Four years ago I posted to r/swordartonline asking when is the birthday of our Lord Klein? At the time he did not have a stated birthday and this was a travesty. It has come to my attention now that the author posted a list of birthdays for the cast, and that Klein's birthday is tentatively stated as November 28, 1999. The universe just became a little more balanced.

He is so strong and threatening that at first Asuna worries that he is enemy reinforcements. He makes a solo entrance ahead of the pack of the rest of the remaining cast, because he is the best and is the true Best Friend of Kirito (not the dead flower imposter). He takes out dozens - nay, hundreds - of enemies in one fell swoop as he materializes in the world like a cyclone or a hurricane, because he is legandarily powerful. He does a based superhero landing, because he is a badass and always has been since the days of leading a whole guild through Aincrad with zero casualties despite regularly fighting on the front lines. He places himself between Asuna and the oncoming enemy force, because he is selfless and protective. He releases a humorous one-liner demonstrating his sharp mind and wit. He breaks the fourth wall by speaking to us his faithful followers, apologizing for how long he has been away for (Klein never has to apologize for anything, dark forces which undervalue him keep him from us). Asuna's eyes shine and her voice breaks as she gasps in awe and gazes upon him thankfully, finally recognizing what a devoted and capable friend he is and for once really Seeing Klein's potential. The episode ends at this point, because Klein is the pinnacle and the reward. The other randoms can wait til next week. Klein is the true hero of SAO. Alicization has finally begun now that Klein has entered the game.

My only complaints are that it took this long and that he doesn't get a new outfit for the latest game the way Asuna, Sinon and Leafa do.

The imposter best friend has been vanquished!! Thank you lady Pontifex for ridding the world of this evil and removing Kirito's bias and blindness. Now Klein can return where he belongs and go back to being Kirito's Best Friend, as things should be.

how dare?? I am deeply offended. this other guy is pretty lame and pathetic, and not even the slightest bit funny or witty. AND Kirito has never even really BOTHERED to properly appreciate Klein's friendship, he just rebuffs him and ignores him. this is a travesty. this is KLEIN ERASURE. they think they can REPLACE Klein? Klein is the OG Kirito Friend, he's had his bro's back from the beginning, through thick and thin. he has a heart of gold and he's strong. everyone is hailing Eugeo as a breath of fresh air giving Kirito a male friend and diluting the harem format a bit. WTF?? WHAT ABOUT KLEIN? HE'S ALWAYS BEEN THERE. this is heretical and appalling, frankly, Klein is criminally underappreciated in this show. it doesn't deserve him.
