I can not sign into my account because two-step authentication is on and I no longer have access to the phone number that was originally on my account. I have submitted an account recovery form everyday for the past 4 months and they are all denied, even though all the information is correct. I can not cancel my account because that requires me to sign into. I can not turn off two-step authentication because that requires me to sign in. I can not delete my account because that requires me to sign in. My account is blocked and there is no way to recover it, yet Microsoft still has the audacity to bill me $80 every month.
Just as my title says my OneDrive has stopped syncing to OneDrive. I've never had a problem before. Yesterday it was working fine. Today I see it has stopped syncing. I first noticed it in 'Sticky Notes' which I use a lot. There is a triangle with a "bang" character on the inside. It says: "We couldn't verify your sign-in info. Your account doesn't have a mailbox, so we can't save your notes in the cloud." There is a button showing that says "Sign in" but when I try to click it nothing happens. I normally use the new Outlook and it seems to be getting all my emails fine. I decided to see if the classic Outlook would download my emails and it did. I'm puzzled as to what the problem could be. Anyone know?
It says loading and it has been saying that for 20 minutes. I have been trying to sign in with a phone number I don’t have anymore and I’m stuck. Anyone help??
I turned off connected experiences after finding out that this opt-out setting was Microsoft's way to use my content in Office for possible AI training. I hate all the tracking and using my information, especially if I pay for a produce and don't recieve anything in return for my data. I mostly want this to be exposed, but it is annoying. Autosave is a feature that has been so convenient to my ever since it came out, and now I am being strongarmed to accepting my data being used.
Has anyone found a work around to make autosave work again without having your information be sent out?
Any recommendations besides user training for users being compromised with MFA MS Authenticator number matching. Have had several instances with users having session token intercepted AiTM giving adversary full access to user O365 account.
I'm wanting to write out custom books for our parents for Christmas. I'm trying to write it in book mode but when I click on Layout, it has NO dropdown option to select Multiple pages > Book Fold. Everything I have tried to look up on the matter doesn't have the same ribbon dropdown options as mine shows, I have been through all of the tabs on word and it shows no custom option. Please help!
On my personal Macbook Pro I am logged into my Microsoft 365 Family subscription with my personal creds. Also on my personal Macbook Pro, I am logged into Teams using my work creds. My issue is, if I open Excel, I see all my work and personal files in Recent. Work files that I never opened on my Mac are showing up in the Recent area. In other works, all the files I opened at work, on my work laptop are showing as if I opened them recently on my personal Mac. I don't want to see any work files in my Microsoft Family subscription. :-).
We are a small company with O365 licenses to everybody and using teams and Sharepoint for work We are going to sign a new contract in which most of the staff will be shifted to their O365 environment with almost no access to our network including emails at normal work hours. We are looking for an alt app equivalent to Teams to get connected, with channels or equivalent etc. I know slack as an option is there any other alternatives.
I have added a teams folder as a shortcut to one drive. For some reason, a file there is not syncing but is syncing when accessed directly in Teams. Other people can also edit the same file in Teams and if they also added the same team as a shortcut to their One Drive.
I have done the troubleshooting steps I could find from the MS Support website and from here.
What am I missing?
Hi all.
Looking for some advice on a recent GoDaddy to Office365 migration I have recently worked on.
The actual migration seemed to go ok with minimal down time for the users.
The major problem has been signing users back in to their outlook / 365 apps on desktop and mobile. They are getting an error saying the account needs to be added as an external user among some other errors.
I was wondering if anyone else has come across this issue and if you have any suggestions to solve this.
Accessing outlook on the browser is absolutely fine just the apps will not log in. Tried the usual clearing cache and re installing office but non have worked.
Seems like the apps are still pointing back to GoDaddy but all DNS records are up to date and pointing to where they should.
Any help would be appreciated on this.
Hi
Does anyone know how I can target Teams meetings Q&A data in a Purview retention policy. I've tried pretty much everything, static scope, adaptive scope, management groups etc etc.
Oddly Q&A is a function of Yammer and therefore Viva Engage still lingering around. The target I believe is Yammer user messages, but does the Viva engage portion of the licence need to be enabled for the retention policy to fire on Yammer user messages.
Cheers!
Too often prospects tell me they can't book a meeting in our public bookings calendar, as they are greeted with a 401 error message.
Over the time I found out, that those are also microsoft 365 clients and they could book just fine, when they use an anonymous browser.
We allow to book as guest, but also when signed into Microsoft. This works fine with some logged in users (in their Tennant, not ours), but not with others.
I wonder, thy bookings doesn't default to "guest" then. This current behaviour - for a digital agency - is not acceptable of course. But there is nothing much I can do on our side?
Does someone found a solution to this behaviour? The way Microsoft Support works doesn't help much - I would need to convince any of my prospects to spend time to run network logs etc (which is even more embarrassing 😝).
Hi,
I am looking for a non Abo version of MS Office to use on my Mac.
When I look in the microsoft page, I find only office 2024 home for that.
When I Google office 2024 Mac, I get a lot of offers for "Microsoft 2024 standard". But I can not find any mention of a "standard" version on Microsoft home page.
What is this? Does a standard version of office exist? Is it legit?
Thank you!
I am currently figuring out, how to organize myself using the task management provided by the 365 apps.
Everything is there that I need (Flagged E-Mails, OneNote). But I have the feeling, that there is no overall concept in the Office apps regarding task management and it feels more like that Microsoft bought different software pieces, but never alignment them with a good working concept behind (Teams vs Outlook vs ToDo). For the example, there is not good working integration to OneNote. What I see:
To Do:
Outlook (ToDo)
Planner from Teams
Am I missing something? How do you do the task management in Office365?
Good morning,
All good? I work in a company where we have to carry out the activities of creating a liability agreement for the use of all equipment belonging to the company that is used by employees.
And I was thinking that maybe integrating some tools available in the office365 environment to help me create a considerable amount of terms to be created.
I currently have the Office Standart license linked to my user, I was thinking about doing it from an Excel spreadsheet or the form. Does anyone have any suggestions on what I should do or what tools I would need to look for and learn in order to meet my objective (I have a long deadline, so I think it's worth being able to look for and learn more efficient solutions than doing repetitive processes .).
I am a small business owner, my work is pretty much all 7 days and even on holidays. I have been logged out of my Microsoft 365 account. I try to log in via browser gives me a code, i go to authenticator app it give me a code - im stuck in the loop.
I dont understand how doe MS create such a pathetic experience. Their customer care has created a case but has not assigned anyone - Its the worst thing if you are run a single person business - i dont have any access now.
As an admin i have my other email and number assigned why cant they do an OTP or passkey.
Im totally fed up
I have one user who cannot get to the copilot webpage it tries for a bit then says she is blocked. Copilot is turned on for everybody in my org and it works for me . I'm wondering if people are still being impacted by the outage on Monday.
I've tried the following
2 . Enabled 3rd party cookies 3 cleared browser cache 4. Tried in remote desktop 5 . Tried on campus and off campus
I want to try a different computer but it is not available at the moment. I'm hoping the user didn't do something weird where they setup a personal account using their work email address.
Any thoughts? Thanks !
So the user has planned and also done the recording of the whole meeting. Everyone expect this user can open the recording via the shared link, it just states "Access Denied - Contact Administrator". I checked the the recordings folder on the sharepoint/od site of the user and it is set on read/write. Any ideas?
Hey all,
I have this weird issue with Onedrive. Say I have a folder "Marketing" and in that folder there's folder "X".
I am trying to share folder X and it gives me this error.
But, when I try to share the entire top level folder "Marketing", it shares just fine and I don't get any errors.
Anyone ever experience this? Any ideas what the issue can be?
Many years ago I added the OneDrive folder for a past project to my computer. And I've now spent 2 years trying to work out how to safely delete! The last thing I want is to delete anything the business still has in use.
I have my personal Onedrive - no issues.
Within File Explorer I also see this past Onedrive account (as a folder icon not as the OneDrive icon). I think I have unlinked it - but I don't know how to tell for sure and I'm a little too scared to delete it without knowing for sure I have done the right steps.
All their content has the grey X on it which I think means that it is not synced. And from the 'date modified' column there has been no change to their content in 2 years so I am pretty sure it has been disconnected. The OneDrive sync icon for that account no longer shows up in my notifications bar either.
Despite trying many times to work it out I am still having issues. Anything I save to user/documents/zoom is going to that Onedrive folder. I've tried to update my default settings but for whatever reason the old OneDrive/documents folder is being picked up in my library I guess. I really just need the folder off my computer once and for all!
How can I be sure that I am definitely disconnected and I won't cause harm by deleting the folder?
And is that all I need to do now? Just hit delete?
Thanks!
Just posting this here in case it can help someone else.
I just received an email to say my monthly subscription is going to increase from $12 to $17.
Logged on to cancel my subscription and noticed that I can downgrade to Microsoft 365 Classic (without AI) - this is $12.
This is technically what I was already on! I never signed up for 365 with AI..
Seems they tried to force an upsell on me without my permission. Rather scummy.
So, I've recently moved into a new position at work, and a lot of my tasks involve use of the Office 365 Teams environment. The hangup is that they are all using Windows 10 laptops - and I've been an Apple user almost exclusively for last 20+ years. I have an old 2012 Macbook that I may be able to resuscitate, but I realize the desktop versions are not compatible as I'm not able to install OSX Monterey. How would the web version work? Would I still have access to the Teams chat? I think functionality of Word and Excel would be sufficient, but the chat/fileshare/collab would be pretty important... I know I'm likely overcomplicating things a bit but I absolutely LOATHE working in Windows, and if this worked it would be be a (cheap) breath of fresh air for me!
I created a spreadsheet on Excel through the Microsoft 365 app. The app closed without me manually saving the sheet and I’m trying to find out how I access drafts. I do not have the excel app, I only used it through the Microsoft 365 app. I know that drafts are saving because when I repeat the process, each new sheet I create is named Book(3), Book (4) etc. Please help me
I have a 365 personal subscription and had some issues with Microsoft 365 so I ran the uninstaller and tried to install it again. All of the apps like word and excel installed no problem but the 365 app itself wouldn't and can't find an answer anywhere online.
Any help is appreciated.
Anyone know what the above client info string references? I know it’s outlook web app but not sure on the proxy bit. I’m seeing access from IP addresses not associated to a proxy/server/VPN
