I want to create a Patreon profile to make contents about how to crack software. This could be not completely legal in case of public sharing, but under nda I think that it is legal to analyze software and to explain how to reverse engineer the flow to bypass security restrictions.

So my question is: can I put a sort of NDA to my patreon material so that I don't have the responsibility in case of violation?

Several days ago the sidebar on the patreon website (I am on PC, using Firefox and its up to date) disappeared for me and several other users but a few hours later it was back to normal.

Now the sidebar is gone again for me but a friend of mine says its still there for him (also on PC and firefox). Why is the sidebar gone for some (like me) but not for others (like my friend)

I am so confused.

I was casually checking my Patreon page and saw that my monthly payment was around $1.8k. After a few minutes, maybe 7 or 8, when I went back to my page, I saw a massive drop in my monthly payment—it had literally dropped by $700, now showing $1,162. What happened? I'm so confused.

I'm a minor Patreon user (I won't disclose my name or identity), but I've noticed something unusual with my audience. There are three patrons who subscribed in April(2024), and they last paid for their memberships on the same day they subscribed. Additionally, there's one more patron who paid in May, but since then, their payments have stopped. However, my audience list still shows them as having active memberships.

So, do they still have access to my content? Or is this a system glitch?

My account just got flagged for deletion when i was trying to pay for a subscription and just got a mail saying so. Does taking too long while typing in card information need this type of action?? The least they could do is to atleast show a timer within which the action should be done. Now i have to wait till my request is received and whatever…

What kind of information does the artist know of us when we subscribe? I don't want them to know who I am.

Basically whenever I used to withdraw money earlier from patreon it would be in my paypal in a day. That time it was only under 50 dollar but right now I am trying to withdraw about 90 dollar but it has already been four days..

So how long will it take? I need the money by Monday..

What are the pros and risks of using it?

I’m always thinking. I love coming up with ideas, I love writing, exploring ideas and philosophy. I’ve also played guitar since the young age of 12 I’m now 23. I want to start doing my own thing with my own creativity, and I know patreon can give me that if I’m able to do it properly. The first step would be to find what I want to share with the world. Is it guitar? I write a lot of original fingerstyle music - but is there a market for that? I like writing short essays on mental health and social issues - but who the hell wants to read essays? I’m also not keen on putting my face out there on Instagram and other platforms to direct people to patreon. Playing guitar would be different as my face doesn’t need to be there but for philosophy and essay writing you probably need to make a personality of yourself.

How did you all choose what you wanted to give the world? Did it come easy to you? Or did you have more then one interest and in the same dilemma as I am in now?

How do you find out if there is a market or audience for your stuff?

For those who made a personality of themselves online, did you feel scared? How did you overcome that fear?

trying to figure out the best way to do my archived stories

if I make a tier for my 2023 stories ($15)

and a tier for my 2024 stories ($15)

will people be able to get both of them by only paying $15? (sign up for one, download everything and then switch to the other?) or how does that work exactly

Does this mean I can’t show a time skip in the epilogue where the characters are parents?

I would like to know if Patreon warns you before banning you or gives you the opportunity to correct your mistake in case you happen to have broken one of their rules. Or does it ban you right away? In that case, if I want to create another Patreon, will I be able to do so? Or does it also ban your email, PayPal, and IP address?

One of my high-dollar patrons had his payment declined this month. I know him, and he's very dependable so I figured he'd sort it out on Monday. This evening I sent him a polite note saying "did you know your payment was declined this month?"

He said that Patreon hadn't notified him (and because of the type of job he does, and knowing how honest he is, etc. I believe him). He immediately got his payment done.

So my advice is to check your declined payments every couple of weeks, and send patrons (or at least the ones paying you a significant amount) a polite note, because they may have no idea. I used to do this routinely, and I kind of stopped, but I think I'll start paying more attention.

Right now, my Google uses my default YouTube channel, which uses my real name. Rather than change this existing account, I created an entirely different channel. However, I can't seem to find an option on either Patreon or my Google account to select this different profile name.

What can I do?

I'm new to Patreon and trying to think of ways to not only buildup paid members, but also get people to sign up for my newsletter. I was wondering if one the perks I should offer for my $10 tier on Patreon is early access to chapters a week before I post them on my author website. Do you think people would like something like that or would they just wait it out so the can read them all for free?

I’m new to patreon and my account was approved etc. I want to post videos but when I get to the final step it just says “add video” even tho I already attached it. I saw something about an early access feature. Is that why it won’t let me?

Started a patreon and i got a message i need my idendity to be verified, which i don't mind but the problem is that Jumio doens't work at all at keep load infinitely. Don't have a webcam so i must do the verification from mobile. Is there another way to verify my identity on patreon?

I've tried Firefox and Chrome, but the sidebar menu has disappeared, as if element picked out of existence. I can't access anything usually there, including the account switcher. It was working fine at least two days ago. I've logged out and deleted cookies. Is anyone else experiencing this, has there been a subtle site update, or have an alternative menu?

Hi, I was told to set up a Patreon to help make money on my 3D modelling. I have set it up and started to get members and money but I have no idea how to withdraw it.

I don't know what forms I need to fill out or what UK aspects I need to do. I saw the W-8BEN form, but I don't know what I need from the UK to fill it out.

A few days ago i spent 500$ on something and the bank held my money thinking it was a fraud alert until i told them i spent the money to get my card un declined, then 2 days later i noticed my card got declined on patreon because my payment didn’t go through. So what do i do, do i call the bank again or patreon? My card still works on buy stuff but why not on patreon anymore?

Hey, I’ve noticed patreon added the option where your subs of 3 months or something are able to get free piece of merch whatever you choose, and patreon take cares of it all for some extra % of what they take from you. I make some NSFW animated content (pics only), do the prints and stuff the patreons will receive have to be sfw or am i able to put nsfw stuff they subbed for on those prints? If anyone has experience let me know. Thanks

Since start of october (?) I have been getting post notification emails for posts I do not have access to because of my subscription tier.

For example, I am subscribed to creator for $1 per month. I recieve an email with

"<Creator> just shared a new post with <$10 per month tier name> members. Unlock the post and other added benefits when you upgrade your current membership."

This is very annoying and I would like to disable these emails. I still want to receive emails for the tier I am actually subscribed to.

Anyone know how to change this?
