A place for people to share advice, pictures, stories, and reviews of Campgrounds in the state of Ohio. There are many great Campgrounds from Lake Erie to the bank of the Ohio River in both natural areas like Hocking Hills to reclaimed mines at AEP/Jesse Owens State Park. This is a place to share experiences and ask questions about them.

Advice: place to take a Girl Scout troop (8&9 year olds) to camp that is not Girl Scout facility.

Hello- looking for a great place to tent camp. Hoping for somewhere with a nice hike, quite for tent camping and star gazing. Creeking would be cool too. We are out of Hilliard.

Thanks

Getting back at it!

So I just got back into camping after not having been since I was in highschool (20+ years ago) and have only been in Ohio for a few years and I'm trying to get my 2 kids into it as well. We went to Top O'the Caves in Hocking Hills a few weeks ago and despite it not being the greatest place, the kids had a blast. I would love to hear any suggestions for camping with kids.

Backpacking w/ kids

Where in Ohio do you take kids to backpack for 1-2 night? I have been doing a 2 mile trail at East Fork. Any other suggestions?

your new subreddit

I just wanted to point out that /r/CampOhio and /r/OhioHiking are already active with 6000 and 700 subscribers, respectively.

Is there something that makes this subreddit unique from the established alternatives? Have you reached out to the moderators of either of those subs to see if you can help develop an existing platform into something greater?

Welcome New Members

Welcome to r/OhioCampingAdventures. To start, what is your favorite place to camp in Ohio? Mine would be Lake Hope and Aep recreation land/Jesse Owens State park. If you haven’t camped in Ohio yet, where would you like to camp?
