Illinois has next to nothing to do unless you've never been or only been to a few times. It's full of corn an drugs and that's really about it unless you want to talk about the actual absurd taxing, even on the drugs!! Weed is dirt cheap to grow and yet it'll cost you a arm and a leg to buy plus they won't let you grow it without the bs only able to be used here and not worth the price medical marijuana card. The people here are generally really rude. I've lived here my entire life and it's honestly just gotten worse over time. It's sad about the only place as boring as us is Alaska and that's only because they have as much snow as we have corn and in all honesty it might be nice to have some consistent weather for once because it changes every few mins. Just why.
If demographic crises aren't addressed, how do you envision society functioning as populations age and shrink? Are there alternative systems or structures you believe could replace current ones to support this shift?
I’m trying to remember a motivational song with drums at the intro or so, the artist has the word “kid” in his name
I want to make my own projections for the world's population in the next 30-40 years, but I can't even find good mortality rates statistics. I want mortality statistics per 1000 people in the age groups 0-5, 5-10, 10-15, ..., 90+, why is it so hard to get it? Nobody has it? Are those WHO's statistics pulled out of their asses?
There's so much information about the world's population declines outside of SubSaharan Africa. As I write this, I'm watching another documentary about the replacement rate.
And it is, of course, all valid.
But the projections they are offering frustrate me because they are hopelessly flawed.
Because it seems that no one discussing replacement rates is discussing the fact that human fertility has HALVED since 1970.
We aren't just HAVING less kids, it's HARDER to get pregnant. Current trend lines suggest that successful conception will require medical intervention by 2045.
And I don't know how this alters the replacement rate trend lines. No one is talking about it
But logically, it seems that the decline will happen between 50-100% FASTER than predicted.
In such a scenario, one is faced with the realization that we do not currently have social or economic systems capable of coping with this decline.
Our world, everything in the human sphere depends on growth and without it, none of this works.
Is Earth overpopulated?
Entire Earth population would fit within a square of 100 x 100 miles (160 x 160 km), assuming people are standing 5-6 ft (1.5 - 2 m) apart.
Of course, this is an impractical exercise, but shows that we are pretty scattered across the planet.
People tend to congregate in big cities, but otherwise there is so much available space.

What predictions did scientists made decades ago or 100 years ago about how big the human population would be today? These predictions were exagerated or were they legit?
Alternative question: how many Homo sapiens passed the 1 year mark, since the beginning of times? (Death under 1 year is considered infant mortality)
Last but not least: is this the right r/ for this question?
