It is not the ending which sucks. It is actually very good. But poor buildup towards it ruined it. And entire movie arc was destruction of entire story and should be rewritten. Scandal arc should have been extended and should have covered realistically serious topics. Some mini arcs which should cover some areas of conflict. Some characters like Taiki, Ruby, Melt, Minami, Abiko, Yoriko, Goa, Frill, Memcho and many more should have been more actively involved in the story. Characters from kaguya sama, especially the Yakuza influence should also be included since it was mentioned in ch 142 and also quite realistic. Hikaru should of writter more terrifying instead of this poorly written. If not, some terrifying godfather or godmother figure should be villain and to be well written. Incest should be handled well or if not do not include it
This are the things which I wish I could tell mangaka to improve its quality but cannot. What is the opinion of folks of reddit by the way?
Been on a long hiatus from manga and anime since finishing Love is War but started reading again to finish OnK. I really enjoyed the relationships between the characters and the focus on their individual careers and would like recommendations for manga that have similar vibes in that sense.
I also would appreciate any recommendations for manga that have main characters similar to Akane or Aqua
I
I can't stop crying.
I definitely have opinions on the ending, but it's nothing that hasn't been said before. That being said, I don't think it's an awful ending.
Honestly, this post is less about critique and more about commiserating with my fellow readers.
It was devastating.
So I really wanna buy the manga but idk what to do.
By what I saw it's translated to English up to the 10th volume or at least it is available to buy up to that only but I want like an box set and idk if it will ever come out
Should I just wait? And how much waiting? What should I expect to happen?
I made a post yesterday about how I think the ending is good, and that the hate is undeserved. Like I said, I think the ending is really good and all the reasoning behind hating it just doesn't seem that good to me. Can someone explain to me in great detail why they may have disliked it?
As said in the title I want to know where to watch season 2 of the anime because the ending of season 1 was straight ass. I’m in the uk
Hello everyone!
Came here with aforementioned question in the title. Where can I watch legally? Obviously, I know this is an Amazon’s production, but the case is it’s somehow not available on Central European version of the app. It’s there any possibility to watch it somehow, maybe on other platforms or sites? Thanks!
Despite having read the manga twice, watched the anime, and read the novels, I never actually bothered watching the MV. It just came up on my Youtube autoplay and I had an epiphany.
One of my criticisms of the ending is that we never got to see Ai's "dark side" she's always talking about, or really much of her real self. We don't even get to see whatever Taishi ended up recording for her, nor Ruby's CD.... Unless both CDs were just halves of the interview they showed Kamiki, which if so, LOL.
But I think there's a satisfying explanation for at least one of those. I think Ai's "dark side", that as far as I recall, is only ever brought up by her, is just the normal girl with normal emotions, some of which happen to be negative. Since Ai is very emotionally stunted, she sees this "norrmal" side of her as bad.
In the Idol MV she (the lyrics) says she's never loved anyone, which obviously isn't true because in the CDs she says she loved Kamiki. I think she never considered her love for him as "true" love because it's not like the "love" you'd see in movies and such, heart pouding out of your chest, crazy blushing, all that stuff. Especially since she's a victim of CSA and with no parents to model what normal love is like.
Honestly if Aka hadn't inteded to kill Ai from the start, I could see the original plan for the story being Ai slowly learning what "normal" love is like through the more emotionally mature Gorou. Especially following that hospital rooftop scene where he works through his feelings (?) for her (as best he can).
Also, this:
Crazy how much planning had to go into the EDs and OPs for Aka to still fumble catastrophically. Bro needs a co-writer who doesn't get bored.
I've been searching for a fanfiction where Aqua tells everyone, aka the people he's close to, like the Love For Real cast, Miyako and myb the Director guy? He tells them about the whole reincarnation, who he was beforehand, etcetera. Maybe he talks about how Ruby is the same. If they dont believe him, myb he shows them the vid of him and Ruby doing the otagei properly or smth, idk. Either way, I'm aure yall understand where I'm getting at.
PLEASE IF ANYONE KNOWS LEMME KNOW I RLY RLY AM STARVED FOR SMTH LIKE THIS!!!!
Ya know, it would be cute if Ai’s bday was in March, and that she named Ruby and Aqua after hers and Hikaru’s birthstones. We know that Hikaru’s bday is 27th July, and the birthstone for July is ruby. So if Ai’s birthday was in March, the birthstone being aquamarine, it may be that she named her children this, to get like a better connection to her and Hikaru, or smtg like that. Wouldn’t be too unlikely since Ai did say she wanted to be together with Hikaru in her video, so kind of naming one of their kids after him is not an impossibility. I don’t think theres any solid or concrete foundation for this theory, but still cute idea.
My question if anyone is willing to discuss is who would be part of the phantom thieves(as in who would replace who)and who are the confidants
It may be a hot take, but here we go: I agree, the ending could have been a chapter or two longer. But to be honest, I really like the ending and feel like it had a good amount of closure. I beleive that it truly showed how much Aqua wanted to protect his loved ones and Kamiki's death was very satisfying to me. I dont need more of Kana crying over Aqua's death to understand her feelings. Akane had her monolog at the end, the director is clearly affected, most of the people Aqua worked with briefly talked about the release of the movie and Ruby shines on despite the darkness. (the point of her character!) I think if it had gone on too much longer it would have taken diluted the ending, the shortness shows just how sudden and suprising Aqua's death really was. A good story will almost always feel a little bit unfinished because people loved it so much.
I was thinking Instead of Aqua's tape having a plot point that went nowhere and we never got to see Ruby's tape. You know what could've been cool. What if they referenced or even used the first opening of the show Idol by yasobi as the basis for what's in the tapes. Ai saying everything she couldn't say to her kids. Maybe the tapes wouldnt seem so useless in the end.
I just finished the manga and I don’t understand why the ending is like this. I understand Aqua dying and that’s fine as I expected that but the ending just feels super rushed. I feel like the characters moving on and their resolutions were super short. Why was Kana’s resolution and reaction to his death only a couple pages long. We know she loved Aqua but there was so much more we could’ve known about her character and her development. This goes for other characters too because Aqua affected everyone’s lives and we barely get to see them come to terms with it and show how much he actually changed their lives. I just wish that the ending went more in depth with the characters and Aquas death because it makes the characters moving on have no weight with how short the ending was.
So since Ruby became another Ai, what if Melt becomes another Hikaru? If I’m remembering right, Melt got taken advantage of by an upperclassmen or someone. Not as extreme as Hikaru’s case but still. Ruby gets pregnant as Aqua is reborn as her child, something happens ig and Melt kills Ruby, then Aqua is on the path of revenge again, Aqua stabs himself again and both Melt and him drown in the ocean. Finally, Akane and Kana can be with each other. The end!
so I just had this random thought, how can I make the oshi no ko feel better than what we got, at least for me, now I am not a writer, so not this will not make much sense.
story goes exactly as it did untill the last 2-3 pages of chapter 163, before aqua disappears, tsukuyomi says "you have done well, a 3rd chance it is".
we then see tsukoyomi getting aqua out of the water, treating his wound (shes a god she probably has that ability), we get to the point where its reported of kamiki's death, along with aqua however his body is missing probably due to drowning in the sea, everything goes as the original but we go to aqua and see him alive getting a fake ID naming himself Gorou Homiya.
a time skip montage of aqua going to medical school, along we see a female detective going over the case of hikaru kamiki and aquamarine hoshino's death, we see aqua becomes a surgeon (gorou's dream), a young woman in her mid to late 20s is seen asking to see Dr Homiya at the reception, the receptionist leads the woman to his office, the receptionist leaves the woman in front of the office, a knock is heard we hear gorou saying come in, openning the door the woman removes her cap and glasses, with gorou looking surprised, the woman says it took a long time to find you.... aqua the woman is revealed to be akane kurokawa former actress and currently a detective.. the end.
just a random scene that popped in my mind while eating, I wanna know what others think of this, so go ahead
Right now, there is a ONK Exhibition by Parco going on in Japan. The exhibition includes 2 options of audio guides, one done by Aqua and Akane, and other done by Aqua and Kana.
I plan to translate both audio guides and share them in January, after the exhibition is over, similar to what I did with the Ai's audio guide in a previous exhibit
I've already received the Aqua and Kana audio from one person, so I'm looking for people that are in Japan, or plan to visit Japan, and are interested in going to the exhibit so that they can share the Aqua and Akane guide with me.
The exhibit will be happening on Shinsaibashi, Osaka from December 13 to January 13 (It's also happening on Fukuoka right now, but it ends tomorrow)
