Something that I don't get.
The dude occasionally disappears and travels back in time to random times.
His mother dies in a car crash.
There is a scene where he travels back in time and get into a train and meets his mother and talks to her.
Later he meets his father and talks with him in a kitchen, his father asks why can't he prevent his mother from getting into that car crash. He answers that he can't, that he never has enough time.
But... didn't he just traveled back in time and met his mother in the train few scenes ago ? Why couldn't he tell her that he is her son from the future and not to get in the car in that specific date because of the accident that will happen?
Here is the train scene https://youtu.be/OlPauBNIDAQ?si=sj5BMbkSbcbpG2qI
I don't get it... is this a movie mistake?
How did Franny, in Meet The Robinsons, not recognize the younger version of Lewis despite knowing him since childhood?
So I'm rewatching Pirates of the Carribean 2 - specifically the scene where Will is swapping out the drawing of the key with the actual key.
Will is/was a more than novice sword maker - probably 2-3 "levels" below master. Will would have had more than ample knowledge of working and shaping steel/iron and probably other metals.
Seems like it would have made more sense to have Jack and friends find the chest first, then find Will amd have Will work on making a second key to open the chest.
Besides the story needing to reintroduce us to Norrington and bring us to Tia Dalme(sp) - is there any reason something like that couldn't work ?
At the start of Soul 22 points out that souls can't feel touch, and demonstrates this by hitting Joe multiple times. Then later one, Joe puts the sycamore seed in 22's hand and feeling it calms her down. But her eyes were closed. So the only was she could have known that the seed and Joe's hand was there would be through feeling touch. But souls can't.
did anybody else think that Lela and Tanner were siblings at first or was it just me? please let me know.
So I'm thinking of that "Snow White and the Huntsman" film from like a decade ago and even though it's not out yet the upcoming Disney live action version. This is more of a casting than plot issue but...
The evil queen in the story is jealous of Snow White's beauty and goes after her for that. In the Huntsman the queen was played by Charlize Theron. In the upcoming one she's played by Gal Gadot.
So...you're telling us that Charlize Theron and Gal Gadot are somehow insecure and thinking they're not beautiful enough? Yeah it's subjective and even incredibly attractive people can have body image issues but...Charlize Theron and Gal Gadot?!
When the final girl kills the vampire that made her she became human again. When the vampire SHE killed was turned he immediately killed the vampire that made him.
Why didn’t he turn human again?
It would have been impossible for Sosa to send his assassins after Tony, since the assassins didn’t understand English and Sosa couldn’t speak Spanish.
like how was he even able to keep him for 5 years? even his vet gf didn’t doubt where caeser came from, wouldn’t she know that apes as pets aren’t allowed?
or even the first incident with the neighbor when caeser was young, did no one report it or anything?
The whole plan relies on framing a person that wasn't even in the country at the time the murder happened - and he has multiple witnesses and flight records to prove it.
I mean, if he did it because he remembered being called out about it, that would create a paradox, but other than that, why would he draw a murder scene when asked what he wanted to be when he grew up?
After Dagger squad were spotted by the SAM's, why didn't they exit the way they'd entered? Radar would've been less effective and the squad would've had more cover.
(Not sure whether a plot hole or continuity error.) Thanks for comments.
Why didn't Larry just buy the museum?
So in the end of the film he decides to sell his company realizing being in the museum is what he loves. And to ensure his friends will keep being there he uses the money to do a big donation anonymously and basically strong arm the board into running it the way he wants, going back to being a simple low pay nightguard.
But why did he do that? Why not buy the museum, fire the pompous asshole above him, and run it as a leader? He could still act as a night guard too if he wanted to and he'd have no one to question him. Plus he could still make the kind of money he was making as a businessman,
Basically the title
Ok maybe not a plot hole but still So in dune they use a thumper to call the worm with a rhythmic sound, since it’s obviously electrical and not mechanical that means it has to have a battery, I’m imagining either the fremen have a charging station for these with USB cables, or they use AAs
I honestly don’t know which was more ludicrously convenient;
The fact that there was a titan dentist who had the right machinery to exract Kong’s decaying tooth and put in a replacement that fit his gums perfectly.
OR
That Monarch had an untested prototype infinity gauntlet that not only fit Kong’s arm like a glove but ironically had the right injections to cure his frostbite.
A reoccurring theme throughout the film is that dogs can sense vampires and will try to attack them.
You see it when Nanook goes after vampire Michael
You even see this at the beginning of the movie, when Max's dog growls at David. But how was Max even able to have a dog that could stand to be in his presence but still growl at other vampires?
Like the whole dog sensing vampires thing was such a big plot point and used as foreshadowing, only for them to just completely scrap the logistics of it for the plot twist at the end.
If anyone has any thoughts, theories or perspectives, I'd love to hear
Discusses time travel plot hole so spoilers
I love all of the Jumanji films so make a habit of watching them frequently, but on a rewatch I’ve noticed a time travel plot hole. I know time travel opens up these sorts of things but wanted to see people’s thoughts.
The video game is starts in 1996 when Alex starts it, then he is stuck in the game until the other 4 start playing the game after finding it at school in 2017. I get that they would each leave the game the way they came in, but would Alex not decide to destroy the game or lock it away. As we clearly see Spencer, Fridge, Bethany and Martha destroy it at school when they spawn back in 2017. How did the game end up at the school, someone may of still gone and donated the game, is it a little bit careless of Alex to just be ‘waiting’ for them to arrive in 2017. At least in the original Jumanji Alan and Sarah make an effort to try meet Judy and Peter.
I’ve just rewatched Casper for childhood nostalgic purposes and I love how well it still holds up. One thing I just can’t move past though is why Dr Harvey would be scared of ghosts when initially going to Whipstaff and seeing Casper? Like his job is a ghost psychologist, wouldn’t he be used to meeting ghosts all the time. Are we now saying he’s been a scam artist this entire time and lying to people who have just lost their loved ones. Im willing to accept this as the answer, I just wish it was addressed in some way in the film. What do people think?
MASSIVE SPOILER! Do not read if you haven’t watched the movie Mememto (2000) directed by Christopher Nolan. Story was written by his brother Jonathan Nolan. This is the third time I’ve watched it.
Near the end of the movie when Leonard was dragging Jimmy’s body down the stairs, Jimmy whispered “Sammy”.
If Jimmy was dead, how did he whisper a word? It is possible he just passed out and whispered one word before he lost consciousness again. But that’s kinda weird. If that’s the case how the heck did he know about Sammy? According to Teddy (who’s a big liar), Teddy said the hotel front desk guy called Jimmy and told Jimmy about Leonard. So that implies Leonard told the front desk guy about Sammy Jenkins and front desk guy told Jimmy? That’s kinda weird the front desk guy would share so many details with Jimmy.
Another possibility, Jimmy knew Leonard personally and might’ve even be friends with him. When Jimmy first met Leonard in the abandoned house, he looked as if he recognized him. Jimmy immediately called Leonard “the memory man”. So maybe they were friends and Leonard told Jimmy about Sammy Jenkins.
If dead Jimmy didn’t whisper “Sammy” we wouldn’t get the ending of the movie. It was because he whispered “Sammy” that made Leonard realize Jimmy wasn’t the real John G and that Teddy was manipulating him into killing the wrong man.
So, did Jimmy actually whisper “Sammy” or was that all in Leonard’s head?
Nolan brothers always trying to mess with our heads hahaha
Here's something I noticed in watching this film tonight: Supposedly the movie is set in 1995, and Judgement Day is supposed to be August 29th, 1997. Sarah asks Arnie how Cyberdyne came to be as powerful as they are at the time of Judgement Day, and Arnie explains that "in a few months" Dyson will create a revolutionary type of microprocessor, and "In 3 years, Cyberdyne will become the largest supplier of military computer systems. All stealth bombers are upgraded with Cyberdyne computers, becoming fully unmanned. Afterwards, they fly with a perfect operational record. The Skynet funding bill is passed. The system goes online on August 4th 1997. Human decisions are removed from strategic defense. Skynet begins to learn at a geometric rate. It becomes self-aware 2:14am ET, August 29th. In the panic, they try to pull the plug."
If the movie is SET IN 1995, and Dyson is still a few months away from creating the "revolutionary type of microprocessor" and we're also.... either 3 years away at this time - or once the microprocessor is made we're 3 years away - from Cyberdyne becoming the largest supplier of military computer systems..... .... wouldn't Judgement Day be too soon for this all to fit together?
How on earth did the chameleon copy Po's moves? Doesn't she have to suck the ability out of his soul so that he can't fight anymore? She says it herself, she can't take an appearance and just fight like them. This had me confused.
Wishing I was knee deep in the water somewhere
Got the blue sky breeze and it don't seem fair
Only worry in the world is the tide gonna reach my chair
If you're knee deep in the water, the tide has already reached your chair.
She has the upper body of a woman. How can she breathe (and talk, for that matter), with a human’s respiratory system?
He's a teddy bear who came to life, so he has no bloodstream, which is essential for carrying alcohol and THC. His body is just stuffing which can't absorb or be impacted by those substances. There's really no reason for him to be drinking and smoking, and especially not having the same effects they have on a human.
The explanation for why they are all in a simulation is so that the robots can harvest the humans’ energy. However, this begs 2 massive questions:
Where are they getting the food to grow the humans if all plants died due to lack of sunlight?
It is a basic law of nature that the higher up the food chain, the more biomass is lost, so the more the animals need to consume to survive (eg. a lion may need 1/2 a gazelle a day, but a gazelle only needs a fraction of that mass in grass). This is due to the digestion process requiring energy, as well as not all biomass being digested, and some energy going to the brain to function and the heart to beat.
This means that the robots would be much better off using the energy from the biomass they are feeding the humans, rather than just eating the humans.
I'm confused about Dame Devin.
It was revealed that she was also a lottery girl and graduated as a lady royal.
But the point of being a lottery girl is that a commoner gets the chance to go to school.
BUT Dame Devin shouldn't be a commoner, because Queen Isabella was her sister in law, which meant that her bother was King Reginald.
How can she be a commoner when her brother is a king?
Like how did she even know his last name? He wasn’t famous among the fireflies, and they didn’t really know anything about him. The only thing that was known was that he was a smuggler taking the immune girl to Salt Lake City. The flashback where it’s revealed that Joel killed her dad she only heard Marlene say his name, but that’s not really enough to narrow anything down. And she just managed to somehow get a tip about his brother Tommy
