Hello po! Baka lang may same experience saken dito.
Question, may habol ba sila sakin?
Thann you po.
Okay, so I apologize if this is not the right subreddit for this post, but my wife's family (filipino) randomly asked her to send 3 signatures and a copy of an Identitification card. We live in Canada alone without them, and they live in the Philippines.
My wife is estranged from them, and they have been really unkind to her. At one point, she could not send money as the costs for us to do so versus cost of living made it impossible while she was on maternity leave, so we have not really talked since. She used to send quite a bit of money back home, and the rest is history.
So as I've never spent any significant time in the philippines and do not speak Tagalog or understand the Philippino legal system, I really don't know what the purpose of this request is.
If anybody has any thoughts, I appreciate them.
Salamat po sa lahat!
Hello! I am visiting your beautiful country (from Australia) and I am wondering something about the most common compliment that I seem to hear. I don't want to sound ungrateful, or big-headed, but I don't know how to respond in a genuine way when it makes me feel a little uncomfortable.
It seems that mostly women and girls, but also men and girls often say "You are so pretty." Which at first made me feel embarassed of my race. But also teens have been teaching me how to say this compliment in different dialects which makes me think it is the go-to compliment for all women.
I guess as a teacher of young children back home, I avoid complimenting children based off physical features they can't change. I would rather compliment a child and say they are kind, strong, clever, hard working, or skilled. When I asked the girls how do I say "you sre so clever" instead of pretty they were a little confused haha.
What is the best way to respond to these compliments which I know is people wanting to be nice, but I want to be genuine. I have just been saying thank you and telling people thank you for coming to the events we are running, and try to connect more talking about the project we are doing. People here are so kind and tallented, I don't want to cause offence, I am grateful for how open and wonderful the people here are.
Magandang hapon r/Philippines!
I found this thing in our housekeeper room. Basically it’s is a glass with the bottom filled with sugar or salt (third of the glass) and then there is water in the middle and the top there are several cloves of garlic. There is a piece of paper stuck on the sugar/salt part with some writings on it.
Can someone explain what could that be?
E mas matagal tayong kinolonya Ng mga Espanol at mas marami Ang nanakaw nila, na maltratong pilipino at napatay pero ni Minsan walang nag rally na Spain apologize or any of the like.
Hi! It's not for me lang talaga. Kaya nagsabi ako ahead of time na hindi ako sasalinsa sayaw.

I dont know what is the correct flair or subreddit but I'm already frustrated right now. Is there anyone here who had an experience with this store? Purchased something from them recently but they are unresponsive after they got the money. Tried to contact them through Facebook, IG, WhatsApp, and even tried to email them. I thought this store is legit because it's followed by a celeb but they are doing business like 💩. Is there a right agency where we can report them?

Imagine having to sacrifice your time as a student for the upcoming Lantern Parade. I'm writing this in disbelief after competing in the lantern parade in the municipality of Pugo, La Union. The issue? The judges they selected completely disregarded the guidelines, which emphasized the use of indigenous and recycled materials.
We strictly followed these guidelines, but some competitors clearly did not—and yet, the judges based their decisions solely on the appearance of the lanterns. The winning lantern wasn’t even made entirely of recycled or indigenous materials. Most of it consisted of plastic, specifically the kind used for banderitas (those decorative buntings typically seen during fiestas). Worse, it didn’t even seem like they recycled those materials. From a distance, it was obvious that the white plastic they used wasn’t something you could easily source or repurpose, especially since even our fiesta, Tinungbo, doesn’t use white in its banderitas.
This kind of judging is why some schools hesitate to participate in our festivals. It’s frustrating when the officials of Pugo, La Union, select judges who can’t properly comprehend the criteria they’re supposed to uphold. I hope they take this feedback seriously and find more competent judges for future events, as it’s disappointing to see hard work go unrecognized because of poor judgment.
I'm taking a gap year and want to live overseas in the Phillipines for 6-12 months, preferably in BGC, Makati, or Cebu It park. Is this budget doable? Hubby and I like to dine maybe 3-4 times per week. Watch movies at the theatre maybe monthly, but other than not, the only thing f we like to do is see local sites, get massages etc.
I received a card saying that there is failed delivery attempt from philpost but the thing is, I am not expecting any delivery for me thru philpost
Should I try to claim it?
I am new to work so Im a bit hesitant to take a leave just to claim an unknown package and on top of that there will be fees I need to pay when I don't even know what is it
