PETE HOLMES!
/r/peteholmes
Today,I was looking for his stand up bit about coffee being an acquired taste and realised that most of the monologues from the Pete Holmes Show have been made private.
I used to watch them so often during the pandemic and watched a bunch last year which was after some post I found from 8 years ago talking about removed videos.
Does anyone know why or when these videos (like the coffee monologue) were removed?
Pete Holmes did an episode on YMIW where a friend of his (I think?) who is Muslim discussed his faith in a way that had me truly open my eyes and I would love to find it! Anyone have any idea what I’m talking about? I am searching Spotify from 2011 to now but it’s a lot! lol
Pete killed it at the early show in Portland. Great material and a fantastic show. He was warm, authentic, and hilarious. Really like the way he works the stage as well. Maybe an odd thing to notice but it seemed like he worked the front of the stage a lot more than some I’ve seen. Was very close to the audience, felt personal even though it was being filmed for a special.
10/10 would recommend.
My only request next time, maybe have some merch or offer a meet and greet. A photo or signed shirt would have made for an incredible Christmas gift for ourselves!
Thanks Pete!
I don't know why I'm so curious about this, but I'm trying to figure this out. Being that Pete is traveling to a different city every weekend, I assume he goes back home during the weekdays. But does he fly to every location? For example, this last weekend he was in Portland, OR. This weekend he is in Eugene, OR. Now, did he fly home after his last set in Portland? Or did he stay in a hotel for a few days and rent a car or Uber to Eugene and then fly home from Eugene? I guess what I'm asking is, how often do comics fly vs rent a car/taxi?
I, unfortunately, can't go to the show and I'm looking to recoup the cost of the ticket. Don't want to scalp anyone. Looking to sell for $57. Send me a DM if you are interested.
Prayer hands
What can I say? Pete has never seemed like he would support the way comedians have become a part of this political regime. Anyone know his thoughts?
Why the hell when I Google crashing (the HBO max show with Pete homles) it doesn't on my first search, give me the show, but instead give me some dumbass British show called fleabag? I mean Pete homles is hilarious and that's a great show. Why the hell isnt his show the thing that easily pops up when I obviously search it up?? Not some stupid British bullshit?
Big fan of his stand up podcast and the show crashing. Somehow missed the Pete Holmes show existing. Anyone know how to watch? Or have them stored on a google drive? I saw online Plex had it but it doesn't anymore.
I've been trying to find a web series that Holmes and Matthew McCarthy made, where Pete's a husband and father of 7-8 children. They are devoutly Christian, which is why they have so many chidkren. It's in "The Office" style mockumentary format. McCarthy plays a friend/neighbor who secretly wants the wife to marry him instead.
No trace of it on the web any more!
My name's Mike and my friend's name is Mike and we're constantly yelling this at each other. I've been looking for an uncensored version of this sketch for a while, but with zero luck. Anyone know where I might find it?
I'm wondering which one would be good to read first. Thanks!
I want to go to Pete's show in Denver but have no friends interested. Is there any solo people that are big fans going, we could go together or form a group.
Does anyone know which podcast episode(s) Pete talks about the poem they read at his wedding with Val?
As the title says, I got to see Pete Holmes last night at Largo in LA last night and it was absolutely hilarious! It was the hardest I’ve laughed in years, even some of his jokes that were still being workshopped.
He brought out a few guests, including a blonde female comedian with autism who had me in stitches the entire time. Unfortunately I missed her name, but would love to see more sets from her. I can’t seem to find her name though!
Does anybody know who this might be? Not sure if she regularly works with him, so hoping somebody here might have her name!
Edit: Lara Beitz - thanks for the help!
It’s in one of the YMIW episodes, Pete talks about an Irish writer with a joke about a genie that grants subconscious wishes. And how most people would just vanish because they secretly desire annihilation.
It’s the bit about atheists v believers, on an airplane that’s crashing. The atheist says,”This is as meaningless as it all was” and the believer says, “I’M GOING HOME!” I’m trying to find that bit on his albums on Apple Music. I thought it was on “Nice Try the Devil”
Does anyone have a link to the ad Pete did for Magic Mind?
Pete buddy you’ve got the longest intros in town.
Just saw the new superbowl commercial and I don’t think it was Pete’s voice.
Hey all, if anyone can help. The premise of the bit was Pete Holmes was standing in line waiting to get on a plane. He over hears a mother and younger daughter in front of him talking about not taking liquids on a plane or it has to be a certain amount in ounces. Holmes then tries to make a joke about how he is carrying more liquid than that in his bladder? And the mother and daughter get all weirded out.
Not sure if I have it right, but it was a hilarious bit, if anyone can help me find it, I would be so grateful🙏
