Football 7-2 (3-2)
Struggles on offense continued this week which were not helped by catching the injury bug. A battered Panthers team lost to Virginia 24-19
We have a tough test for our senior night matchup as we host #20 Clemson. That matchup will be at noon and will be broadcast on ESPN
Men’s Basketball 3-0
Our non-conference slate continued this week as we defeated a Murray State team that came to play 83-68 and then beat Gardner-Webb 83-64
This week we host the Backyard Brawl against West Virginia on Friday at 7:00. Then on Monday we host VMI also at 7:00. Both games can be streamed on ACC Network Extra.
Women’s Basketball 2-1
Last Saturday we hosted Bucknell and won a close one 64-61. OnTuesday we traveled to face #15 West Virginia and lost o the Mountaineers 82-54.
Just one game this weekend as we travel to face Binghamon on Sunday for a 1:30 matchup
#1 Volleyball 23-1 (13-1)
We welcomed #25 UNC and Duke to town this weekend and swept both to go 23-1 on the season.
This weekend we host a pair of matches. First we play #22 Florida State at 5:00
#9 Men’s Soccer 12-5 (6-2)
After winning the regular season championship, we were bounced in the first round of the ACC Tournament by UVA 2-0 this week.
We will find out the NCAA Tournament bracket this Monday. The Panthers should make it and will probably get a bye to the Round of 32. The real question is seeding.
Anyone selling red lot parking for the Clemson game on Saturday?
Guess he preferred Arkansas’ physics program over Pitt’s.

I'm tired of the ole "8-4 or 9-3 is Pitt's ceiling" . Just last year I'm sure Indiana fans were saying the same about how they'll never be more than a 5 win team. But thanks to the Cignetti brother that is actually good at coaching, they're a 10 win team for the first time ever. Sure they got lightning in a bottle, but I wish more fans of not just Pitt would realize the opportunities are out there especially in this new CFB landscape
It's not just Indiana necessarily, teams that don't usually make noise in the rankings are balling out all a sudden. BYU, SMU, and Colorado come to mind as examples.
You could say "well Pitt isn't super desirable since the attendance is low due to the NFL team overshadowing it" but that's not stopping Miami from getting a chance at the ACC title.
Seriously, do these schools have deeper pockets than I can imagine? Or are there bigger changes I'm not seeing?

Firstly, we did deserve to lose last night because of how we played.
However, the refs absolutely screwed us and this is far from the first time that something like this has happened in the ACC. I’m not saying there’s some grand conspiracy against Pitt, but at the very best the refs are hot garbage and it’s screwed us on a few different occasions.
Two of our rivals are in the Big 12, it’s a competitive league on equal level to the ACC. They are probably better top to bottom without awful teams like Florida St weighing down the conference. New AD should just call it on the ACC experiment and get us in a conference with WVU and Cincy. Maybe even try to convince Cuse and VT to come with us or something.
End rant
It was a tough watch. Lots off offensive penalties & critical dropped passes. We lost our starting QB and the back-up turned the ball over while going for glory. You cant always count on the Ref's to be on our side. We had a strong start to the season, but have struggled to find consistency over the last few weeks. Where do we go from here?
AP Top 25 Polls has us at 23 but the game right now says we are 18....what's the deal?

#18 Football 7-1 (3-1)
Everything that could go wrong did go wrong in Dallas. We took our first loss of the season to SMU 48-25.
This week we try to rebound as we host Virginia at 8:00 on Saturday. That game will be broadcast on ACC Network
Men’s Basketball 1-0
In our first game of the season we defeated Radford 96-56
This weekend we play a pair of games. First we host Murray State on Friday at 7:00. Then on Monday at 7:00 we host Gardner-Webb. Both of these games will be available to be streamed on ACC Network Extra.
Women’s Basketball 1-0
A dominating win to start the season for the Panthers as we defeated Canisius 78-36.
This week we play a pair of games. First we host Bucknell this Saturday at 1:00. Then on Tuesday we travel to West Virginia on Tuesday at 7:00.
#1 Volleyball 21-1 (11-1)
The Panthers traveled to Virginia and came home having swept both the Hokies and Cavaliers.
This week we host a pair of matches. First on Friday at 6:00 vs UNC. Then on Sunday at 1:00 against Duke
#3 Men’s Soccer 12-4 (6-2)
This week we traveled to Syracuse and fell 2-0. However, with a Clemson draw, we were still able to clinch sole control of the Regular Season ACC Championship
This Sunday we host Virginia in the Quarterfinals of the ACC Tournament. That game will be at 8:00 and will be broadcast on ACC Network
Women’s Soccer 9-6-3 (3-5-2)
In our season finale we fell 2-3 @ #13 Notre Dame.
While it is still possible that we will have postseason play, that is looking unlikely. This season was a step back for the women’s soccer program. This program has come a long way but hasn’t developed the sustained success of its men’s counterpart.
Cross Country
In the ACC Cross Country Championships, we finished 13th for the men and 16th for the women. Quinton Gatons got the highest finish among the men finishing 79th. For the Women, Winnie Incorvaia led the way finishing 42nd.
I have 4 first row uppers in the corner. section 225 for tonight’s game. $10 each.

This assumes SMU doesn't completely fall off a cliff. No matter who Miami hypothetically loses to, the tiebreaker goes to Pitt. Would be sweet if SU plays spoiler in the finale. But even if both teams tie between common opponents, Pitt has the tougher conference schedule based on winning percentage. Kind of a long shot but there's still hope, and that Clemson game will still be huge if Pitt beats UVA. Just trying to stay positive after last night!
