Is there a way to run SPC print orders thru GMIL? I have tried to find info but can't seem to find anything.
At my store, we're about to see who'll get promoted to Team Lead [myself included], and when I mentioned that one of the candidates gets signups in an unethical manner [the good 'ol "make them tell you no" bullshit], and therefore shouldn't be put into management, a good portion of my fellow associates came to his defense and tried to downplay me and what I bring to the role.
Like, are we all SERIOUS, right now?! Are we REALLY gonna sit and defend unethical bullshit like that?! Lost a bit of respect for them, honestly. Good riddance!
This year we will be focusing on rewardsmember pricing to help drive sales... Prints out three rewards member pricing...
Wtf is up with the people who come up to me, tell me they need a thousand things printed, and the closed sign is RIGHT IN THEIR FACE. Oh, and when I redirect them to the self-service they suddenly don’t know how to use a dummy proof machine and I end up having to basically do everything for them anyway. There’s a paper with the instructions on how to use the self-service right in front of their face.
Dose any of you lovely ppl have a picture of the new moleskine spinner set completely? If so can I see it this pog half ass makes sense.
Does anyone have the site where employees can do trainings for discounts/gift cards? I'm trying to buy a printer soon.
Is it through ADP still? I tried making an account but it didn't work. I need it for a legal document with my address on it.
Thanks much.
Is bs suppose to waive cpd express fees????
I just wanna know everyones CPD rantings for the week. It's been a hard one. The customers have been extra vicious lately. We take walk-ups at my store and it's horrible. Trying to deal with a line of customers, OPC orders and FedEx at the same time. We tried to move everyone to online orders only but they fought so hard my co workers gave up.
How did you guys set up your Crayola table displays? Most of the items on the sheet are delivery only, so its tough to get enough items to display. I'm tempted to just grab any Crayola item to fill the space.
Are Office Depot employees required to have a group message? Group me or the group messages? The GM says we need to respond but when we are off the clock enjoying our time with our families or having our personal time why?
Has anyone had a problem this month accessing their past Office Depot orders so they can write a product review? This happens on the website or the app.
Try to access past orders and when I click to see order details, I get the following error message: Sorry, we are experiencing technical difficulties, please try again shortly.
Has anyone experienced this or been able to write a product review? Thanks!
for military customers placing print orders we add a coupon in gmil that gets them 20% off. that coupon expired on january 25th. how are other people dealing with this issue?
Hey guys !! This started yesterday and my print supervisor put in a ticket, but I just want to know if there’s anything I can do other than that. Anyways the actual problem is anytime I try to download a file it won’t let me. I cannot access anything on my computer other than a flash drive. So my OneTimeJobs is unreachable, any of my repeat jobs, etc. I get a cute little pop up that says “If the Location is on a network, make sure you’re connected to the network or Internet, and then try again. If the location still can’t be found it might have been moved or deleted.”
I’m hoping this isn’t their way of saying we’re getting shut down lmao.
This is my karma for wanting to print a customers sourdough starter and sourdough recipe :( RIP my sourdough dreams.
Anyways if any of you have any ideas or anything that would be fantastic, as moving a flash drive between computers is making me crazy.
When customers come in needing smaller sizes, in GMIL do you make the charge under “copies” (to charge for the specialty papers, cutting, etc.), or do you make it under invitations? When orders come in online, they usually come in under invitations, but because I have to print it on 8.5x11 and cut it, I just feel a little..cheated? 😅 Why don’t we have 5x7 paper? 😩
Anyone else having issues with ring central setting up properly on the new movies? We got 3 in and got them all set up but only 1 works with ring central. The others say extensions not found or something like that. Rest of the mobie works just not the phone part.
We just recently started Pre-check at my store, kinda late to the party (a whole other issue). What problems besides staffing or payroll have you all been facing also?
Any word on the TSA / Homeland Security / Telos upset about Depot stores trying to get Pre-check appointment timeframes reduced? The audacity...to be upset that we actually give a crap about ourselves and would actually rather not be spread so thin and run into the ground on a daily basis. How about that? 🤔
Hell(O) everyone, your print queen is here with a complaint! Why the fuck can't we see biz select discounts in price menus on the mobiles!? Or any discount at fucking all!
I signed up a customer and couldn't get the 10% on his desk, and we can't override prices in gmil because fuck me am I right? And I didn't know the desk was already on sale! So great!
It is really the depot difference! (we're scamming our customers)
I hate this hellhole, college cannot come soon enough.
On mobile
Locked the door at 6:55pm like we always do and left the exit doors unlocked cause we still had customers in the store. This guy pried the first exit door open and wasn’t able to get the second, he’s banging on the window and scaring my customers. I go to tell him we’re closed and he’s aggressive and already recording me. He starts yelling about suing and getting more aggressive when I’m not taking his bait. He eventually leaves but I was about to call the cops. Like sir our hours are clearly listed. Not my fault you can’t plan ahead.
Update: since everyone is telling me I’m going to be fired for closing “early” camera clock says 6:58pm and every manager in the building closes at the same time. They will have to fire the whole management team
I've never done one before and bc of call offs I'm the only one in print and the customer paid rush fee to have it done by tonight. The manager on duty doesn't know how to do it either. Can anyone explain how to do it? (Size is 18x24, paper is standard 24pt matte if that helps)
What happens if one of our customers buys $150 worth of merch just to get the $25 discount on the case of printer paper, and then immediately returns the $150 worth of merch? Will the $25 be deducted from their refund? And yes, some of my customers are that difficult.
At my store we have 2 associates that are dating, and one of them is about to be promoted to a supervisor/external key carrier role. I can't remember if that's allowed or what is going to need to happen. A lil help please? Thanks.
How can we run spc through the opc? I have a customer trying to place an obit order and is resistant on using it but it tells us it's exceeded the amount even after lowering the cost of the job.
I know we all have issues and need a place to vent which is where this comes in handy, but some of y'all really complain about LITERALLY EVERYTHING. Like, if you have no positives about working here, then why are you still here? Half the issues that I see complaints about are issues you'll find anywhere in retail.
I am a tech and every time I sell a computer bundle I have to install office and activate it for them. I then have to wait 2 days for them to install and activate mcafee after I have called them 5 times and keep being told,”we will have someone on it in 15 minutes if not call back.” Just give me the mcafee product key and liquidate Bit storm please. There is no need for them and they are lazy af, I started refusing to be “called back”(never happened once btw) or wait 15 minutes. I stay on the line with them and talk until I see a tech connected. Also stop printing sales tags on sheets for us to break out. Print them on something like a receipt printer it takes nearly 4 hours to break out all the tags for tech, and 4 hours for supplies. Thats over $300,000 in labor you’re wasting by not investing in a different method of printing. Also quit doing the sales tag bullshit period. Customers are not stupid anymore and they see our prices are 30% higher than anywhere else and our sale prices are just the actual price. It’s a complete waste of money on an outdated predatory marketing strategy. I make sales through honesty and by far outperform anyone else in my store. (My store/management is great btw). I feel bad reading some of your horror stories. My managers always have my back with customers, and I think our tech and print departments are a little more qualified than most in the company. 60% of our customers are regulars we know well, and its the 40% of new comers that cause trouble. Except for the local whiners who come in just to complain about prices and Microsoft’s latest windows update… Also self serve should cost an extra 5$ if you need assistance after i’ve shown you how to print your stuff 5 times this week.
Like the tech bundle.
