It’s just so incredibly expensive(40k is per semester) My family has no money saved up for college and well I hardly have anything to put a reasonable dent in it.
From what I heard, there is no need based financial aid, but maybe a 7k grand and the possibility to take out a loan, and I don’t wanna be in 200k debt.
Is there anything to do about this or am I just screwed?
Hopefully I find at least one forest Technology major on here, as I want to ask about the program. How is it in general? Workload? Professors? Also, do you know, if you wanted to complete a bachelor's degree in forestry, is it relatively easy to transfer to Penn State for the final 2 years? I would love to hear from anybody who is in this major or who knows anybody in it, or even if you have heard anything about it. Thank you!
I am interested in this school and had some questions about parking. How much does a parking permit cost? If you live in the dorms could you keep your car in the college lots? Are those lots generally safe for cars? Thanks for any info you may have!
Like holy crap man, a Cat getting run over, ppl saying the r slur, constant fighting over the littlist of things, This is just exclusive to the stories right?

Im currently in a Votech program school and heard that bc of this, if I graduate I'll receive some college credits, any clue how much?
Does anyone else care that Rafe cam was accused of sexually assault and wasn’t really looked at by the school and the girl transferred out. I think as a heavy male school we need to take accountability and not let these things slide. If anyone has knowledge on this please let me know and it’s not just him if you remember the beginning of the school year. PCT should be a better campus and school for girls.
I have a single apartment lease I need someone to take over. PM me and I'll send you the details!
My mom recently moved out of state and while cleaning out her house I found my old portfolio thing. I remember it being expensive, and I have no use for it anymore. So, if you're a design student and need a portfolio FREE let me know.
According to google theres low crime rates in the city and it should be safe but I'm hearing from others that the city is so bad that someone got their car molotived? Just wanted to know if its truly an alr city.
Hello! I am hoping for some help (even though I know this is a shot in the dark)… my grandmother Ellen went to Pennsylvania College of technology I believe in the late 1950s and perhaps until 1961 where she met a male student and got pregnant. My father is the result of that and was born in March of 1961. I was hoping to find records of the students attending the college in those years but have had no luck thus far. I have called in the past but the individual who answered explained how records were not digital then and were for this reason not kept extremely organized. I would be very thankful for any help!
Would you recommend this major? Is it a good program at this school? I’m looking to apply for next year as a freshman and am looking for some input.
Let's look back at some memorable moments and interesting insights from last year.

Pct is a school I’m considering but have not visited. What’s the overall feel and life like at pct?
I'm currently hiking the PCT and have been trying to send an Amazon package to Mountain HARDWARE. I have the proper address for UPS, but Amazon says that address is not correct. When I put the Mountain Hardware USPS address in the lines, it accepts it. I know the post office doesn't accept UPS packages, and have read multiple reviews about packages being returned because of this. Has anyone had this problem with sending an Amazon box to this location? Side note: it is after hours for Mountain Hardware and will try to call them in the morning, although I have already called them once to varify they do receive UPS, and to ensure I have the correct information.
anyone here a graduate from culinary arts and systems? What was it like? Do you think it was worth it?
Criticism on professors: For me, I went into one of the IT degree's and honestly some of the professors are really incompetent, rude, or just uncompromising. They don't seem to have any type of audit process for bad professors and I don't think reviews are taken seriously. Even though it has a better professor ratio than my last college/university i.e. (3 out of 4 good) to (1 out of 4 bad). It also doesn't seem to have the same level of respect for students being most students that come to PCT are high school students for whatever reason.
Criticism on students: Students are also pretty withdrawn and don't associate much outside their age range unless they're required to i.e. "Group Projects".
Criticism on IT classes: They don't seem to have a variety of programming classes that cover many languages (About half of the classes are Java based), the course descriptions don't accurately describe what a student can expect in xyz class, and they have a shoot the messenger like mentality being they don't take criticism because of the previously mentioned respect comment. Some of the teachers are just blatantly horrible, have exceptionally difficult course content for no other reason than they don't seem to be held accountable by the administration at the college, the ones that aren't exceptionally difficult don't seem to be native english speakers or have any ability to 'teach' whatsoever, etc. I had an IT professors class where I had to literally correct 15-20 grammar/spelling errors to decipher what the 'professor' was actually asking. Mind you this is technical content. There doesn't seem to be any competency requirements for professors to become tenured at this college, nonetheless a 'professor'.
Criticism on parking: parking is pretty horrible, irregardless of if you're a commuter or a resident. They often-times have events that take up the majority of the resident or commuter lots and the Penn College Police still make rounds ticketing people for parking anywhere, despite the fact that the parking pass you just purchased is pretty worthless considering when they hold these events whether it be a high school tour requiring buses to be parked across the commuter or resident lots taking the majority of spots.
Citing of 'bad professors'. You don't have to look far to find bad professors or ones that are particularly obnoxious or uncompromising in the IT degree at PCT:

basic question for you. If you start at the traditional time at Mexico border, stay on the trail, not have to leave the trail for injury or other issues, and just keep plugging along all summer, do most folks make Canada border? Do you have to really put in the miles, or if you are slow and steady every hiking day available in the season can you make it? I presume by mid season you are a hiking machine and can make up many miles a day if you are behind? Just curious, as I am almost 60, am just starting to consider. Due to my age I would really have to start off slowly and build to avoid injury-- but if I had the whole season clear, and I was lucky enough to avoid injury, what are the chances of success?
Overall, I was impressed with the school and the look of the campus. The buildings are all very new and have a nice appeal which I feel will add to the academic environment. I am looking forward to attending when I get back from deployment. Anyone from the Automotive Majors want to chime in on what they think of that program? I would also like to hear from anyone about what they like about the school and the surrounding area. I ate at Brickyard last night, it was good.
I am currently enrolled in an Automotive Engineering program at another school but I am considering transferring to PCT for the Fall 2016 semester. What are your thoughts on the school itself and for the surrounding area? I am looking to live off campus in a rental, how is the market? I am interested in learning more!
