I was wondering if anyone could help me in finding books/documentaries that explain well the symbologism and history of chinese porcelain.

For now I saw the one available on YT made by BBC News and I found it interesting, but I want to go a bit more in depth. Is there anything that is advised for someone that is starting to be interested in this world? Thank you very much!

I’ve seen this Walküre mark, but never with the mountain. Anyone have an idea for the date of my coffee maker?

Can porcelain survive outside in winter in Maine?

My mom goes on amazing walks on her land every day. She has a half dozen antique Buddha statues tucked into nooks and crannies along the path.

I’m looking at two lovely vintage white porcelain ones and am wondering if they’d be up to maine winters (and summer!) nestled in a tree hollow?

Thanks in advance

Can anyone help ID this mark?

This is a broken porcelain (?) bowl found in an old fire/trash pit along side other objects which have been confidently identified between 1890-1920 (if that matters). Thanks!

lladró porcelain Christopher Columbus

Hi all! I recently came across a stunning Lladró porcelain figure of Christopher Columbus. I’m curious to know more about this specific piece—its history, any unique details, and where it might be valued or sold today. Does anyone have experience with this or similar Lladró pieces? Any insights or recommendations on where to learn more would be greatly appreciated!

Information on this brand

Can anyone give me any information on this manufacturer? I can't find much online, other than that they have a few different ranges - animal figurines, 'petite ladies' and figurines of children. I'm not really interested in worth, I would just like to know more :)

Need Help Pricing a Vintage Pirkenhammer Coffee Set (around 100 years old)

Hi all,

I’m looking for advice on how to price a Pirkenhammer coffee set that I’m thinking of selling. This set was passed down in my family, and I’m not sure of the exact age, but I know Pirkenhammer has been known for its fine porcelain for a long time.

Here are some details about the set:

  • It’s a complete coffee set for 6 people, including cups, saucers, coffee pot, sugar bowl, and creamer.
  • The condition is excellent—no chips, cracks, or visible wear.
  • The design is very classic and elegant, but I don’t know if it’s part of any special collection or limited edition.

Does anyone have experience with Pirkenhammer porcelain or know what a fair market price might be for something like this? I’ve tried doing some research, but I’m finding it hard to pin down a value. Also, if you know the best places to sell vintage sets like this (online or in-person), I’d love some suggestions.

Thanks in advance for any insights!

I found this URL with the same design that I have, that asks around 30 bucks for each cup + dish:
