? If so, do you know when? I want to see the main cast get stronger.
Just finished the first 179 eps and don't know where to watch the rest can't find the national championship ova thing it's just gone
I was scrolling while at work and I see there’s a new season of the U-17 World Cup!
Hello I am wondering if the Prince of Tennis 2 is like another person or another season or just reboot of the original show? I don't want to spoil myself so it is hard for me to look into. So I would love someone explaining with minimal amounts of spoilers what the difference is.
Hi, is there anyone out there willing to beta read a Prince of Tennis fanfiction (ryosaku pairing)
Just finished season 1
I'm watching the adaptation and I really just want to see the anime, was interested in it before the adaptation. Where? Even if I could buy it, where? I can't even find the manga translated online.
Anyone know if the original dub from 2006 is still around anywhere or is it just completely lost to the void because of the new dub?
Anybody know when the chapters after 350 are getting translated? I can find them in Japanese just fine but nowhere in English. I’m tired of waiting years for chapters man I started this show in middle school.
Finished the season till ep 178 and I'm aware National tournament OVAs are up next. I can't seem to find them anywhere though I watched season 1 on Crunchyroll and I noticed Prince of tennis 2 is present here as well but not National OVAs
I’m rewatching Prince of Tennis because I never finished it when I was younger. I’m really enjoying it and am currently about to finish the Kanto finals.
I know there are OVAs that cover some of the later matches, but do they include the entire international tournament? And does the series end there?
I’ve heard there’s a Prince of Tennis Part 2, but I don’t know much about it or whether it’s been adapted into anime. I’d really appreciate it if someone could guide me on where to go next. I’m loving Ryoma’s journey and would like to keep following it.
I remember a few years ago there were 20 minute videos that compacts a few episodes into one. I can't find any of them now. Does anyone have a link to one or something similar? The earlier episodes are kinda too slow for me now.
I'm watching the series again and after the original season run when Ryoma goes to America I can't find the Wimbledon tournament or the Japanese National Tournament. In the u- 17 season at the end they show stronger people coming and Ryoma gets excited and in the next season it skips over all that. Are these two missing story arcs animated?
Does someone know the title of this BGM?
I like super powers and sports anime, and I've been wanting to watch it but before that I want to know which season or arc in your opinions is the best because I don't really wanna watch it if the first arc is amazing and then it's just a downfall or smth, thanks in advance
...and yet, crunchyroll still doesn't have the complete collection of the previous ones. Especially the National Tournament OVA. ☹️
This might just be the first series for me, where the sequel/second part is as good if not better than the first.
I just got done reading upto the Germany matches, and honestly can't say whether the PoT is better or the NPoT.
One thing that I do miss though is the spotlight on the Seigaku boys, like Kaidou, Fuji, Momo and Sadaharu.
When I tried to post, it told me that the sub doesn’t allow attachments/links but also that the sub requires an attachment so I’m confused. Please delete if this is not allowed. …
So I don’t play or watch real life tennis at all, and I stumbled upon this video explaining how Agassi predicted the direction of Becker’s serve by figuring out his habit/tell. This reminded me of how >!Niou predicted which direction Kikumaru would move by observing the subtle tilt of the racket!< Every other post on this sub is complaining about how the techniques are unrealistic which is fair but gets tiring to read. So I thought I’d share an example where the anime mirrors a moment in real life.
