I know it’s a little old for this subreddit, but it’s such a good song.
I would love to know if anyone can identify the song or artist in the first track. I think it’s great and haven’t been able to find it by any methods I know. Your help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi all, I've been compiling a list of some of my favorite rare country-psych cuts on RateYourMusic. Check it out & gimme any recommendations (here or there) to listen to and add!

Don’t usually like anything past 1975, but this is real good.
As an Australian, I'd like to mention Floodlights, particularly their song Nullarbor released in 2019. I wouldn't classify them as Country Rock, but as a Rock band that is Country adjacent.
From the states, I've really been enjoying Fran. Her song 'Winter' is quite honestly one of the best songs I've ever heard, it from 3:17 onward is incredible (timestamp to song). The entire album is really a piece of art. The transition from 'How Did We' to 'How Did I' really settles in deep.
Andy Aylward is also a long time favourite of mine. His debut EP 'AA' is something pretty special. His song 'Today' being one of favourites off the EP.
Dark Tea was one of my first encounters with obscure modern country rock, his second self-titled album 'Dark Tea' (2019) has some of the best country/folk inspired songs of the last decade.
'I Like Myself Again' by Nydia Gonzalez is another hidden gem.
Honorable mentions to some bigger bands/artists: Rosali, Sylvie, Marina Allen, A. Savage, Cut Worms, Anna St. Louis, Spencer Cullum, Color Green, Tobacco City, Tex Crick, Dick Stusso, Tim Hill, Ora Cogan...
What are yours?
Some good 'ol Australian country rock for yah ears!
