Hello 👋🏽! Super new to the world of numismatics. I came to realize there doesn't seem to be a website specifically for assessing the current market value of fancy serials. It's sort of a hard problem b/c there are other factors to consider outside of just the serial number (bill grade, denomination, etc). I happen to be a software engineer so as a quick side project I thought it'd be interested to try and build something to help give an idea of what a bill might be worth.
tl;dr - Put a serial number in and it'll tell you if / why it is fancy & give you a cash value based on the average of the last 30 days of ebay sales for that "fancy type" - specifically for $1 denomination (to keep it simple). Yes, probably a bit of a naive approach but I learned a lot building it and maybe it can help 1 or 2 people.
Feedback welcomed.
Found a solid working copy of the 1923 legal tender note. It looks more vivid in life but here it is for perusal.
Went to a local shop on vacation. Was selling some silver rounds but was given an even better option for trade.
So, I did both.
Because I don't collect notes, I wasn't sure on the prices but the coinage was priced appropriately.
What do you think for both picked up at $150 total US?
Got a couple as a tip and have saved them for a while.
Here are mine. 1901 $10 and 1914 $20.
Hello all, question for this community. Is it common for collectors to have certain foreign notes that are rare and in good condition, and notes that have low/interesting serial numbers sent in to be graded? I have some notes from Hong Kong, Germany circa 1937, the ROK and the DPRK, Thailand, and Columbia. I’m wondering if it’s worth getting these specific notes graded along with if it’ll raise the value of these notes.
Thanks in advance!
Just found these.
