Racists not welcome.
Portsmouth is the second largest city in the ceremonial county of Hampshire on the south coast of England.
Located mainly on Portsea Island, it is the United Kingdom's only island city. Portsmouth is situated 64 miles south west of London and 19 miles south east of Southampton.
The city has a population of 205,400 and is the only city in the United Kingdom with a greater population density than London.
The City of Portsmouth and Portsmouth Football Club are both nicknamed "Pompey".
More information about our wonderful and historical city, including details of the well documented naval base which is home to the Royal Navy can be found here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Portsmouth

Hi all,
Last Tuesday 26th November I lost my phone driving on northbound on the M275 out of town. Just before joining the motorway, I had stopped and placed my phone on the roof of the car before becoming distracted and driving off. Just after I passed the Shell garage, in the 50 mph zone, it flew off onto the road!
I returned about 10 mins later I couldn't see it as it was dark and very busy during rush hour. I live north of London and so I haven't been able to return to Portsmouth.
I am keen to find the phone as there are some family photo's of Christmas, birthdays etc that I would like to recover if possible (and yes, I am now backing up to the cloud, lesson learned there).
For anyone that drives on this road regularly, please keep a look out for it, I've included a map below. It is a Samsung S20 and was in a blue case. I appreciate it could well have disintegrated due to the traffic but there is a chance it could have been knocked clear of the road.
Many thanks for your help,
Matt
Considering moving to Gosport and wondered if there’s anything I should know about the area?
I’ve lived in Havant and Winchester and love both areas but am being priced out. I like Portsmouth city center although it can be a bit mad for me.
Has anyone else seen a young guy around the Ravelin Park and Guildhall area, who carries a stick with him and seems to 'cast spells' on every lamppost he passes? I saw him for the first time a couple of weeks ago, thought he must be tripping balls or something.. however, I've now seen him 2 more times doing the exact same thing. I'm curious as to what this guy's deal is.
I think his name’s Cliff and he lives somewhere around north end. Some people say he’s harmless but I’ve heard of him being abusive in the evenings and he’s been in trouble with the police. Also a few years ago there was a man constantly saying “it’s the end of the world tomorrow”, I don’t know if it’s the same man or not but does anyone remember seeing him too? I haven’t seen him or them around in years.
Probably one of the best pictures I’ve ever taken
So I saw this morning that the line up for Victorious is dropping next week with a big clue dropping soon. Any ideas who might be headlining? Who would you like to see play at Victorious Festival 2025?
Hello
I am conducting a questionnaire about the Cumberland House Natural History Museum as part of a student project. The goal is to gather feedback on how we can enhance the overall visitor experience at the museum with technology.
If you have visited the museum, your input would be incredibly valuable. I would greatly appreciate it if you could take a few moments to answer the questions.
wtf happened at Fratton station tonight around 8:30. I was waiting for the train, once it arrived the doors wouldn’t open and everyone was waiting. Next thing I know like 20 officers run in, they close the entrance to the station and access to and other platforms. Then 30 minutes later the train doors opened and they just let us leave. I am genuinely curious because I have no idea
If anyone is willing to go outside for ten minutes and come back and tell me what you've seen I will be interested to hear what you have to say. Also if you look east you are likely to see a meteorite.
Hello all, I am in the process of buying a property in Milton and one of the searches has come back showing a colourful map with my road being red or "High Risk to groundwater" (and moderate to surface water I might add).
Is this pretty common in Portsmouth and is it really a problem if you don't have a basement? I noticed that surrounding areas nearby on the map appear to be orange which is mid-high risk anyway?
Groundsure can't tell me why this particular road might be high. Just mentions potential topography, drainage. or even what the ground is made of (I would have assumed the same as the nearby roads!). Thanks
I was up Ports down hill when I spotted these borght lights falling down, they were bright for about 30 seconds to a minute then kind of burned out. Falling sometimes 3 or 4 at a time
Found a bag full of milk bottle tops that I was collecting and was supposed to give away a few years ago but I never got round to it. Are there any local spots (Southsea ideally) that still collect these? They are the standard plastic green milk bottle tops that come with usual supermarket plastic milk bottles.
Cheers!
Going to be spending some time in Portsmouth in January and have a few questions.

Hi everyone, I know the bus station had been closed for a while, is that still the case? I need to be, roughly, Morrison’s area, and I will be crossing on the ferry from Gosport, so I want to know, where do I take the bus (number 8?) that will take me in that direction? Any help much appreciated!

Hello, we're moving to Cosham this month and was wondering what's the fastest, most reliable internet in the area?
Thanks!
