I'll never forget RIP ALARM
Since this team is more or less dead now, let's get nostalgic. What was your favorite/best season from this squad? Mine is between season 1 and 3.
Season 1 because of the absolutely fun roller coaster ride that it was. That time when every OWL roster had much more personality and flavor to them, players were a lot more recognizable and we really didn't know what to expect.
Season 3 is this team's best season, record-wise, anyway. That squad was pretty dominant in the west. Before the pandemic hit, this squad had a match against New York that season, and it was the last match I believe those two squads ever played against each other live in front of an audience. If you desperately miss the PHI/NY rivalry like I do, go back and watch that match. I think it was week 2 or 3.
My favorite thing about season 3 in particular, though, was that was the season where they introduced the whole 'role star' thing based on last season. Which I will always believe was a mistake because, well, it was season 2, the season where teams only got to play OW during the last quarter of the season. So, DPS role stars were selected based on a quarter of a season. It was just so satisfying to see Carpe play like a man possessed that season after being snubbed for a role star when we all know any other season he would've easily gotten it while a player like Corey on the Justice got a role star and then retired halfway through the same season while playing horribly for most of it. Same goes for most of the returning roster that season as well, as I don't think anyone on the returning roster got a role star that season as meaningless as it may be at this point.
Anyway, what about you guys?
I'm just curious if anyone here intends to stick with the org now that they've abandoned Philly.
I expect I'll pick a different team. I just see the Seoul move as an F you to Philly. It makes the "player safety" and "visa concerns" excuses of the past 2 years feel like lies, particularly with how many orgs seem to have had Korean players in NA these past years and still avoid Covid infection. Something felt off for a while to me.
Do you intend to follow the Infernal? Or will you jump to a different team? Will you abandon watching OWL entirely? Seems like NYXL, Boston, and D.C. are the 3 geographically closet teams. I'm not sure who I'll root for, but I know it definitely won't be the Infernal. I feel like they abandoned the fans, lied about their intentions for 2 years, and now have finally pulled the plug with basically no fanfare.
It seems like this is a contenders team that has the chance to become a pro team. Will you guys be supporting? Why or why not
Thoughts on this rumor?
With the latest issues involving China affecting the apac, will we hear any news about coming back to home or staying in S. Korea? I miss NA region, eastern time zone games, and watch parties.
I'm not crying, you're crying
If they stay in Korea, would you still support them if they became the Seoul Fusion? I love the team but I also find it tiresome to always be watching VODs, trying to avoid spoilers, and always playing the same 6 teams.
I was thinking of maybe getting teru to join. I feel like he's kinda overlooked at the momment but see lots of potential in him
