Apart from PayPal and cards I would like to know how to pay.(India)
Good morning.
I have been harassed these last a couple of month by a stalker who is, among the other things, trying to steal the content from my Patreon page.
Is there a way to prevent this person to make up new accounts and try to steal my content? It's the third time I block him.
Thanks.
Just looking to see if i can add my discord moderators to my relationship manager so that they can help manage misses from the patreon bot
Did you have a Patreon account and access videos on Patreon.com while you had a Facebook account between April 1, 2016 and September 23, 2024? Submit a claim because you may be eligible for compensation. Just thought I’ll share.
I'm trying to set up a team account, but whenever I click on the "Create on Patreon" button, I get brought to my normal creator account with no upgrades.
Is there something I need to do first?
it's not formatted properly and looks weird, is it just me?
Hi folks,
My Patreon was deactivated last night for suspicious activity. I have an idea it might be related to an ongoing dispute I have with Paypal - I unlinked Paypal from my Patreon briefly while I got it sorted out. But I got the email saying "suspended, pending deletion" and then this morning I tried to log in (which I'm supposed to be able to do while suspended?) and nothing. The account's been entirely removed.
This seems WAY over the top and I have no idea what I've done. I don't breach any Community Guidelines - I do book reviews and a webserial that's been on hiatus for ages, for chrissakes - and if there's suspicious activity, you'd think 'unlinking my Paypal' would be the RIGHT thing to do!
I've had my Patreon for eight years or so. I'm a long-term creator, and I have no idea what to do now. I've sent in my appeal but the fact that my account just seems to be /gone/ has me pretty depressed.
So i do understand its all individual but maybe someone produces very niche based content thats even difficult to promote via paid ads, how do you guys promote? I would appreciate advice from creators who are actually doing it, TIA!!
So l started a patreon
and got a strange .com/c/mypage url instead of a normal .com/mypage why is that?
My payment is on hold and I was notified that due to frequent payout in a short amount of time your this payout may take 10 days to be processed(not exactly but something like this), I am pretty much sure it has been 10 days since. I want to know if someone has ever encountered this before, if so, how did it get resolved?
Most of my pledges went through fine but about 15 are in pending status…not declined. I’ve never seen this before. Anyone else getting this?
It proceeded to charge me again at night before the day ended and cancelled my membership the same day am I missing something??
So I’m hoping to fully connect my discord to my Patreon so supporters can just click the link and/or be automatically added. Just a little smoother than the old “here’s a link” method. I’m looking to make it an 18+ discord but since discord makes age verification tricky, would connecting it to Patreon basically act as that barrier since the Patreon is 18+ only? Just want to make sure I thought this through and didn’t miss something before I start slapping buttons.
I have tried posting twice on here and both times it was auto banned. Itried contacting a mod and they refused to publish it bc they said the same topic had been published before. I searched for the topic and didn't find a good response, I personally think the mods are overstepping their authority bc I don't think it should be entirely up to them what gets published ( unless it's spam or something obscene), it's a valid question and I think that I should be allowed to ask it on this sub
I am an EU creator who will be setting up a business soon (due to the payment limits in my country, requiring me to start a business etc).
I wanted to ask if, for tax reasons, you folks report each subscription/payment to the authorities as a different business transaction, convert the currency and pay tax off that or if you treat each direct payment from you to Patreon as your taxable base and you convert it only once to your local currency? Just so you know, I don't sell anything, I only offer memberships to support development of my game.
I know that it is a pretty broad question but I have contacted several accountants and a tax specialist + consulted documentation and I have encountered many different interpretations. The main issue is the lack of VAT Invoices sent to Patrons, which makes answering the question of "Who do I have a business relationship with, a Patron (member) or Patreon?" hard to answer and to resolve.
Any and all help will be greatly appreciated ^^
This is a bit of a brainstorming question, really. I make YouTube videos, teach online classes, and do a little bit of writing. I've acquired a LOT of unpaid patrons in recent months. I'd like to be converting more of them to paid (which hasn't grown proportionally). It seems like I'm the kind of creator where a lot of my patrons are in it to support me as much or more as they are to get the rewards, but I think the rewards are pretty good and appropriate.
I'm not big on sales and discounts. I think my stuff is priced fairly. I'm thinking it needs to be more of a "why should you support me" or "why is my work important to you (and the world)" type of pitch.
But I'm interested in what has worked for others.
I have a creator account on patreon, but over the days I've noticed in my internet bubble that some profiles that have created some NFSW games have simply been banned.
I've read the Community Guidelines about 5 times, and my content doesn't violate any rules.
However, I know of 2 creators of adult games who directly violate one of the rules. I began to wonder why they are still standing (one of them being the 15th on graphtreon). The theory I've developed is that they don't post artwork directly to the feed, but just link to the download versions. I don't think anyone in their right mind is going to check profile by profile, download zip by zip to find out (at least I don't think so).
That said, my question is: Should I worry about an unexpected ban, even if I'm not breaking the rules?
Can someone explain this to me?
I joined this dude’s Patreon and paid for the $20 tier which said it included everything from the $15 plus something else, But I can’t find that something else, and I am missing access to posts that the $15 Tier isn’t. I am missing access to 58 Posts out of 118 posts.
I wanna share the dude’s Patreon link, But apparently that’s not allowed. By the way, none of the other tiers mention having access to more posts. It’s just the $15 and $20 tier.
I was trying to start a membership (right before writing this post) and it showed me I'd be billed now, and then the 31st of every month. I think the creator is using the subscription billing method, but that doesn't explain why I, on December 1st,
UTC : 23u20 (or 11.20pm)
PT : 14u20 (or 2.20 pm)
would be billed again on the 31st of December, not on January 1st. What kind of time zone are they using that they're almost a full day behind UTC?? In Japan, it's already morning of the 2nd of December! There's no time zone in the world where it's still the 30th of November. Is is somehow counting to 31 instead of 30 for November? Is that why I would be billed the 31st instead of just the 30th? That's really weird considering that if I kept my subscription till February, it'd shift to the 28th, and stay there.
And why will I be charged $4 more than the tier price of $19.99? I find this unclear and confusing.
I only signed up for 2 at the 1 dollar monthly tier and I got 3 1 dollar charges from PayPal listed as membership fees. My understanding was that I'd be charged the second time on the 30th or 31st of the month. I double checked & both are monthly payments, not by creation. Is this how payment usually works?
I realise there are the new changes with Apple etc, but normally, my pledges would be processing this morning since it's the 1st of the month, but they're not? Anyone else having this issue? Unless pledges aren't taken on Sundays...
I'm trying to upload new merch items using one time delivery, but when I select "One time delivery" and then "Continue", the page attempts to load for a second and then redirects me to my membership page. I have attempted this on multiple browsers and tried clearing cookies, but the issue persists. This doesn't seem to be an issue when creating a loyalty program.
I've noticed similar types of page loading/redirect bugs specifically with regard to merch. Has anyone else experienced this sort of thing?
for about the past week whenever i try to log in i get the error message
"Something went wrong. Please refresh the page to try again."
doesnt work
I also get the same when i click "I need help signing in" and try to reset my password
tried to contact support but it wont let me unless i log in and the "Help Center" just keeps sending me in a loop.
I need login help, my problem isnt listed, click "Still need help", it demands i log in and the button for I cant Log in sends me back to the start.
I cant access the site, the subscriptions im paying for, or contact support to either get in or cancel my subscriptions
I have a podcast, and some of our paid bonus audio content we have preview audio clips for.
FYI, mobile users on the iOS app don't see those, even if they're (free) subscribers. Seems like the app just... doesn't support it.
So November has been my second month having a Patreon, and I’ve withdrawn funds twice so far. The first time I had no issues, and the funds took only a couple days to deposit into my account. The second time I was given a notice that because of the higher amount it would take a bit longer, which it did. Two days ago I tried to withdraw for the third time, but received a pop up that said my balance is on hold while Patreon’s Trust & Safety team review my account. I’ve checked each day to see if I can withdraw but there’s no change.
I’m wondering how long this process usually takes for anyone who’s actually experienced it? Clicking “Learn More” shows an article that talks about suspicious activity on my account, but nothing has changed in the way I operate since I started. The only thing I can think of is the fact that somehow, about two weeks ago, a new member gained access to my Patreon without paying. I just ended up blocking them. Could that be the suspicious activity? I already emailed them to try and get an answer quicker.
I don’t do anything NSFW or untoward. I’ve heard stories about people getting their accounts closed or something and not being paid their funds. I’m confident things will work out but it is strange to think Patreon can allow you to collect new memberships while they review, only to close your account and keep the money. Anyway, if anyone knows of a reason why or how long their review might take I’d appreciate insight.
I know we can sell posts, is it possible to gift a post?
I have some posts which are ideally just sell only posts but I have had a user subscribe to get them, I want to gift them to this user so they have permanent access to the posts.
