Wassup! I'm about to buy my first gift for myself but I'm contemplating if I should buy a mid range PC or a PS4 Pro.
As of now, I enjoy playing single journey games (Spider-man, NFS, Pokémon, etc). My friend TM just lend me his PS4 Slim with some CDs and digital games, that's why I'm thinking if I should just buy a PC worth 300$ or 20k PHP (I'm based in the Philippines).
As for PC. It's my hobby to do video editing (just a light or mid video montage editing) of my games I recorded, I also use lightroom (on my phone) to enhance my photos because I love to shoot sceneries too and looking forward to have a better software for this hobbies. For my gamer self, I'm looking forward to play again on online with amazing people.
So as for this I don't really know what should I buy for myself after working for over a year.
Take note that this will be also my very own first console or personal computer set up, so that's why I'm taking very serious consideration about this.
Hey y'all, I bought my PS4 on release, so she's pretty ancient. I haven't changed the thermal paste in 8 years and can't run most games without it overheating and turning itself off.
I've tried pointing a fan at it, elevating it, setting an ice pack on top of it, cleaning the vents, and praying to the PS4 gods but nothing worked.
So, does anyone have recommendations for affordable brands that work well? Or should I accept the fact that my PS4 is on its last life?
Thanks.
Hi folks,
I just bought a PS4 Pro CUH-7116B second hand and it is suddenly turning off when playing Ghost of Tsushima.
The seller told me they had replaced the thermal paste on processor and replaced the PSU. Seemed like a genuine guy.
I have tried using different power outlets but no difference.
Has anyone experienced this? I am yet to try another game but concerned the console is a lemon..
Thanks
I LOVE MY PS4 PRO! I cannot see much difference with my PS5.
I do not see a reason to discount the PS4PRO!
My dudes,
My ps4 pro (even with new thermal paste) was cracking the fun like hell while in some certain demanding games. I tried to remove the top cover to see if maybe, just maybe, the temps will get down. Not! The fan was still loud and now iv heard some coil whine too.
Hmmmm... while trying to re-mount the top cover on the ps4 pro, i felt that, that metal thing over the power supply was DAMN HOT!. And by pure laziness and curiosity iv placed some random cpu coolers i found in the house over it. Well DAMN! Somehow they absorb the heat, that metal thing is cooler now, and IDK why, the CPU fan is not ramping anymore. I played all the games in my library and the cpu fan stays dead silent.
Just a simple hind for u lads to try out <3 I know it looks stupid, but belive me, somehow it works. I dont think they must be cpu coolers, just big piece of metals to absorb that heat.

I can give serial number or model number..
?
I'm trying to decide whether to buy a new PSU while they are still available or not. My current PSU got noisy (coil whine) after 4 years of using the PS4 Pro. I'm afraid it will happen to the new one sooner or later. Thoughts?
So I got a 4 years old 7216B used, fans were extremely loud. Seller had it repasted, thermal pads were changed, cleaned, worked in complete silence for about 2 months, now it's a bit louder once again, but still ok. I noticed that even when the fans kick in the top of the console is just a little warm, and the air it pushes out is room temperature, not even warm. So what's going on here, any solution? I'm starting to think there are more problems going on with it.
Edit: Supersampling off, 1080p. Boost Mode on Edit 2: For some reason turning off boost mode makes it even worse (in a pro enhanced game Star Wars Battlefront 2 lol)
I'm looking at buying a PS4 Pro, hardly used with two controllers for ~€140. I simply want access to some PlayStation titles, I don't need a PS5.
Hi, I just bought my PS4 pro yesterday, it's my first time owning a ps4, so I tried GTAV and Bloodborne and Everything is good then I tried resident evil 7 and the fan stars to running fast I touched the ps4 cover and it was hot then after playing for a short time it get quieter then I played doom eternal and the fan start running at high speed with aloud noise (its like a Turbine is the ps4) and it never get quieter until I close the game or when I pause the game. Does it is problem or it's just the games. For information it is 1 Tb and 800 Gb is occupied and 70Gb free.
IN 2020 DID anyone get texted or added by a girl and the conversation was good intil she seent me a tit pic of anyone else expirensed it let me know and text my snap withch it freetayk
Now that we have news on ps5 pro development going back to before ps5 launched, I'm wondering the same info about ps4 pro.
Hi all,
I swapped my HDD for an SSD about 1,5 years ago (1TB). I didn't play too much during this time, if I did it was old titles (Dark Souls Remastered).
Now I restarde HZD and there load times are atrocious. Worse than with a HDD. Textures are popping in 3-5 seconds after a cutscenes started, one time I even seen Lara Croft from the very first Tomb Raider meditating on a rock... Took the game like 10 seconds to load that in, texture by texture.
Characters are missing facepaint, missing dirt mapping, only to pop it in a few seconds later.
But the two main pains are the main menu and the load times. The main menu is on 10 fps or lower.
And the load times... Even the first load-in is 5 minutes. I'm actually writing this post while the game is loading. So yeah, fuck this.
Other than cleaning the whole thing (which wasn't done in 6 years, my bad, in plans), is this indicative of a problem with the ssd? Should I reinstall the game? Reformat the drive? It's less than half full as I use an external drive too.
EDIT:
I mistook the emails about the SSD purchases - the Silicon is in the external drive and doing great, while the main SSD was a WD Blue 1TB. And s.m.a.r.t. was saying that it is on 1% condition (media wear indicator). Ouch.
I bought the Samsung and installed it, I will play this evening.
Thank you everyone for contributing!
My PS4 can't start downloading games in rest mode when downloading from the PS App, it just says download queued all day until I manually turn on the console. I have all rest mode features on and it's activated as primary and I have an ethernet cable directly to the router with a static IP and DMZ enabled. Games download without problem if I start the download from the console before entering rest mode. Also I can't wake up the console with the Remote Play phone app with mobile data but I can with wifi. Anyone has the same problem as me? Any help is appreciated, thanks.
MID GAME, during IMPORTANT matches, keeps doing this , WHY? and how do i fix??
So am I'm pretty sure a lot of you experience over heating with the PS4 pro so I'm wondering have any of you figured out what's the best solution to keep your console cool ? ... It seems like once it's been running for a little I'm usually good but usually when I try to play call of duty warzone it almost always overheats when I first start it up once I finally start playing without it overheating than I'm usually good for the rest of the night .. so is it possible this just may be a dirty PS4 situation but I did a light cleaning on my console and changed from an HDD to SDD
Since my ISP installed a Wi-Fi 6 modem, my PS4 Pro won't automatically connect to Wi-Fi when turned on or waking from rest mode.
When this happens, I can't test or configure the internet connection because the console freezes. I can only check the connection, where it shows the network name but doesn't identify the BSSID (which I don’t fully understand). I've tried manual setup, had my ISP technician configure the modem, and reached out to PlayStation support, but nothing has worked. Online solutions haven’t helped either.
This issue is driving me crazy and ruining my gaming sessions since I now have to turn on the console with the modem off, then turn on the modem and reconfigure every time I play. Power cycling the modem and console doesn’t help.
Should I change providers? Is this a modem issue? Could my ISP be blocking something on the modem? Any help is appreciated!
TL;DR: Since getting a Wi-Fi 6 modem, my PS4 Pro won’t auto-connect to Wi-Fi after starting or waking from rest mode, and freezes when trying to test/configure connection.

EDIT: My PS4 has been connected for the last three days, so thanks to everyone here, I think we managed to get it working!
First, I disabled the 5GHz band to troubleshoot, and then I checked if my Nintendo Wii could connect to the 2.4GHz network. Strangely, it couldn't find the SSID automatically, so I had to enter everything manually—SSID, IP, Gateway Mask, primary DNS (I used Google's 8.8.8.8), secondary DNS (OpenDNS 208.67.222.222), and the router IP. Even though it wouldn’t auto-detect my WiFi network, setting it up manually worked fine.
Once that was done, I moved on to configuring the PS4. With the 5GHz band still off, I set the console to only search for the 2.4GHz network and used the WPS button on the router for the 2.4GHz band. The PS4 found it right away, and after that, I configured everything manually—console IP, gateway mask, DNS (the same Google and OpenDNS addresses), and the router IP.
For the MTU, at my PC, I used the command /ping www.google.com -f -l with values between 1440 and 1450. The best response came with 1444, and ChatGPT recommended adding a 28-byte header, so I set the MTU to 1472 on the PS4.
After that, the PS4 connected and has stayed connected for the past three days. Even on 2.4GHz, gaming and streaming have been running smoothly.
Thanks to everyone who helped! I still plan to switch to a wired connection soon, and I'm also changing my ISP because I wasn't satisfied with their support, after all, the ones who helped me were you, dear redditors. But for now, this setup is working well.
My original controller's battery seems to have stopped charging so I want to replace the battery and charging port. I went to Amazon and was sudden aware I have no idea what parts I'm looking for.
Replacing both looks easy as hell but I'm unsure of the exact parts I'm looking for that aren't bullshit. Can someone help?
Edit: Can't give the model on the back because that kind of wore off. If it matters I bought my Pro in 2017 and that's the controller I speak of.
So I just got my first PS4. First PlayStation since PS2 actually!
My brother has a PS5 and gave his old PS4 to my sister. She currently has it set as his primary PS4 so she can access and play all his games.
We thought I could also access his games and play them on mine but it turns out you can only have one PS4 set as a primary at a time.
Is there a possible work around to this if I were to make mine the primary, download the games I want and then set my console to offline. Then my sister could re-set hers as the primary again?
Why do some people put heat near a ps4. I now no of two which is to many
Koja pasta se maze na procesor?
My little brother has an issue with his ps4 pro, that being when he turns it on it shows the playstation logo for like 5-10 seconds then the screen goes dim and he doesnt get to the accounts page. We've tried to do the things that were listed on their site, but no luck. We got it booted into safe mode, but it says connect the dualshock controller via usb and press the ps button, when we did this the controller light was yellow and when we hit the ps button and the light blinks and nothing happens. Does anyone know how to fix this issue and what potentialy caused it to begin with?
Playing gow3 and this was the only part so far that didn't seem to render in correctly.
