One thing that I noticed different in the old graphics was that the bloom was way better. Nowadays it's basically nonexistent when you have it turned on, at least increasing it will make the game way closer to old graphics. Edit: typo
One planetman asked to publish a post here with his opinion about the game. It is no longer possible to register new accounts on reddit from my country.
. First of all, I hope will see this the developers. Long before the merger of the Miller and Cobalt servers, when the talk of merging the servers came up, I was always against it and there are several serious reasons for this...
3-1. Increased ping - I think there is no need to explain here. For me personally, as a resident of the Far North-East, living on the edge of the world, this is a particularly sore subject. 3-2. Increased meat -> Increased dynamics / 3-3. Lack of less massive, calmer/local lines -> Increased monotony of gameplay - I really appreciate the gameplay before the merger of servers, since I can get both meaty assaults in the center of the map and local "border" battles, which are essentially two different types of gameplay. This diversifies the gameplay. Now, due to the overcrowding of players in all directions, I cannot participate in calmer battles. The only time when this is possible is very late, when everyone goes to bed, and I cannot be in the game 24/7. For connoisseurs of border shootouts or balanced alternation of gameplay, this is also a minus and a reason to leave the game more often and earlier. ... and from all of the above comes ... 3-4. Increased burnout - finally, all of the above accelerates and increases the degree of human burnout, which also does not contribute to a healthy online. Of all the known ways to combat gaming burnout, or as I call it "Game Intoxication", the very first thing we know is rest or at least a slowdown in the same activity. The second is a change in activity and, according to experiments, the more radically the activity differs from the previous one, the better the brain and the player feel. Simply put, the game loses its methods of combating burnout. The recently announced fishing can partially help with this, but firstly, not everyone likes fishing, for such players, border skirmishes are just what is needed, and secondly, with such an overabundance of online, fishing will become difficult. Fishing will have an effect later, when the online drops due to the unification of servers and there is time and place for this fishing, but the already left, tired and burned out players will no longer be brought back. P.S. Remember how with the super-APC update... At first everyone was having fun, not noticing the obvious problems, but then many quickly began to get tired and the online began to fall until they were rebalanced. Here is a similar situation, but with even more detrimental consequences for the game, especially in the long term. (With love from Boblight2 - Ephiop)
Anyone else getting an error when trying to redeem this months members bundles?
So wait i just saw they took out the el muerto mask out of inventory that you had to finish by doing all the event missions. What was the point of putting all the work in and doing all the event missions. If the devs just decided to get rid of it.
We got the server merge, we have the players. Bring back the numbers. It isn't really that different if we have the same pop before the merge just on 2 continents instead of 1. And don't give the server stability bs. We've had 900 players for a very long time with construction and everything inside the game. I never had server issues. Don't gaslight us with the server stress bs.
Some may downvote this upon reading title but this particular thing I am referring to is in fact something that should have been patched years ago and yet never has been despite the annoyance it's caused and that is: Being able to continue capping a base despite being backcapped from the only facility you have linked to it. Once had this annoying incident where had like a platoon of VS basically playing ring around the rosie on 3 cut off bases, capped one and they already started ghost capping another why we backcapped them and took about 20 mins to finally stop them when we got backup and started to spread them out. And recently in an alert on Esamir we were trying to re-establish a connection with a cut off and then a group of VS back capped us as we started to retake the base that caused the cut off only for them to start capping one of the cut off bases from the base we were taking from them and then found ourselves stuck in a back and forth fight and ended up losing the cut offs cause of this issue, and finally is an incident on Hossin where VS cost an alert for TR by cutting off part of our territory by constantly zerging from a cut off base and by time managed to halt them was already too late.
It's very simple that you must maintain connections in order to cap a base, if the base you are attacking from is being capped an assault on an adjacent enemy base should immediately pause or start regressing unless you have a second link, I mean you can't start a cap when the facility you own is being backcapped, shouldn't be able to maintain a cap if being backcapped either, seriously what is the logic in this?
If anyone reading this disagrees you either are among the types exploiting this or aren't seeing the big picture of the issues and frustration this causes, factions should not be able to continue capping a base when they are being backcapped. Does an army continue advancing when their beachhead is in danger of being taken? If want this game getting back on track this is among the rather "moderate" things that need to be fixed.
It's the last god damn day of the stupid directive. IT'S FUCKING HALLOWEEN 10/31. STOP FUCKING SKIPPING THE FORGOTTEN FLEET CARRIER EVENT EVERY NEW MAP!
I need to complete 1 or 2 more forgotten carrier events on multiple characters, and its the last thing needed to finish this stupid Halloween directive on multiple characters, and it keeps SKIPPING the stupid event today on Emerlad!!! I've been playing all day and cant continue the stupid directive on some characters because they need 1 of these stupid forgotten fleet carrier events to get to the next tier, and some of my characters need only 1-2 more forgotten fleet events to finish the entire directive.
THERE HAVE BEEN ONLY 2 ALL DAY ON THE LAST DAY OF THE EVENT. And on a normal day, there is anywhere from 7-10 events per day. WTF DEVS!
FIX THIS GOD DAMN SHIT NOW!!!
Coming from Cobalt the server merge made my latency go crazy. If my enemy is very skilled I occasionally get killed right the moment I can notice them peeking. I guess this is usually expected but my game feels so different now it freaks me out. Is this something that can improve in the future?
I don’t actually think the game is dead but the idea using this template was too funny to not make
There is a bug with the VS max overdrive and the anticheat system. Whenever you use the overdrive it kicks you from the server
When I sit in a mana turret, does the +20% shield benefit apply to teammates around me who are not in a seat or mana turret basically to everyone within 50m?
Because I heard that some players want to move to Miller, and some players want to switch back to Soltech, hoping that before the merge, Connery players can choose the server they want, and then automatically merge to Emerald after the expiration date.
Thank you.
I keep getting the G9 error whenever i try logging in on peak hours.
I dunno if its maybe because of the new population on miller and now my South african internet just decided fuck that, but that doesnt make sense since i played 2 days ago on peak hours.
I did all the stuff that the help forums suggested and even just reinstalled the game.
Im gonna be very upset if i cant play after the long awaited merge...
I came back after I heard of the server merge after 2 or 3 years not playing. I have a full certed infiltrator and used to love sitting for hours in a corner and using a knife or silenced sniper to pick of people from behind.
Now I however noticed following things:
I take my time to get on a good position behind enemy lines and then use a Sniper with silencer to kill those that are damaged or standing still. Now however it seems like they always know were I am when they respawn and come to hunt/kill me. The time it takes me to get to the spot vs the time it takes them to find me is frustrating. Am I missing something? . . 2. Onehit knife and amaterasu I remembered that onehitknife was onehit now it seems to be 2hit which kinda defeats its purpose, is there any new alternative? Even the normal default knife seems better. The amaterasu used to be 2 hit if you hit the head once and then the body from afar. Did they change that too?
Why is the server merger called miller but not cobalt? We are cobaltian, we have more players and are more active
I object, the server should be called cobalt not miller, they were merged with our server to be saved.. not the other way around 🐸
It's been a while since we got any real content, I get it that the IP changed hands but we used to get updated content regularly, everything is sorta just stopped, even the payment system stopped working for my region, I cannot pay the frog even if I wanted to 😂
We have a server merger, what now? What's gonna happen? It's been radio silence for a while and call me a conservative but I don't think the fishing update is doing anything, on the contrary it made it seems like dev time and efforts are being wasted into an aspect that no one asked for.
Any ideas of what might happen next will be appreciated.
So basically I've been in a solo fit for about a year now which is definitely fun for pocket orbs and on the go vehicle deployments but a Bastion is no fun if I have no one to fly with, and pulling a colossus feels like a waste of resources if its just me tooling around in it. In the past I ran with groups like FTOT, and SFRI and ended up being in leadership positions but for one reason or another just had to move on, but now I'd like to get back into something like that.
I would say that I'm a good player. Definitely not as good as some that I've seen out there but I've got solid game knowledge and can fill any spot in a squad. I'm looking for a midsize org that doesn't take themselves too seriously and just has fun with the alert.
Found my old discs, thought someone would get a kick out of them.
Can you spectate? I remember seeing someone spectate and live twitch it on stream.
If you can, do you take someone's spot? Like if the serve is up to only 750 player per continent, is it 750 + spectators or 750 including spectators? I won't spectate if I can spectate and it steals someone's place.
Also, am I inane for shooting rockets at random all the time in the general direction of the enemies place because it looks cool and scary from their perspective or do other humans do that too?

It’s so fun—and honestly a bit emotional—to see PlanetSide 2 back in the spotlight, even if it’s just for a limited time and right now only for Europe servers players . It feels like the good old days right now, with epic battles and those iconic moments making a comeback. We’re getting that massive chaos again, with familiar zerg outfits doing their thing in full force. At the same time, we’ve got skilled squads and platoons working hard to defend, break through, or at least hold the lines for as long as they can.
And, of course, the solo “sweats” are still out there farming us—but they’re also falling like flies this time, unable to handle the chaos!
We’re seeing some old good classic veteran players and community leaders from various outfits and clans returning back to try again, along with a boost in new players. Ground and air vehicles are back in full force, making for some huge, unforgettable battles alongside infantry. The fights feel more intense and diverse, with players, squads, and platoons bringing their unique skills and tactics to the field. And the medics—I haven’t seen this many medics in years, that actually healing and reviving (maybe only Cobalt players will get this one 😆).
Whether you’re playing solo, in a squad, rolling with a platoon, or calling the shots in command voice chat, it’s awesome to have so many ways to dive into the action that been mising for so long. We’re seeing tons of intense moments and strategies to try out for first time or again. Tonight, we even had almost 1400-1500 players on Miller at a late hour—not even on a weekend! Three maps were open, with balanced populations and a queue.
Honestly, it’s a bit disappointing the devs didn’t hype this up beforehand to bring back even more old and new players. Just saying 👀—imagine if they’d kicked off the first weekend of the merge with double or x4 XP, plus codes for cool items like Cobalt and Miller patches, emblems, personal nanite or XP boosts, new camos, profile backgrounds like they did with Outfit Wars , or even a “Survivor of the Merge 2024” title and the list go on...
Anyway, here’s hoping this keeps going in a good direction and that the devs will surprise us again for the better in the future. See you all on the battlefields!
