A great place to start discovering synthwave is the earlier mentioned Synthwave Essential Album Chart.
Playlists on spotify that we recommend are "Synthwave in Space" playlist by aof3d or his "Synthwave Underground" playlist consisting of lesser known synthwave artists.
Youtube is also a great way to discover new music, there are many good youtube channels. Most notably:
If you want a continues stream of synthwave check out the synthwave station on Digitally Imported Radio curated by our very own mod /u/liamemsa.

Hey everyone. I’ve been into synthwave since around 2020 but I don really know a lot of artists (even though as far as I understand there aren’t a lot) or a lot of good albums, only a few. I’ve read the Synthwave chart on this sub and I have discovered some good music from it but I would also like to know your opinions and recommendations. Currently my favorite albums are Outrun by Kavinsky, Redline by Lazerhawk, Nightcall ep by Kavinsky and also the Hotline Miami EP by Scattle (not sure if its considered Synthwave though). I love the type with few to no vocals, fat synth bass, catchy leads etc. I also like some Darksynth, particularly Carpenter Brut and Perturbator, but I’m currently trying to find more “normal” Synthwave music. Thanks in advance
Trying to expand my synthwave playlist, what are some good songs? I prefer ones with vocals.
But, is a lot of synthwave/Outun music simply just AI generated? It's hard to find much info on the "creators" of some music. I mostly listen to AppleTunes, and the album art all seems AI-generated, I was just wondering if the music was, too.

Is outrun becoming a aestetic for corporate brands or is this a one off?
Hey everyone,
Looking for some help identifying this sick track. Was in an 80s aesthetic vid on tiktok but the artist and title are nonsense. Did some digging and it appears to be some indonesian guy trying to evade copyright strikes on his tiktoks. He has a spotify and a youtube with a few other short tracks that are completely unrelated. The link below is the snippet of track he used (same fake title and artist he listed on tiktok), it's obviously incomplete.
