Trying to find an R&B Song

I have been trying to find out the name of the song and artist for years! It is a male artist and he kinda sounds like Stevie Wonder a bit. It is an 80s or possibly a 90s r&b song with the lyrics:

If you feel like I feel then you know my love is real and real is what you said you’re looking for. I don’t believe in wasting time, I’ve got to say what’s on my mind. I’m in love with you, just thought I’d let you know.

Chorus: Even if you think I’m crazy, excuse me if I act a fool I just can’t help it, baby. I’m so in love with you.

!!! NEW SUBGENRE FLAIRS ADDED !!!

After thinking about it, I decided, well, time to add some flairs indicating subgenres of R&B. But in my personal opinion, I think of R&B more as the Supergenre of the genres, rahter than the genre of the subgenres, but the typical R&B fans think subgenres when hearing terms like Soul, Funk, Motown, etc.

anyway, here's the subgenres added to the flairs...

#SUBGENRES

a "placeholder" flair which serves as a line separating music genres from other categories for flairs.

#Rhythm & Blues

R&B started off as an abbreviation of this phrase!

#R&B

Some people think of R&B without hearing the phrase "rhythm and blues" in their mind.

#Funk

lots of funk songs are in the "R&B" category.

#Disco

a genre related to funk, you might think of it as a subgenre of funk, so that makes it a sub-sub-genre of R&B, even though I think of it as a super-funk-sub type deal.

#Soul

sometimes used interchangeably with "R&B"

#Rap

considered a R&B subgenre since many early rap songs sampled songs from R&B subgenres.

#Hip Hop

one might use the term interchangeably with rap.

#Electro

electro tracks, such as Newcleus, Grandmaster Flash, Afrika Bambaataa, Kraftwerk, etc.

electronic music, sometimes called "electrofunk".

#New Jack Swing

upbeat 90s music, one might call it "dance music", which is part of the R&B genre.

examples: Bobby Brown, Keith Sweat, Guy, Color Me Badd, Vanessa Williams, Teddy Riley, etc.

tracks from the New Jack City soundtrack are some examples to also refer to.

#Oldies

A term used to refer to tracks released between the 1950s and the 1970s, which spans many genres such as really early rhythm & blues (R&B's namesake), some jazz, doo-wop, motown, rock and roll, The British Invasion, psychedelic, and more.

many tracks that are considered oldies also fall into the category of being part of the Billboard charts during the era, so one might think that R&B also stands for "radio & billboard", since lots of tracks from the billboard charts tend to be from some subgenre of R&B, especially if you consider the earliest for of it to be the stylistic origins of the genres.

#Motown

Motown from the 1960s

examples being The Temptations, Four Tops, Stevie Wonder, The Supremes, etc.

#Doo-Wop

a 1950s era genre.

#Rock & Roll

according to a history book I read, it says that Rock & Roll's formation started from that of some older versions of the country, blues, and gospel genres, so one might see it as a R&B subgenre, since the blues also belong to "rhythm and blues".

#Soft Rock

might sound like a blend of pop rock and contemporary R&B.

#Classic Rock

what we think of as "classic rock" is late 60s to early 80s chart topping rock music hits.

For example, War's song Low Rider has appeared on both R&B radio playlists, and classic rock radio, in addition to some Santana and Steely Dan which might also qualify as R&B and classic rock.

So, for that reason, I consider classic rock another R&B subgenre.

#Rock

a genre that evolved from Rock & Roll, by dropping the "and roll" part when it got more modernized.

#Reggae

a genre from Jamaica.

I was convinced that it was a subgenre of R&B when reading about it on Wikipedia.

#Ska

similar to reggae

#Blues

an old timey music genre which was a genre that had "and blues" added after it as the genre evolved.

#Chicago Blues

a really famous form of blues from Chicago

#Delta Blues

an old timey subgenre of blues from the Mississippi delta

example: Robert John

#Jazz

Sometimes mentioned with "and blues" after it

#Gospel

some music which sounds like a church choir type music, some might think it sounds like "blues", and was one of the stylistic origins of rock and roll, according to some school history book I read.

#Smooth Jazz

a smoother variant of jazz, which might overlap with R&B.

#New Wave

A British genre of music which one might think is a subgenre of rock, or pop, or R&B, or some others, with a synthesizer type sound to it.

#Pop

a general term for music from the Billboard Hot 100 charts.

So, sometimes I might say that R&B stands for "radio & billboard" since lots of "R&B" tracks also fall into the Billboard Hot 100 category of radio tracks.

The "pop" genre may have started off as a subgenre of R&B.

#Dance Pop

dance music also in the pop genre.

#90s Eurodance

might also include music from the R&B charts of the 90s.

#EDM

electronic dance music, which genres like Eurodance and dance pop is part of.

#Techno

an electronic genre which is sometimes used interchangeably with "dance music".

#MISC SUBGENRE

R&B has so many different subgenres, so this flair was put here in case you might find a subgenre that isn't listed.

In conclusion.

the term "R&B" is sorta an umbrella term for many genres, which is why flairs have been created.
