Truly Wholesome/Uplifting Concept Albums?

So, I have been listening to Majestica's "A Christmas Carol" (one of the albums that might fit the bill) and realized that despite PM being a genre full of uplifting or wholesome songs, there are not that many big concept albums that are just uplifting. Even bands like Gloryhammer (who don't have that serious of a tone) end up having stories about death and destruction.

So, what am I missing? Where are the lighthearted fantasy adventures?

Started listening to power metal. Love 'Black Diamond' and 'The Abyss of Your Eyes' from this album. Any more recommendations? Preferably not too cheesy either

Fellow artists / authors, how has power metal inspired you?

I use metal to help me get in the mood for many of the stuff I'm trying to write, especially where Blind Guardian and Symphony X (if you count them or not) are concerned. We have straight up evil songs like the stuff Grave Digger puts out, and sometimes purely mystifying personifications of heavenly glitter like Symphony X's Smoke and Mirrors. Even Sykliner's Symphony in Black is a darker song I return to often for this purpose. But I wanna know how it influenced YOU.

For the record, I think of them as a prog band with some power metal songs, but I adore them with my whole heart.

Brothers of Metal - Prophecy of Ragnarök CD Import issues

Is there a known issue with Brothers of Metal - Prophecy of Ragnarök Digipak CD.

I’ve just bought this and can’t fully import the last song “We believe in Metal” into my computer.

First couple of times I tried to import it, it was rejected completely. Messing about with my import settings by choosing different formats “Apples Lossless, AAC and MP3" at different bitrates I can partially import the song, but not all of it.

Song is supposed to be 4.43 long, but longest import length I have been able to import is 4.09.

I also had problems importing the preceding two songs "Sleipnir" and "Fire And Blood", but after just a few tries I managed to import the entirety of both songs.

Queensrÿche

Got suggested Silent Lucidity by Queensrÿche by Spotifys "DJ" and I'm really liking it. Anyone have any suggestions of stuff to check out? I'm a big Sonata,Avantasia/ Edguy,, Stratovarius and beast in black fan.

Am I the only one who thinks Gloryhammer doesn’t actually embrace the “cheese”?

Don’t get me wrong, I think Gloryhammer is full of talented musicians, and I even enjoy some of their songs. But the more I listen, the more I feel like they don’t actually embrace the "cheese" in the same way bands like Rhapsody, Stratovarius, or Helloween do.

With bands like Rhapsody, the cheesiness feels organic—it’s a genuine commitment to the epic, over-the-top fantasy storytelling. It’s like they’re unapologetically nerdy, pouring their heart into creating these intricate worlds and tales. It’s cheesy, sure, but it’s also sincere.

Gloryhammer, on the other hand, feels like they’re taking the same power metal tropes but exaggerating them to the point of parody. Their titles and themes seem more like they’re mocking the genre rather than celebrating it. Songs like “Holy Flaming Hammer of Unholy Cosmic Frost” and “Vorpal Laserblaster of Pittenweem” feel less like storytelling and more like punchlines. It’s like they’re winking at the audience instead of genuinely immersing them in a fantasy.

To me, true cheese is about being vulnerable—putting your emotions out there and not caring if it’s “too much.” When bands mock those elements, it takes away the heart of what makes power metal so special. And I’ve even seen fans of Gloryhammer dismiss bands like Rhapsody for “taking themselves too seriously,” which feels ironic because that sincerity is what makes power metal work in the first place.

Does anyone else feel this way? Like I said, I don’t hate Gloryhammer—I just find it hard to connect with their music because it feels less like they’re embracing the genre and more like they’re making fun of it.

TL;DR: Gloryhammer is fun, but their over-the-top parody style lacks the sincerity that makes power metal cheese resonate for me, cheesiness is not ultimately bad as well, there's a difference between cheese and straight mocking.
