Bartholomew Delgado agreed to help then vanished. *Minor spoilers for Troll Trouble*

So, last playthrough, I make him kill the troll, finished the trolls off way before he was attacked, apologized to him, got him to help me, then robbed his house blind, and he still helped me just fine. There are very few events I would even consider swapping him in for, but you can't beat having a vendor in the throne room.

This time, same thing. Made him off the troll, finished the trolls long before he was attacked. (This game was made by morons, I can buy missing on something by being too slow, but being too fast and not being warned is just fucking stupid. I would have missed Jubilost and Ekundayo if I didn't know to go looking for them, I'd already cleared both areas before the trolls showed up and there wasn't a new event alert.) Asked him to join, he said no, I apologized, then he said yes. But he wasn't in my capital. I was hoping he would show in a few days, but still not around. How did he vanish? Was I glitched?

I REALLY don't want to jump back to my old backup save from before I had him kill Dimwit. I not only finished the trolls, but went and cleared EVERY REACHABLE AREA after while waiting on him to show up. I'd only finished 1/3rd of the areas before the Trolls started running amok. (Yes, I'm playing with mods, gestalt classes, and teleporting around the map to not backtrack paths I've already walked, so I can clear it much quicker, but I didn't teleport once the quest started out of fear of missing random encounters. I stand by the fact that you shouldn't be able to miss anything by being too fast. It's fucking poor game design.)

How Is Army Perception Actually Calculated?

My understanding is that it's based off party perception and specifically who you choose to be a lookout at camp. I have Lann covering that role with a +20 (+25 with vespertillo) but I've never seen army perception above an 11, so I must be missing something. What am I doing wrong?

Draconic bloodline question

So I get the ability to use dragon kind 2 at lv 16; if I have arcane as a second bloodline can I use that in conjunction with transformation and can I also wield a weapon at the same time?

One more question (edit): Should I bother tryna make my bloodeager tanky cuz there’re a couple of penalties to ac plus I don’t really wanna delay my bloodrager levels cuz there’s so much cool shit at higher levels of bloodrager so I wanna get those as soon as possible rather than take dips for ac plus I don’t wanna be lawful (although one thing I will do to get immunity to fatigue earlier is take a level in lame stig witch at level 11 or so)

Wiki is lying or what?

According to the wiki on bloodrager bloodlines, arcane gives me arcane blood rage at lv 4, greater arcane blood rage at lv 8 and true arcane blood rage at lv 16 whereas in game looking at the bloodline description it gives none of that. Similarly there are bonus abilities for draconic bloodline and abyssal so is that lies or is it just not showing up at character creation for some reason?

Numerian Greatsword on a DC casters?

I was looking at the Numerian Greatsword, and saw the feature that gave a +2 to DC in addition to a +4 Enhancement to Intelligence. Looking at that bonus, it seems like it would be really nice on an int based DC caster, as an equipped weapon.

Am i doing something wrong?

Just jumped into Pathfinder Wrath Of The Righteous after playing a lot of BG3, and I'm encountering something that's throwing me off a bit. In BG3, when you roll a 20 on your attack, it's an automatic crit with damage rolled, simple as that. But in Pathfinder, it seems a bit more complicated. Do I really need to roll three times over 10 just to get crit damage in?

I'm currently running a level 2 wizard with Spell Penetration and specialized in evocation. Here's the scenario: I'm facing off against a Quasit with a spell resistance of 13. I cast Ray of Frost, and lucky me, I roll a natural 20 for my attack roll. But then I need to roll again to confirm the crit, which I managed with a 15. But here's the kicker - I roll a measly 7 for spell penetration. So, after all that, i get 0 damage. And this happened like 3 times in 1 hour.

So it takes at least two rolls just to get damage through, and even then, it might be dampened by spell resistance.

It feels like a bit of a unfair. Any tips or tricks for making this game a bit smoother? Or my expectation are to high?

No damage

Can you activate timed quests using Toybox?

Hi so I am about to go the midnight Fane (which from what I understand will go to the next chapter) but I still have the wayward on for which the objective is.. wait. I tried to skip ahead a few days but nothing happened. I dont want to not go the midnight fane but I also dont want to ruing Ember's quest line.

Is there any way I can manually force the quest to go to the next objective?

Aeon and Iz (spoiler act 5)

While looking for a way to get all objectives in Iz I thought I was screwed because I killed Hulrun early on and all sources online said he had to be alive if you want to keep the banner (luckily I did give the lexicon to the queen).

But then when I finally decided to give up on the banner, I save the queen, go to banner area and lo and behold, it's there.

So I don't know if this is a lesser known option but if you follow the path of the Aeon and change the past of Staunton Vhane, he will protect the banner for you similar to Hulrun.

Help me make a natural attack bloodrager

I also want to be a chaotic neutral demon. So far I’m thinking draconic over abyssal for wings and the level 16 I can replace with the devil totem cuz it’ll give me a gore attack, can get bite from motherless but do demonic claws override bloodline claws cuz bloodline claws seem better but if they would I can go celestial instead. I’m also fine with putting a weapon in my right hand and using natural attacks as an extra in which case what weapon type would be the best to use? Also for ac should I go 2 instinct and normal monk or 1 monk 1 oracle (in which case is there any other 1 level dip I should take?)?

KINGMAKER after WOTR

So, just finished WOTR (and loved it). Now I'd like to start my first run on KINGMAKER, but a lot of people say that the improvements and quality of life of the sequel prevent you from fully enjoying the First game. Thoughts?

Demonic rage

I couldn't find an answer to this so I thought I'd ask the community. Does the Scroll of resourceful Rage work for Demonic Rage?

Demonic rage read you get 3 per day and increases by 1 at 6th and 9th Mythic Rank. I'm Mythic Rank 7 with 5 per day currently

Final Thoughts after a First Completion

After 431 hours and about 6 saves I hop between at random, I have finally completed the game. A human TWF Azata and his merry band of misfits carried me across the finish line, and as such I will not scream into the void to share my thoughts on the game and story and all that good stuff. Strap in, because it's a long one.

Spoilers, obviously, but I figure better safe than sorry. And bear in mind that maybe everything I'm about to say is super common and not all that special, but this is the first game of this nature I've played, past maybe 10 hours into BG3.

I won't get too into gameplay and mechanics yet, but what I will touch on first is the lore. I've always had a blast reading through the, bluntly, batshit insane world of Golarion, and to that end I was thrilled to be able to read all the highlighted text in the game that explained bits and pieces of the world to you, as well as all the lore books laying around. I also like being able to check the highlighted text to see what exact actions led to that dialogue being there in the first place,

I also like how the world responds to you just existing, for things like skipping the save from the Gray Garrison succubus if you're an atheist, immediately hitting it off with Seelah if you're a paladin, or being upset with Nenio for forgetting she's a kitsune if you're also a kitsune. The same goes for the Mythic Paths, and something that always had me excited for future playthroughs is seeing "Requires X Mythic Path" in dialogue. What does an Aeon have to say to Galfrey after returning from the Abyss? What does happen if you release your demonic hatred at the Wardstone and to Irabeth outside of Drezen. It's teasers of content that let you know just how much more there is to the game if you've made different choices.

The story itself is super solid. Nothing feels too rushed or out of nowhere(bar optional areas, we'll get to you, Blackwater). I like the slow reveal of KC's connection to Areelu. It gives you plenty of time to wonder why she chose you, what her plans with you are. Figuring out that she's been practically shadowing your every move from the beginning, from sending Suture to arm you, breaking your fall, to posing as Yaniel in Drezen. And in Drezen, she tells you to question the origin of your power, makes you ask yourself if she just knows or if she's perhaps responsible, questions that only grow when you find your way to her lab and find the Lexicon. I'll admit to have had the reveal spoiled for me maybe 100 hours in, but even knowing, I was still intrigued to see how they manage the reveal, and I wasn't disappointed. And again in teasing other content, when she ponders what may have happened if you had embraced the demonic power that served as a catalyst, it makes you wonder what she would have to say if you did. Would she be disappointed with the results? Would she think her plan was working? Who knows! I don't, I've got a Lich and an Aeon and an Angel and a Legend and maybe even a Trickster to play through before I go Demon, unless restartitis strikes again.

To touch a little more on the Azata path, I was spoiled into learning that one of the two ways to get Devil was through Azata, and it didn't make sense to me for the longest time as I slowly played through the game. Why would a devil bother himself with an Azata, the very opposite of his being. And while some of that still stands, as I don't fully understand how an Azata-Devil run would work RP wise(please share if you've done it, I'm very curious), speaking with Mephistopheles made sense. He took interest in you because you're the exact opposite, and a very dangerous and powerful individual at that. Of course he'd be worried about this new player disrupting the careful balance of the universe, of course he'd want to try and put you on a leash. Obviously it didn't work, and it ended in him being as humiliated as Deskari was after I was through with him, but even if I disagree with him, I understand why, and his actions as Early Sunset do make sense for it. All around fun character, and I appreciate being brought from 17 to 19 after killing him.

Galfrey and the Hand of the Inheritor are also interesting characters. I have yet to ask Galfrey to join me on the road to Drezen, so I've admittedly seen little of her, but even what I have seen already feels in depth for the brief time we can speak to her, even if she is a bit of a jealous prick after the Fane. It makes you wonder as to what she expected, though. The KC began to display these awesome powers, the reason she assigned you as Knight-Commander in the first place, and set you to take the biggest steps in 70 years against the Wound, only for her to go all Surprised Pikachu when you began to gain fame and loyalty. I imagine the jealously was a surprise even to her, but it still makes you wonder what was going through her head.

And the Hand of the Inheritor. Big guy looks after you like a big brother and gives you all the encouragement in the world, but you quickly get the sense that not even he understands what's happening to the KC. He's his own kind of fanatical in how he trusts you, wholly believes in you even if you're doing fucked up shit, at least at first, but hey he stuck up for me when Galfrey tried to bash me for a successful surprise attack(which like come on Galfrey I know you're grasping at straws to yeet me into the Abyss but that was still a successful military operation). And of course, when Areelu reveals the source of your power, he reacts the only way a fanatic would: He completely denounces you and fucks right off. It sucks, I wish he hadn't, especially since even he acknowledged all the good I did, but it absolutely makes sense for the character, especially as he used to work for Ragathiel. I will say that I still don't understand his decision to continue fighting in the Abyss, especially without backup, but it's not the worst thing in the world. Then you find him in the Ineluctable Prison. It hurt to fight him, to see what Baphomet did to him, especially since you can present his heart before the fight and he acknowledges that it aches, but on the flip side I was so happy that you could save him in the end. Beaten, but not broken, and I like the little epilogue bit where he holes up in his own little cottage, posing as a regular guy to try and learn and understand people.

The companions are all great, even if it feels like some got more attention than others, but I suppose that's just the nature of things. Also it's worth noting that I haven't seen them all. Found out about Woljif late, killed Greybor because I honestly didn't trust him not to switch sides after finding someone with deeper pockets, Daeran is just annoying, and while I've heard of Ulbrig I think they're in a DLC, of which I have none.

It's nice to help Seelah and Sosiel keep themselves together, to help them through their struggles. I didn't get the best ending for Sosiel, as he basically became an old man who shakes his fist at young people from his porch, but he got happily married in the end, and Seelah never lost her shine.

It was an honest joy to watch Ember do her thing and watch everyone's collective shock and confusion as it actually works. I like to imagine the Azata KC visits Nocticula once or twice once she ascends and pokes a bit of fun at her. "Still gonna torture people for calling you the Redeemer Queen?" "No, but I may make an exception if you keep this up."

Maybe it's just because I romanced her, but I felt like Arueshalae had some of the most content of all the companions(again, that I've seen). Helping her through her dreams, through her struggles, honestly felt the most rewarding of them all when she did finally ascend, and we went hand in hand to the future. And while I didn't do so, I like that the option is there to corrupt her. It makes sense, the KC is effectively a weight on the scales of her morality, and not everyone will bring her to good. I don't think I could ever do it in a future run, but it's nice that the option is there. Also Nenio asking if she thinks her kids would be tieflings or aasimars was pretty funny.

Speaking of Nenio, she is one of my favorite companions, but also her quest was excruciating, though so was Secrets of Creation, so I guess I can blame it on Areshkagal and not Nenio. It was fun watching her experiments, her back and forth with that time traveler scientist who's name currently escapes me. I was wondering all through the game just who she was, and "new conscious in the body of a 4000 year old cultist" certainly took me by surprise. When you beat Areshkagal and start trying to convince Nenio to come back was one of the few times the story genuinely had me worried and sad. I had just lost someone else, and I didn't want to lose her, too, and I was so very happy to see the light come back to her eyes.

Though, to step into gameplay for a moment, I do have a gripe with the Areshkagal fight. Specifically the 2nd phase, where a bunch of minions pop up. Some of the Maralith just ran off the edge of the map, never to be seen again. In turn based, it meant the Maralith's turn never ended, and switching to real time for a moment took the offender off of the turn order, but soft locked the game into never progressing into the third phase. I had to use the Murder Hobo button on Toybox to actually complete the quest. I know the game is a bit infamous for being buggy, and it certainly wasn't the only one, but softlocking an entire boss fight for one of your companion quests particularly atrocious. The annoying thing is that I don't know why they did it, because they weren't feared, I specifically turned off Aivu's aura. They just ran face first off the edge of the pyramid like that Kratos meme. Aside from that, Nenio was a very fun companion and I liked the story her quest brought, even if the puzzles can go to hell.

Regill was interesting. He didn't have much, although NG Azata probably wasn't the run to get the most out of him, but I think that was almost the point. Man lives, breaths, and eats Hellknight order, he doesn't leave much room for himself in there. But still, he was even more loyal to the KC than the HotI, because even if you piss him off by being the exact thing he hates most, he sees that you're also the best hope for Golarian, and will fight with you to the death. That he gave up his own rank was a genuine shock, but again, it makes sense. He was absolutely right, there would be naysayers in the Hellknight ranks if he didn't do what he did. Everything he does, even when dealing with

I loved Lann, man was like a brother to me. I like how there's a few times in the game where you keep each other focused, against the Gray Garrison succubus, and when first facing Savahmelek. He wasn't the most fleshed out character, but what was there was very solid and built him up well. The end of his final quest was the other of the few times the game had me genuinely sad. I really, really didn't want him to go, but he was ready for it, and I wouldn't take that from him.

However, the game certainly tried to make me take it from him, as we segway back into critiques, there was another game breaking bug in his quest as well. Upon cutting through Savahmelek and the mongrels like wet paper and saying goodbye to Lann, the game would tell me the party wiped and that I needed to reload. Took the emotional build up out back and shot it like Ol' Yeller, and I again had to resort to ToyBox to fix the issue. Annoying, but what are you gonna do but talk about it to see of Owlcat does anything about it or not.

In a similar vein of bugs that I will cover now since it's related, one of Wenduag's quests have a similar game over screen. Now I won't touch on her much since I haven't finished a run with her yet, but I got up to Drezen and her Neatholm quest during a Lich run, and encountered something similar to what happened with Lann. Lann asked for an honorable duel, just him and Wenduag, and I agreed, roleplaying that I was testing Wendu's worth, that if she could stand up to Lann. She could not and died round 1. And then, once again, it gave me a game over. I was upset, because like I said, it was a test, if she failed it I wanted to just deal with it and find a new archer, but I didn't have that choice, and I didn't think to see if it was a bug or not at the time, not that I was using ToyBox then anyway even if I did find that solution, and I don't know if there even is dialogue after the fact. Just an annoying thing that's either poor game design by Owlcat, or a bad bug that makes it look like bad game design.

However, I think I've done enough griping for now, so let's talk about what I did like about the gameplay, and the absolute power fantasy it lets you live.

The game starts slow, as level 1 does, but even still, knowing how to work pathfinder rules lets you turn your party into a well oiled machine. I will say that starting on Core made it a bit slower, but I was blissfully ignorant of how the game could be when I first started. Resource management is a must, as tempting as it is to blast with everything at the first inconvenience. It took some adjusting to the game's rules vs the table top rules(Mainly flanking because I didn't figure that out until my first assault on the gray garrison and baubus were kicking my ass), but once I got it down it wasn't the worst thing in the world. However, I quickly learned that even Core could be unforgiving. The gargoyles were a warning, but in my first playthrough, an Arcane Bloodrager Azata, the Staunton fight is what taught me that the game wasn't going to play nice. It stonewalled me hard until I got a lucky run off and learned to focus Minagho. It's part of why I ultimately abandoned that run, since now I better knew how to play in the game and wanted to start with something better with my new understanding.

It's interesting how the game will bounce back and forth on Core. Half the fights you'll plow through like a force of nature, the other half you're going to get your teeth kicked in for looking at the enemies the wrong way. Most of the time it was manageable, though, it just took some careful planning, and it honestly made the victories all the more satisfying, even if it took a couple tries.

Other times it was the warden of the Ineluctable Prison and those god forsaken tic swarms.

Xanthir's swarms are an honorable mention, but the tics were something else entirely. I don't know how people dealt with them, but in my run half the party was downed in a single round between con damage and there being like 8 of the things. It was another stonewall, and one of the few times I had to swallow my pride and lower the difficulty to progress. Maybe I could have managed better if I knew it was coming, we'll see in future runs. While I can enjoy a fun challenge, I won't sit through a challenge if it is unfun. Except when I do for completions sake. But I wasn't in the mood to deal with that challenge.

However, to sing some praise for the game, that I could lower the difficulty is amazing. I love that you always have complete access to the difficulty settings. I didn't have to mess with them much, but the quality of life of them just being there was always comforting, and I imagine it's much the same for other new players who were in over their heads. It's a genuinely such a good feature, at least once one can quit being too stubborn to use it, like me.

Deskari was another time I had to lower the difficulty, and again it was mostly because of the swarms. Other than that, he was a very fun fight.

A boss I did not lower the difficulty for, however, was Areelu Vorlesh herself. Tracking her down through Threshold, finally confronting her and learning the truth. It was amazing build up and it was a hell of a fight, and I loved every second of it. With Sosiel on debuffing duty, I slowly brought her down to be hittable, but it wasn't without cost. Before long, everyone by my KC, a couple of summoned azatas, and Arueshalae were all that were left standing, slowly beating her down past her full heals. Admittedly, the fight ended very abruptly. I'm still not entirely sure what happened, because she was fresh off her last full heal, and I can only think of one possible, ridiculously lucky chance for what happened. She did something on her turn to provoke an AoO. I had to crit, because she had drained a good chunk of my dex, which procced Incredible Might. She had to have rolled a 1 on her save, because I was a dex build and had low strength, and then Might had to roll the 5% chance of instantly killing her. I don't know what else it could have been, but frankly, I think it's fantastic that that's how I managed to get the kill. I only even picked up Incredible Might because it was my last Superpower and I wasn't a spellcaster or in need of any more skill checks. Pure, chaotic chance, right in the nature of the Azata.

It's late as of writing this, and plenty I didn't say, like how I basically bypassed Hepzehmirah's fight, because she just walked towards my party members menacingly without actually attacking or doing, anything of note, and plenty more I'm sure I'm forgetting, but what I've said pretty well encompasses my thoughts.

TLDR, it's not a flawless game, far from it, and it can be very unforgiving and frustrating at times, but it is a well crafted story, and a very fun game. Even at the very end, it pulled out one last surprise and revealed that the whole game was a retelling by Areelu herself to Pharasma, and gives you the option to intervene in her judgement. Easily up there in my list of favorite games.

Well, that was a lot, huh? Honestly a lot longer than I thought it was gonna be. Thoughts tend to do that when you write them down. It's like 1:30 AM where I am, so I'm gonna go lay down. If you've made it this far, thank you for reading, I appreciate your time.

EDIT: Realized I forgot about Blackwater after promising to get back to it.

Fuck that place with a lead pipe.

I like it in concept, Nerosian is a fun setting and I'm a sucker for scifi, but fuck man, that place is a death trap. Even knowing how to do it, even hand crafting a merc for the sole purpose of getting through that place, it will bend you over like you're in a prison shower. I feel like it either needed to be better calibrated for Act 3, or it should have been saved and calibrated for Act 5. Act 4 would probably be the perfect spot for it as is, if it wasn't for the act taking place in the Abyss.

Honest Opinion: Neutral Lich before Act 5 is a very viable RP option

This is how I play my mythic quest, and it's mostly fine:

  1. Make a deal with Zacharius at Lost Chapel, and choose Lich path at Drezen, but bury Staunton's corpse as a Knight and flirt with Queen.
  2. Build a Ziggurat and stress you shall make sure not to damage Drezen resident's houses.
  3. Build the Pillar of Skulls for Zacharius
  4. Proceed with Spiritual Bond quest normally into Areelu's Lab
  5. Go into the tomb by persuading Kyado to give you the key (he can't be saved except on Angel or Trickster path anyway), raise Delamere, ask her if she likes the new existence, get sad when she says it's a torment, and lay her back to rest.
  6. Give Ciar the Fang of Malice and convince him you are not Crusaders' enemy.
  7. Choose 'Those plebians don't deserve to learn necromancy!', 'undead fighters should co-exist with the living', etc.
  8. Ask the Siabrae kindly 'Could you release Miammir, pretty please? I can even trade treasures for her!' Get rejected twice, proceed to smh your head and devour his soul as the proper Lord of Death you are.
  9. Laugh at the boy in Gundrun who wants to raise skeletons against you and order the skellies to stab him back instead.
  10. Get to Terendelev's lair and spare the living cultist at the behest of Hal. Not because of mercy, but that he can always be killed afterwards if he's naughty anyway.
  11. To Midnight Fane and get sacked by the Queen! Still have a date with her beforehand.
  12. Now we are in the Abyss, we have less... moral difficulties using our lich power. They all deserve it, after all.
  13. Get told by Zacharius that we have to sacrifice our emotion and soul power for Lichdom!!! Did I not read my fine prints on 'Toward Eternity'? 🤡
  14. Get angry at Zacharius, but you can't do anything against him at this moment anyway.
  15. Pity the poor Alinythia's soul as you awaken him and witness how Nocticula backstabs him
  16. Torture the obsidian mask into submission. It is a body-hopping abomination so it doesn't have human rights anyway.
  17. Answer Zarachius' quiz on Lichdom and give the wrong answer. Get doubly annoyed at Zacharius' mockery.
  18. Smack Goat Boy's Head and get back to Golarion.
  19. Look at the self-raised Staunton, and curse at the general direction of the Ziggurat that Zacharius doesn't send out a single skeleton when Drezen is washed with demons.
  20. Lichdom is overrated anyway, Polymorph into a giant Dragon instead.
  21. Bonus point: You get to burn the smug skeleton face of Zacharius with your holy dragon breath.
  22. Turns out all your lich spells are still intact, throw out Holy Maximized d10 Feast of Blood around, as people worship you as the ultimate figure of mercy

After 218 hours, I finally finished my first playthrough of Kingmaker!

Spoilers below!

Final game length: 5 days 18 hours, or 138 hours. That's 80 hours different from what my launcher says, and I'm not sure why they're so different. I only made it a few hours into my previous playthroughs (just playing with build ideas), so where did ~35% of my playtime go?

Route: I played an LG Paladin and managed to stay LG the whole way. My kingdom was brimming with schools, jails, courts, and orphanages!

Ending: I messed up WAY too much to get the 'true ending', but I convinced Nyrissa to abandon her plans and help me fight the Lantern King in Act 7. Being immortal sounded pretty cool, so I opted for the cursed king and queen (though I never romanced Nyrissa).

Companions missed: I knew I missed Jubilost when I couldn't find a Treasurer, and by visiting the wiki after finishing, I realized I ALSO missed Ekundayo. Not sure how; I went to the Ruined Watchtower in act 2, but never saw him. As for Jubilost, I just never went to the ford where he spawns.

Companion quests: Of the companions I did get, I completed all their companion quests except Amiri's. That stealth section was... I couldn't do it. Considering Amiri was wrecked in every solo battle she attempted, my unfortunate canon ending is she talked a REALLY big game.

Romance: Valerie. She had that AC that didn't quit, and I never left town without her. There were several encounters that hinged on her just standing there while equipped with the amulet that deals 2d6 damage to everything nearby, tanking to victory.

Advisors missed: Banished Tsanna, Bartholomew got merc'ed by his pet troll, killed Vordekai, plus the companions I missed.

Favorite part: clearing out Varnhold, taking on the barbarians, and wrapping up with Vordekai, and finishing with Tristian's betrayal.

Unintentional funny moments:

  1. Fighting my way through the Sycamore caves at level 2, my paladin unconscious while centipedes ate his body, then linzi killing them with a crossbow and leveling everyone to level 3.

  2. Talking my way into Trobold, getting stuck, then trying to leave... only to find all the trolls and kobolds outside still hostile. That was a VERY long combat encounter, entirely supported by summoned skeletons and Amiri's lucky crits.

Things that made me frown:

  1. I never figured out druids. Turn 1 of combat, they turn into an animal, then... do nothing. Just stand there with a ??? above their head, can't move or attack, the only available option to turn back, then repeat until they're out of wild shapes and can actually use magic. This happened in both turn-based and real-time, and I eventually shelved my druid altogether.

  2. Casting a spell with a range of 30 feet, watching my wizard/cleric walk 2 steps, then say they're out of actions (expending the spell slot in the process without casting it). The spells might have required they not move, but it always annoyed me.

  3. The load times. Oh boy. In the beginning, they weren't so bad, but by Act 4, I was measuring load screens in the number of Duolingo lessons I could complete in the time it took to walk from my throne room to the market outside. I stopped upgrading my towns altogether because I couldn't bear having to go through two load screens to do it.

Finishing positive: This was an amazing experience, and I'm looking forward to trying more Pathfinder in the future! How'd my first time stack up to yours?

A cool thing I realized about the Kingmaker villains

As you progress through the game and learn more about Nyrissa, each subsequent villain also knows more about her and gets manipulated less.

First there’s the Stag Lord who basically bought everything she said right up to his dying breath

Then there’s Tartuk and Hargulka who also believe Nyrissa, but are willing to work with the protagonist in their darkest hour

Then Vordokai who acted according to Nyrissa’s desires but in a strongly personal way

Then Armag who was controlled by Nyrissa and her sisters for most of his life, but realized the truth and broke free after many years

Then Tristian who always knew Nyrissa’s true nature, but went along with her because he was fooled about how to get his powers back

Then Irovetti who knew Nyrissa’s true nature and tried to overcome her

Then Nyrissa herself

And finally the Lantern King who was in fact fooling Nyrissa the whole time.

This is a great game!

Kaessi not showing up at feast?

Not sure if a bug or if the wikis and other stuff out there r outdated, but I got the game a while back when it was free on Epic Games, and played up until the the Abandoned Hut where u find out about the Stag Lord's backstory, and decided I liked the game enough to buy the Season Pass.

Kaessi was in the prologue but I just finished the feast where you got crowned as Baron, but she never showed up. It does look like the dlc is active in that I can choose Varnhold's Lot if I start a new game. Am i misunderstanding how this works or should she have showed up by now? I didn't think I needed to start a new game for the dlc to activate but maybe I do?

Any help is appreciated and thanks in advance.

Edit/Update: Rested once in the Throne Room and she appeared in my court. Maybe they've changed how she appears?

I have a little OCD that makes me do game playthroughs with themed special rules. Now Im trying to do WOTR run with only race-based and prestige classes.

The rules are the followings
The only party members are one mercenary of each race with their race specific class and 10 levels of a prestige class.

I cannot repeat prestige classes.

No party member should stay in the bench for too long. I have to use everyone around the same amount of time.

I have to do all 10 levels of each prestige class . No one or two levels dips

I would like help with which prestige class would pair with each race-class, like student of stone or wildlands shaman

i can dip in a third class for mysthic theurge, eldritch knight and Arcane Trickster because the point of these classes is to advance in two pre-existing classes.

i dont plan on going past daring difficulty and I play turn based so i dont think its impossible even if its not the "Mint-Maxed" way to play

Incubus and Succubus aspects?

Hello, asked about general demon classes a few days ago already, but I was thinking. I like fantasy demons. I like when they're social and cunning. And maybe I'm a little bit horny. So perhaps I might enjoy a character that is build around the succubus and/or the incubus aspect. But I don't know the game well, so I'd be thankful for suggestions on how to do this. Modding is okay with me too.

I had a sudden thought. How much of the game is skippable with an all stealth party?

If someone wanted to do as few battles as humanly possible, could they skip most of the battles with stealth, clearing much of the game and rarely having to fight?

Font mod here, check it.

https://github.com/cookEsandcream/MoreFontSizes

this guy made a font mod for kingmaker, and it works.

But this one doesn't, does anyone know how to get it working?
