Propane fire table

Is there anything I can do to distribute the warmth to the side rather than upward? Most of the heat I can’t feel since it goes upwards

Carinthia Schlafsack Defence 4 vs 6

Hi!

Was sind da eure Erfahrungen/ Empfelungen?

Danke im voraus!! 🤝🏼

What is the best accessory for a cozy patio?

Hello everyone, I wanna share the best investment I made for my outdoor living space - I got a fire table! I wasn't sure about buying it at first, but I've used it more than I expected. It's definitely kept me cozy on cooler summer nights, and I've had some memorable conversations around it. I'd love to add more to my space...what's been your best patio investment?

Can a ComeAlong pull something out of the ground?

Trying to remove an old section of rolled up fence w extremely deep weeds growing thru it so tight I can't pull/dig or even cut it out. The next plan was to have a fellow bring his draft team over & pull it out but then I thought maybe a comealong could do it? There is a rather sturdy ash tree a few feet away if I need to use that as a brace? but I've not really used a comealong before only seen them work. Suggestions? Advice? The fence section is about 2 ft wide, 18" tall, 2 ft deep. Trust me on how tightly bonded to the earth it is.

Functionality or Cool look?

I've been running a business for long enough and sometime all I want is to just keep working outdoors. So I was thinking to go out on a long road trip to mountains for hiking and camping.

I've been thinking a lot about how we choose our gear. Recently read this whitepaper from ISPO that talked about the importance of balancing needs and desires when it comes to outdoor products. Do you prioritize functionality over the cool factor, or do you just try to find a balance?

Would love to hear your thoughts! I mean in case of Bike-wears I go for looks tho but in more serious cases what is your take?

Hey folks

As we gear up for more outdoor adventures under the sun, I'm realizing the importance of sunscreen application. However, I've encountered a bit of a conundrum. How do you effectively apply and reapply sunscreen when you're out and about in the great outdoors?

New homeowner- can I glue faux brick onto lattice?

Hi! I want to cover this lattice area with strips of faux brick, so it will match the rest of the house for a seamless look. I don’t like the lattice. Can anyone tell me if there are any issues with covering it? There’s no code against doing that, right? Also, what type of application should I use to make sure it’s done correctly? Glue? Nails? Or should we take it down entirely and then put something else up? Any suggestions or tips are greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Repairing an old Sierra Leone tent

I need to repair the sealing of this old, but very well used tent. The old sealing material is torn and needs to be removed.

I found a recommendation for a sealant (https://www.gearaid.com/products/seam-grip-sealant-waterproof?variant=28044147153) each tube of of which would cover 3.5 meters.

Anyone having experience with how much I would need?

Also I have never used a nikiwax product on the tent. Which one would you recommend for maintaining the waterproofing of the outer tent?

Thanks!!!

Sick Hack for On Leash Dog Rules at Campsites

I was camping earlier this year and saw such a cool trick! If you have a dog and are going to an on-leash campsite, bring a cable and carabiner. Tie the cable between two trees in your campsite and then attach the carabiner to the leash and cable. That way they can roam around the campsite and have more room while following the rules!

Crackling Nights and Cozy Delights: Outdoor Fireplace Inspiration

Outdoor fireplaces for camping can be a great way to enjoy a campfire experience while adhering to safety and environmental guidelines. Here are some options and tips for setting up outdoor fireplaces for camping:

  1. Portable Fire Pit: Portable fire pits are excellent for camping because they are easy to set up, pack, and transport. They come in various sizes and materials, including metal and stainless steel. Look for models with foldable legs or carrying cases for convenience.
  2. Fire Ring: Many campgrounds provide designated fire rings or fire pits at individual campsites. These are typically safe and approved options for campfires. Always use these designated areas if available.
  3. Leave No Trace Principles: When camping in areas without designated fire pits, follow Leave No Trace principles and use a Leave No Trace fire pan or a fire blanket. These tools help contain your fire and protect the ground beneath it from damage.
  4. Firewood: Use only locally sourced firewood to prevent the spread of invasive pests and diseases. Do not transport firewood from home to your campsite. Instead, purchase firewood locally or gather dead and downed wood from the surrounding area.
  5. Fire Starters: Bring fire starters, such as firewood kindling, newspaper, or commercial fire starters, to help ignite your campfire easily.
  6. Safety Equipment: Always have a fire extinguisher, a bucket of water, or a hose nearby to quickly control the fire in case it gets out of hand. Ensure everyone in your camping group knows how to use these safety tools.
  7. Fire Regulations: Check local fire regulations and any campfire bans in the area you plan to camp. Some areas may prohibit open fires during certain seasons due to fire danger.
  8. Fire Size: Keep your campfire small and manageable. A larger fire can be difficult to control and may be more dangerous.
  9. Supervision: Never leave a campfire unattended, and ensure it is completely extinguished before going to sleep or leaving the campsite.
  10. Respect Wildlife: Be mindful of the local wildlife. Don't leave food scraps or trash around your campfire, as this can attract animals.
  11. Cooking: Use the campfire for cooking if desired. Bring a grill grate or a tripod with a cooking pot for campfire cooking. Remember to follow food safety guidelines.
  12. Firewood Storage: Store your firewood away from the campfire to prevent sparks and embers from igniting the woodpile unintentionally.
  13. Extinguishing the Fire: When you're finished with your campfire, allow it to burn down to a bed of coals. Then, pour water on the fire and stir the ashes until they are cool to the touch. Ensure that no embers are left smoldering.

Always prioritize safety and respect for the environment when using outdoor fireplaces while camping. Following these guidelines will help you enjoy the warmth and ambiance of a campfire responsibly.
