She sponsors one of Pontypridds Rugby players, a mysterious name to be heard over the tannoy every time Dale Stuckley is mentioned.
As I'm relocating to Pontypridd in a month, I'm looking for accommodations for a family of 3 including a kid. I'm new to Cardiff. Please recommend any specific areas or post code with frequent transportation to Nantgarw as this is my work location and in terms of safety, shops and nurseries around? Thanks!
Shwmae!
Where do you go locally for decent live music?
Yes, Cardiff… but I’m asking about “Ponty and locality”. I’m trying to find some good local / small bands to watch! 😊
I’ve lived here ten years and it’s time I got out a bit more.
Diolch!
My church is having a conference in Pontypridd at the Chapel on Sion. It looks like the Blueberry is the only hotel in the area and it’s booked. Does anyone know of a place I could stay nearby? I noticed that Google maps is often missing places, so I wondered if someone local would know.
Thank you!
I recently moved to Pontypridd and I'm curious how people deal with the lack of solid bins and just having bags. What do you do with them in the weeks before they're taken? Leave them out and then move them later hoping they're not too wet or trashed by animals?
Anyone have any good storage solutions?
I know you can still technically buy a wheelie bin and store them in there but I'm 5'2" and so I'm not sure that's the best solution for me. Not to mention the idea of if a bag breaks and then having to clean or tip that bin out.
Thanks!
Hello all. I am thinking of moving to pontypridd but my image of it is rather grim. I like the house prices and what I can get for my money. I work in cardiff so need to commute and I hate the A470. What are the nice areas to live in? I don’t really want to live on a steep hill and would like to be near a station. I like the countryside and hiking however. Can anyone suggest good areas or places to avoid? How does ponty compare to caerphilly or treforest?
I'm new to pontypridd and looking to make some friends...
Hello Ponty Pridd folks o/ I am looking for an individual named Chris, he trained dogs for the UK military and has one odd eye that looks in the other direction. We served together in the Persian Gulf on an ATB vessel and he was in charge of our security. I lost his address and have been trying to get in contact to say hello for ages. Last time we hung out we shared a Cider in a pub in Dubai and he and Sgt Kinney gave me shit for not being able to finish it 🤣. Does anyone happen to know him? I just know he lives in PontyPridd and is Welsh.
I just moved to treforestt one day ago and looking for some friends...
I know this is insane to ask here but does anyone from the area go to Bridgend weekly, being there before 6am?? After a year of looking I finally found work! The only issue is I don't have a car to get myself there and transport doesn't run at those times.
Hello everyone, I hope you are all well.
I just recently moved Pontypridd, and very amazed by how beautiful the surrounding are. I would love to go on hike in this weekend. I do not want to go too far away, just perhaps a short hike to have a look out of the city.
If anyone could recommend, I will very much appreciate.
Thanks,
Hey all.
I'm currently looking at doing masters in Forensics at USW.
However, I will be moving with my 10 and 6 year old from Cornwall and hopefully settle in Wales.
I was hoping to get some information on what it's like for young families and schools? My parents are moving to Porthcawl (too expensive to rent for me).
I will be coming ro visit and look around in Easter holiday. I don't know any of the good or bad areas, schools or any areas that could be better nearby.
I'm a single mum and do drive so transport isn't an issue.
Thank you fellow celts 😀
Quite enjoying the music drifting up from the Park, to be fair. 🏴
Are residents planning to attend or are we hiding away?
If so, which looks like a good day to take my young adult kids? 😊
I am trying to help my father-in-law search for his brothers or someone that might know them so I hope that I can post this here.
Twelve years ago, my father-in-law discovered that his biological father wasn't actually his father, and that his true father was not from Iceland (Where we are from). He underwent a DNA test that revealed the identities of his father and also 2 men who are likely his brothers.Regrettably, it appears that his father, David Gwyn Parsons, born on May 1, 1933, passed away in 1981.
David Gwyn Parsons was the son of Trevor Parsons, 1903-1967, and Ethel Davies, 1906-1995, both from Pontypridd, Wales. It appears that David went to live in Dublin sometime around 1967. Unfortunately I have no other information about David's life or whereabouts after 1967.
I am currently seeking information about two individuals who may be my father-in-laws brothers. Their names are Mark G. Parsons (born in 1958) and Timothy C. Parsons (born in 1960), and they were born in Pontypridd, Wales.
My father-in-law was born in December 1970 in Iceland. It's likely that his biological father arrived here in February or March of that year.
I sincerely hope that someone here has any information. He has been searching for his biological family since he found out about them and has tried to find out their whereabouts on his own, but there is only so much a one person can do.
Please let me know if you have any information. It would be greatly appreciated.
Would you all be so kind as to sign this petition if you feel that this is a wrong as I do. This type of care allows older people with dementia and other conditions that come with old age to remain in thier own homes until it is absolutely necessary for them to go into assisted living and helps them keep that independence that is slowly taken away as we get older and need more help. This allows them to feel like they are still somewhat independent and still have control over their own lives.
Please consider signing the link is below, thank you in advance.

An old chapel has been repurposed as a community place, they had a lovely open mic evening not long ago, details are below :)
Just wondering if this happened to anyone else? Lighting flashed followed by the power going out for a few seconds.
