I'm about 10 months away from my wedding date and have yet to start dress shopping. I'm absolutely terrified of the whole process. When I was a bridesmaid for a friend's wedding a couple years ago I had a total meltdown while trying on dresses at a local bridal store. They had almost nothing in my size (and I've gone up a couple sizes since then) and everything made me feel so ugly. I see so many gorgeous plus sized brides out there, but I just don't have the same proportions (I'm a lot smaller up top). I also wasn't always as big as I am now, so the "image" I have in my head of me as a bride is just so wildly different than what the reality is going to be. Just the thought of trying dressing on fills me with so much embarrassment that I know I don't want anyone to come shopping with me. Does anyone have any tips on how to make this process any easier? I'm scared I'm going to want to cancel the whole wedding once I see myself in a dress.
Can anyone recommend a budget friendly wedding dresses shops or amazon yall have bought from?
Hello! My friend wants me to ask you guys what arm cover or caplet yall suggest. She wants something that covers just the bicep and back of arms area.
Here are the tricky parts making it hard for her to find a style of caplet:
The back of the dress already has a design that goes all the way up to the neck--so she wants something that doesnt cover up the back design.
The front sleeves go part way down the top of the shoulder --so its not like a thin strap--so it makes it hard to find a style that will go over it and look cohesive.
I am getting married in May. I want something to help with a little bit of tummy control. I have several pairs already and they are not comfortable enough to wear all day. What did you use? Did you like it and was it comfortable?
I’m eloping in November, last minute decision, and I need a dress! Any ideas of cheaper places for dresses?
I fell in love with the dress and it’s in the higher end of price range. I’d love to buy a used one and have only found small sizes on resale sites so far.
This is my wedding outfit! I'm super excited and am going to get it altered. You can't really tell from the photo, but the front looks like lapels on a blazer. I am curious what people think about 1) getting the sleeves cut off, 2) whether I should wear a plunge bra ( which is impossible to find for some reason) or a lace bra that peaks out under ( probably in black), and 3) whether we think this would look good with a veil.
Hi everyone!
I was wondering if any of you had links or recommendations for bridal outfits leading up to the wedding (eg. bridal shower, bachelorette party, etc). I need a mixture of nice and casual outfits and I am having such a hard time finding ones that are cute.
Thank you!!
EDIT:
In case this helps other people, these are the ones I've already bought (but I'm still looking for others):
Margaret Midi Dress from Jessakae
Floral Embroidered Dress from Bloomchic
Hiya, been searching the sub & noticed most people seem to have shopped online, and those who didn’t, are US-based. Has anyone had a nice experience shopping/ trying things on in-store in London, UK? Bonus points if it’s not super traditional/ formal. Doesn’t even have to be a “wedding” dress, might actually prefer it if it’s not, I’m definitely not a traditional “bride”, but I still want to feel nice. Doing it all on a shoestring budget.
Hey y'all! I need help!
I have a wedding I'm attending late next month and I need to find a cute option for wedding guest dresses or jumpsuits, leaning more dress. The dress code is semi-formal but I don't mind going more formal.
I'm around 22-24 US size and my budget is $150 max though I would love to stay under $100. I've looked at a lot of sites and I feel like there are never any cute options.
I would love y'alls help please I'm desperate. Also, I live in Texas so it might still be hot so keep that in mind. And I'm Black, dark-skinned so something that would flatter my skin tone. Oh and fit my chest, I'm a 46 DD 48 D or so.
Thank y'all so much!!
I am over seeing size 2 models in dresses. It's really hard to tell how the dress will look on curves. Maybe I'm just being extra sensitive about it but I am just ready to give up and I haven't even tried any dresses on. Has anyone found a website where you can see the dresses on plus sized models?
I have too many subreddit I'm modding and I haven't been able to devote time here.
Wanna be a mod? Let me know!
I'm too much of a tomboy to ever wear shape wear. But I have a wedding coming up and I want to wear something but I don't know where to start.
Maybe TMI but I have an umbilical hernia so I need something with a lot of firmness. Does anybody have any suggestions?
Hi everyone! My fiancé and I are eloping in October and I’m looking for a dress that’s midi length and less than $500 (hopefully closer to the $150-200 range). We’re not having a big wedding ceremony or party so I don’t want a super fancy ballgown.
I’ve found a few online that are affordable but they’ve mostly been on fast fashion websites like SHEIN. While I really don’t want to support that type of business — especially not on my wedding day — I’m starting to really feel pressured about getting one in time.
Plus let me know if you guys have any recommendations!
I ordered three dresses to try on through Azazie's website, and it's saying I've hit the limit of my at-home try ons. Do I need to return the ones I have before I can order more, or is three the absolute limit?
