This scene from Luxor Temple shows Tutankhamun wearing the blue ‘khepresh’ crown. The cartouches in this scene were later altered to bear the name of Horemheb, but the figure of Tutankhamun remained unchanged.

The mummy of Peftjauneith, inspector of temple estates in the Egyptian Nile delta, was found lying in this beautifully painted coffin. The decoration is an indication of his high function in society. The coffin is made of solid wood which must have cost a fortune in Egypt.

A rare historical archival photo dating back to the late eighteenth century AD. It was photographed by the photographer Felix Bonfils in Egypt. It shows a young man sitting on the ground, and next to him is a group of ancient Egyptian mummies for sale.
