Racists not welcome.

Portsmouth is the second largest city in the ceremonial county of Hampshire on the south coast of England.

Located mainly on Portsea Island, it is the United Kingdom's only island city. Portsmouth is situated 64 miles south west of London and 19 miles south east of Southampton.

The city has a population of 205,400 and is the only city in the United Kingdom with a greater population density than London.

The City of Portsmouth and Portsmouth Football Club are both nicknamed "Pompey".

Question

I don’t know if it’s been asked on here before, but I was told that there’s somewhere in Portsmouth, that’s got scorpions roaming about. Is this true? If so, where is it?

Anyone else's internet out?

We're on CityFibre, and it's been down for about 45 minutes. This is the first time we've had an outage with them. Wi-fi is strong, but DNS won't resolve.

Sparklers in Portsmouth

Is there any place I can buy a small box of sparklers? Also, are there any laws about using sparklers in your backyard?

Treat or treating in Southsea 🎃

Hi everyone! My little sister is visiting for the week, and she’ll be celebrating Halloween with us. Does anyone know where we can go trick-or-treating safely in Southsea? We want to make sure people are friendly and actually hand out candy, haha! I live near Festing Road, if that helps!

Child-friendly pub (or similar) on the way to the Port…

UPDATE: thanks guys, we looked at Sovreigns but they couldnt fit us in - but farmhouse 10 mins away could so we’ve booked there!

Hey guys

We’re after recommendations of a pub or something where we can stop off to for a relatively inexpensive meal with the kids on our way to the Ferry Terminal.

Would happily take a ‘Spoons or similar, but ideally would love a play area to let the little ones run off steam.

Any recommendations?

Thank you in advance.

City Council

Hi, i am a student here in UOP. I am now in my second year so i have been here since September 2022. I have applied for my student exemption for the city council back at 2022 and then i also applied again last year and this year. I keep getting mail saying i owe 970 Pounds which is frustrating me. Now they are threatening to take my belongings even though i am a student. Can someone explain to me why i am still getting 970 Pounds even though i applied for an exemption and also is there a way i can get rid of the 970 Pounds bill? Much appreciated ♥️

Nuclear Siren Test- 30th October

Just in case hear you hear it in an hour's time the nuclear emergency siren is being tested at 0930. See statement by HMNB Portsmouth;

"please note there will be a full test of the Naval Base’s nuclear emergency alerting siren at 0930 today which may be able to be heard outside of the base.

It is a statutory requirement to test the alarm three times a year and this test is being conducted in agreement with Portsmouth and Gosport local authorities.

The two-tone siren will be sounded for one minute for the test."

It sounds a WW2 air raid siren going off.

Pubs with live music

i.e guy with a guitar or small group of people doing popular covers, not actual gigs with original music.

Is there anywhere in Portsmouth you can recommend where there’s a guarantee you’ll find this kind of entertainment on a regular basis? Gunwharf quay, city centre, old Portsmouth.

Travelling in for a Friday night and google isn’t that helpful.

Hi all, I'm looking at buying a flat on either one of these two roads. Is one better than the other or both fairly similar locations?

Cheers

Where's the best place to go for an actual bonfires on bonfires night

Every event I find seems to only be doing fireworks, and I am honestly fed up of it.

It's bonfire night, the bonfire is integral. It's going from a distinct traditional event to just a boring generic fireworks display which happens all the time for any event or holiday.

Don't care if I have to go a bit further out of field, I just want a damn bonfire.
