Is there a company policy of hiring or retaining workers. That are on the registered sex offender list. The crime was a dateline nbc style sting where the guy was cheating with someone who he thought was underage and went to meet up for sex, but it was a predator set up instead. They were arrested on the spot and charged and convicted.
Would this person be eligible for continued employment at Office Depot.
What's the process with sending donations and buy backs?
I just got promoted to print manager. However I didn’t get the training I need to for that position. My epson printer is not printing right. I called the tree to put an order in but they said I have to put an order in the computer the lady I talk to had broken English so I was not understanding my GM doesn’t really know. Can someone give me step by step instructions. It’s the only large format printer we have.
I'm really getting tired of the genius decisions the company makes, one in particular being the drastic cuts to payroll. It's one thing to only have two people working at a time because we're understaffed. It's another thing when that's the case by design because it's the only way to stay under the cut. It's not ideal for working (long lines during peak hours), nor is it safe (especially for stores in higher crime areas). "Why is AOV down? What happened to conversion?" Customers are leaving because it's taking too long for them to be helped because the only two employees in the building are a new hire who is trying his/her/their best, but is still learning about the products, and an LOD who has a line full of customers because she's trying to run copy/print, the floor, furniture, and tech at the same time.
Furthermore, I'm also annoyed with the emails from our DM because he's pissed off because so many stores are over the new payroll cut. Like, your GMs aren't scheduling people to steal company time. Rather, the minimum payroll required to operate their stores properly exceeds the payroll limitation after the cuts. And I know the DMs aren't the ones who made the decision regarding payroll, and that their superiors are yelling at them over it too, but they certainly are the talking heads in place to enforce it.
These conditions are unacceptable, and quite frankly stupid. To echo a point someone made here years ago, if our main method of securing profit relies on making cuts rather than actually generating revenue, then Office Depot will not survive much longer. I'm pretty sure we all knew that though.
Also, Business Select and $34.99 paper will not save the company lmfaooo.
Any tips for adding bundles to laptop sales? What's the benefits of adding the protection plan? And tech services?
My manager says he’s gonna teach me how to operate in cpd and I seriously rather die then set foot in that hellhole I’m a cashier and I rather handle Sales floor, furniture and assembly and Omni orders All at once then work at cpd, could I get fired for not wanting to work in cpd? Cuz we have plenty of associates who does anyways, I just don’t see why I have to.
I’d love to block rude people’s email. I mean block it from hitting our email at all, it just goes to junk.
This will probably be a waste of time but wanted to share my thoughts. Having no payroll and running on 2 people a shift sucks. How would you feel being that customer coming in and no one to help you. You would leave and go somewhere else. Imagine going into a Starbucks or a small coffee shop and they have 6 people working one shift and you think to yourself wait that’s my whole staff for a 2000 square foot building it doesn’t make sense. And then now you ad on TSA to stores and give no payroll to do this how do you think this will work. It won’t. Oh wait don’t forget to sell the BS to everyone and if you don’t you will be put on a pip. Oh wait also make sure you sell the $34.99 case deal this will make the store tons of money but they can have 3 per order but then only one works so you have to override the other two but now those don’t show up on the tracking of how many you actually sold with the promotion so now you need to write your staff up for not selling the paper. Oh and don’t forget to get rewards and if your penetration is high but still not getting them you will also get written up. Please keep writing people up so we can collect unemployment.
How much more does print employees get paid then regular employees? Or supposed to. I was hired as sales floor then immediately was put to print department. 😂
Apparently, the store management wants me to "fill" all the requested units even if there's not enough space on the shelf (which is often the case), and then for the units that didn't actually fit on the shelf, I'm supposed to add them back into putaway. All so that the corporate personnel don't get mad that the percentage of units filled is "too low".
So we're essentially giving corporate fake numbers because they can't handle seeing the obvious truth (that the units requested are way too high given the available shelf space) reflected in a report.
At a functional company, corporate executives would want to know what's actually going on in the stores so they could do something about it (e.g., lower the fill number requested, give us more shelf space, lower prices so that more units sell?), but apparently everyone at every level of this company is in CYA mode 24/7, so all they care about is making "their numbers" look good, regardless of how it affects customers, employees, or the company's survival.
It's like everyone expects the company to fail, so all they care about is preserving their own jobs for the time being, which in the long run makes the company even more likely to fail. #depotdifference
As the weekend approaches, I find myself wondering—do you use your weekends to completely unwind after a long work week, or do you try to pack in as many activities and adventures as possible to make the most of your time off?
Haven't used it since it was first introduced, and I can't find it now
I'm in the sales manager position, and I noticed when I use my phone number it has Business Select attached. I have not signed up for it nor have I put any form of payment in for it.
Good evening everyone,
Did you see your ink prices go up today? Hard to believe that this isn't a direct response to the dismal quarterly earnings that came out yesterday. Expect more price matching to the website which seems to have stayed unchanged with the latest price increase.
Does anyone know how to de enroll in daily pay So I can use the internal pay system vs Daily Pay?
I need to split my paycheck into different bank accounts And daily pay messed all that up when I enrolled in it.
Who actually thought tsa was actually going to let use get away with by passing there protocols and bypassing the long wait for the 2808 approve for the piv badge by using the user id and password feature?
Hello my store received these crappy foamboards with little to no adhesive on the board. I tired using a low temp to active the glue did not work then I used a high temp like 275 and it melted the satin and gloss paper onto the rollers. The only way the new boards work is if you incase them in Laminate but I don't want to do that with every poster. Does anyone have a better solution? Thank you.
anyone else highly annoyed that they took away the free trial lol, also making it $50 in credit for cpd, it’s nice that it’s right away but who’s going to spend $100 on ink and toner and then want to add an additional $50 for something they may or may not use frequently
Ok- who can tell me how to get the old report of daily employee purchases like we used to get years ago in the print Q? And …Go…
Every red hat boomer is going to be smiling with joy when they walk and I’ll have to resist the urge to call them a fucking retard.
Should we start a union?
Hey everyone my gm mentioned something about a foldable cutter that he wants to order but is trying to get the product number. Does anyone know it? Also does anyone have pictures of theirs?
Here is the summary provided by the company this morning:
The stock is currently trading at $26.95, down over 13% today.
Man i just need to spill somethings off my chest I enjoy my job even if its a pain at times but no hate to the older generations but its a pain when i got orders on the queue that needs to be done by a certain time and i can’t finish them or barely get to finish it on time cause im constantly getting stop by older people not knowing how to use self serve or want me to print it out and do the work for them its just exhausting and its the only thing i sorta dislike i just needed to rant for a bit
What are we supposed to do with these? Throw them away? Wait until they go on clearance? Burn them? Use them for the store? 🤣
I live in South Texas the temperature gets in the 60's for 3 days during the winter sometimes a little lower. I have doubts on people actually buying these cause of how short our winter is. 😬
Anyone know if we getting the COLA adjustment pay?
Got $30 “instant” cards today, the rest went into the stupid gravity game where I played 33 times and got nothing.
I believe depot should close. Customers are very rude to me and my coworkers. “Customers are always right” no they are not. They want to put our job on the line for them “make an exception” corporate should work at least 2 weeks at a retail store and I guarantee they won’t make it.
There's a location near me with a position open with a short shift as overnight warehouse worker. I assume it's a lot of pushing pallets and unloading the inventory to restock shelves vs online order packing. I'm thinking of applying because I like the hours(I care for a family member that is has simple daytime needs). I don't have a wealth of experience. I get the feeling there's a retention/turn over issue with work force? Apologies if I'm misconstruing the vibe. There's a lot of horror stories and warnings in this sub which I appreciate but it's not swayed my interest. Misery loves company, I guess. Can anyone share some insight into how strenuous the workload might be and the hurdles to adapting to the system please? I infer that if I can handle generic computing I should be good. Also, with all the talk of the company dying I figure, who knows, maybe the pallets will be less monumental a task? By all means include any worse case scenarios if it helps you vent; good mental health includes safe space for complaints. I could also use those to see myself as a help and not a hinder to operations. Thanks in advance
i heard something from my manager that amazon today will be discontinued somewhere around nov 6. does anyone know if that is correct information ?? if so how impactful do we think getting rid of those online orders will be ?
maybe i misheard, 😣😣
