I was reading through the posts, when I saw someone say that it may be possible that this all was just Goro's imagination after he hit his head. Kr is it? We saw, before Goro's death, that he was able to build a "friend-like" relationship with Ai (and maybe, just maybe he'll be able of a more romantic one); And, all of what happened in Gojo's head is Ai's and the twins future if he didn't do something. So my theory for the ending is Gojo becoming a Family Friend (or step father) and prevent Ai's death, changing all the suffering the twins went trough. Gojo will be able to see the happy and lively aqua he once wanted to be.
Akane has proved once more that she is indeed the best girl in the entire series.
(( Meanwhile, Akane was seen walking along the shore, paying her respects to Aqua. She reflected on his motives, believing that Aqua had killed Kamiki to protect Ruby and her future. She felt convinced that Aqua had wanted to live, as his recent expressions had hinted at a new sense of purpose.
She was also heartbroken that Aqua hadn’t reached out to her for help in planning Kamiki’s murder. She believed they could have orchestrated the perfect crime together and was prepared to “go to hell” as long as she could be with him. ))
i lost the original link… but i saw it is an official poster. here’s a naatan fan account’s repost of it: https://x.com/nana_no_nagi/status/1852144934922654095?s=46
This is gonna be short and random but there are points in the anime where aqua is narrating the story as if he is telling a story such as when he narrates that everyone is older and attending high school in season one and at the end of season two when he catches us up with what has happened in the following months. Maybe in the end we will learn that it’s all just a story created by some type of author. If you think this is just a trash idea remember that I had the worst grade when it comes to English in school. 😉
Ch.165 Aqua becomes one with the blue sea while ruby gets to shine in the media as her name is ruby. Aqua gets buried next to aqua. Akane commits sewer side because she could not take it anymore but she also published the movie so aqua dad will be known as murderer. Now the society knows the danger of mental health within acting world. Kamiki corp crumble and the girl who helped him got into prison for supporting a criminal. Mamako cried with kana and the devil upperage girl.
Ch.166 We see ruby pregnant and the baby is a boy. It was actually aqua and ruby hug them. Crow girl then says, "your life has a meaning, don't waste the second chance I gave you." Then disappear into the sky. At the end, baby aqua and ruby walk into the grave of ai and akane saying, "I will never Forget you as long as I live." We see the final moment of ruby with stars dancing on stage with komi b group while aqua loses his dark stars into white one.
Firstly, we both are used to sad ending, so it being sad or not won't misjudge our opinion.
Things said, we both are at chapter 164
For Me, having followed it weekly since the beginning, the ending look very bad
But for him, having started last week and reading it all in one go, the ending didn't seem bad.
Do you think following it weekly influences the view about the ending?
Why was it certain that the narrative would have been that Aqua was a murderer?
They've just been through an attempt of taking ruby's life, did no one think to use that as the excuse why Aqua is confronting Kamiki?
Nino tried to kill Ruby, Kamiki is suspected to have orchestrated this, the brother in a fit of rage, fear, and impulsiveness, confronted Kamiki, and when confronted, he turned violent and aggressive, and Kamiki died in the altercation.
As it stands, the attempt to take the sisters life and the death of her brother are just coincidentally a few hours apart? I mean the last we saw of Nino she was looking sad and all but they surely took her to the police. The manga itself said that at the end Kamiki was already kinda hands off, and Nino is already off her rockers and made the decision themselves, so she is still homicidal, and a danger to Ruby's life. And they were prepared so they could have recorded this, give justification that the recording was for the police but it really is just for the media. And if she denies that Kamiki was involved, we're already playing the card that she's crazy and untrustworthy, she's being manipulated by Kamiki, we saw an image of her apartment where she's clearly obsessed with ai and is mentally unwell. And the biggest piece of evidence that Kamiki was involved is that he's dead, why when confronted did everything turn violent? he can still "stab" Aqua, the current narrative also already has that Kamiki and Aqua's death happened because Kamiki was angry with the decisions in the script so it's the same thing, he's angry. The only difference is that Nino gets added (not forgotten) to the equation
I just finished the rushed missed potential of Bye Bye Earth and now i just read the rushed latest chapter of oshi no ko, man I guess I love pain.
This ending would have been way better if it was paced well and also if Aquas character development did not have too get crushed by a brick wall. Bye Bye Earth and oshi no ko have to things in common, you wanna know what they are? Rushed/ flip floppy character development. If aqua was just constantly descending to the darkness and did that, I wouldve been satisfied or if we saw him struggle through the "getting better" process and then he did this, i also would've been fine with it. But no, it's just this flip floppy character development mixed with rushed pacing of not only the few latest chapters but the movie arc in a way, that makes this character just seem stagnant at the end of the day.
The only reason why I'm not completely flipped over the moon over this ending is because this is how aka writes, if you have read the kaguya series, you would definitely know what i mean.
I love Akane but I hate how the author does her sometimes idk
Can I just say... don't expect the happy ending from this author?
Ignore the rest😭 I drew this in geometry
Based on the corpse bride
Ik many people are upset about the current ending of the manga but tbh I prefer this over some Micky mouse clubhouse ahh ending where hikaru is just forgiven or aqua not facing consequences after him killing hikaru bro clearly wanted to do something and did the very thing he wanted to do even tho he had regrets which I'm more than satisfied with even tho it's definitely sad
I just catched up with the anime and damn the last few episodes where so good. I need to continue this. Which chapter should I read ?
I think this ending will works better if Aqua never reveal who he is to Ruby.
Aqua still knows who Ruby is, so everything works as is for his perspective.
'Ruby knows' aren't needed for everything related with Kamiki, i mean Ruby already know Aqua want to find their father.
'Ruby knows' only add behind the scene affection for Aqua during filming, which i don't think it's that necessary.
Without it though, Aqua & Ruby relation stay bad until the end. Which make Aqua sacrifice less selfish. Also it keep them as a contrasting pair, and make Ruby ending less sad.
What do you think?
I’ve seen very mixed reactions to Aqua’s death and I don’t understand why some people are so upset. The reason I say this is because I personally believe it was the most fitting regarding the themes. This story has always been dark, it’s always been about Aqua/Goro’s tragedy. About decisions that are made not making perfect sense. For instance: Ai’s reasoning for breaking up with Hikaru and Aqua’s decision to kill himself along with Hikaru. He has had his goal stated since the early chapters, that goal being: To get his revenge, and even though they “Get it” with the CD, when Aqua realizes Hikaru manipulated Nino into trying to murder Ruby, he snaps. Thinking that the only way to save his sister from this monster is by killing the monster, while not sacrificing her reputation. Who made a decision similar to this? Ai. Ai did, making an irrational decision while trying to process something massive. The story, through it’s clear direction was never meant to turn into the Rom-Com that some people would have preferred it turn to. I believe it was meant to show the tragedy of three children (Ai, Aqua and Ruby). So in my eyes, 164 only had one route to go if it didn’t want to ruin the stories integrity. (This is an OPINIONATED PIECE, Opinions are subjective and this is not meant to be an attack on anyone, just sharing my thoughts).
Hey, you are finally awake. You hit your head pretty bad there, Doctor. Reincarnation? Crow Girls? What are you talking about? Hurry up, you have to deliver Ai's babies soon.
disregarding the direction of the manga's ending, its still so cool how the lyrics and visuals foreshadow so much. i love it when they go out of their way to do shit like this. makes looking back so much more fun.
So, chapter 164 just dropped. I’m not gonna unpack the series until it actually finishes, so instead, here’s my stupid theoretical for the ending of the series. The worst possible ending. (Also, sorry to the mods or auto bot or whatever that had to take down my post of this yesterday. I wasn’t aware of the 24 hr rule. 😔) Ahem. Let’s begin.
We cut to Ruby, watching the news of aqua’s death, smiling, as she rubs her belly. That’s right, she’s pregnant. 🤰 The father? Aqua. The child? Also aqua. 🤯
That’s right, aqua is coming back to life as ruby’s son and soon to be husband, under the name “Baqua.” That’s right, this is set up for a sequel series: “Baqua: oshi no ko next generation.”
Cut to credits. 😎
(I hate this.)
So this last performance we see by B Komachi is also Kana's graduation from being an idol. She was surely looking forward to see Aqua's reaction to her final performance. Only to find he's supposedly been killed (on the news)
Imagine trying giving your best effort to impress your crush and he fucking kills himself 💀💀 I can't
Based on where we’re at, what would you consider a “good” ending for the series?
I keep seeing endings that people wouldn’t be happy with so curious what people would consider a “good” ending at this point. Mainly looking for good in that it’s not a trashy ending. Though you’re welcome to share what a happy ending that could still happen would be like for you.
My “good” though tragedy ending despite being a Kana stan (Ai is my #1) would be that she ends up with the child actress fate as it’s the most realistic and ends up joining Aqua in death. She lost the person who kept her shining and even though she’s overcome a lot of child actress stereotypes, that’s like the nail in the coffin for her. I can also see Himekawa taking on the brother role since he’s Ruby’s half brother and pretending to be Aqua for her so she could live in a delusion that Aqua is alive as a coping mechanism. Himekawa spent quite a bit of time with Aqua and is an actor plus Ruby’s half-brother so I feel like he’d step up for her in that way. I don’t see how Ruby can properly cope losing both Gorou and Aqua so if she doesn’t end her life then feel like she may go that route. Even if a small part deep inside knows Aqua is gone, she’d choose to live in a delusion.
I feel like those are a bit more realistic of an ending and it was said that not all characters would get a proper send-off.
Also, just wanted to point out this as an extra tidbit. But since it also said the ending would shock a lot of people, like some other readers, I do also speculate that the whole series is a movie. Hence the brackets for【Oshi No Ko】since it was said that would play a significant part too from an interview from Aka & Mem or something like that. Idk how I’d feel about that ending though. Like a bit happy that everyone would actually be alive but with all the characters going through stuff I feel like I’d feel more distant as a reader? May just depend on how they execute it, but since there’s only 2 chapters left I definitely feel like it’d feel rushed though maybe the very last chapter would focus solely on that.
