Has anyone here went to Olde Oakvilla Dental for a MSE?
I don't even know if what I'm asking exists but I'm looking for ATMs that let you use your phone in lieu of a card

Hello!
Moving some items into storage. Unfortunately my king size mattress (rolled and strapped) and bookshelf are too big to fit into my car.
Looking for cheap single item movers in the area? Any recommendations would be great.
Considered renting a U-Haul/pick up truck but have never driven a vehicle bigger than Mini Cooper. Didn't want to risk it if possible.
TIA!
Does anyone here use IPTV. I'm looking to get rid of cable and switch to an IPTV firestick. Any info would be greatly appreciated.
Got a radon test kit (two). They come with instructions on where to place, but wanted to check with others who have done the test. where you put them, and is it a bad idea to put it near the sump pump in basement? We have a pantry of packaged goods/drinks in the small unfinished closet of the basement that has sump pump. Any advice would be appreciated!
Having moved back from living downtown, I would love to meet women my age who I can connect with over coffee, walks, Pilates, painting or books. I would love to have more supportive women as part of my social circle, who can guide and inspire one another!
Looking for a physiotherapist that will do massage! Anyone have recommendations
What’s the take on tipping, I generally tip 18% sometimes 20% if the service is good. I know servers have to tip out a percentage to the back of house sometimes as much as 10% of the total bill. So if you don’t tip then this means the server is out of pocket for your meal. Just wondered about other peoples habits also do you tip in takeout places or coffee shops like Starbucks or Tim’s.
Hey Oakville!
I’d love to hear your honest feedback - what frustrates you most about house cleaning services here?
I’m asking because I’ve just opened a cleaning business in Oakville (Admins, no worries - I won’t promote the name) and I just want genuine input so I can avoid the same pitfalls and make sure we offer the best service possible.
Thanks for sharing any thoughts!
P.S. Just a heads-up: This is purely for feedback purposes. No need to reach out to me for cleaning services, as I’m not promoting my business here!
It seems like every time I log onto local Oakville groups, it's all sunshine and rainbows. Don't get me wrong, I love our town, but are we really that perfect?
Lately, I've been wondering if this relentless positivity is actually a form of gaslighting. Are we being subtly pressured to ignore the cracks in our community's facade just to maintain a certain image?
Case in point: my recent post about the Halton police incident (you know the one, with the video of the officer...). It was pulled by the moderators, supposedly for a minor technicality. But it makes you wonder, are they more concerned with optics than with addressing potential problems within our own police force?
We can't grow as a community if we're constantly sweeping issues under the rug. We need to be able to have open and honest conversations, even when they're uncomfortable. Whether it's police conduct, infrastructure problems, or social issues, pretending everything is perfect doesn't make it so.
What do you think? Am I overreacting, or is there a real effort to silence less-than-positive discussions about Oakville?
Any local pubs host trivia nights?
As title says, I am looking for a track in Oakville with sufficient lighting. The one I currently go to is IRHS track but it is pitch black..
I know an executive at Cineplex and they told me last week that they had "heard rumblings" that "things aren't looking to good" for Mr. Knoll's cinema enterprise. Has anyone heard any such thing? I know in-cinema movie-going is in decline everywhere, and obviously small independents are hurting the worst, but all outward indications make it seems like they are trucking along as always. I certainly hope so.
As the title says, this Friday I'll be interviewing the mayor in city hall as a Sheridan student. I'll make a follow up post to show Mr. Burton answering some of your questions! It could be about anything. Ranging from why a specific street has too much damn traffic or something else entirely. It's up to you! Leave your burning questions below! Thanks (not sure what flair this should go under lol)
I think it'd be a nice gesture if Oakville reached out to Trump or his people to invite him to visit Oakville as part of his official state visit to Canada.
I think he would enjoy a tour of the Harbour, check out the beta fish at PetsMart at Oakville Place and maybe even grab a NY Fries? Any other things to do???
Likely better this comes as an official invite from the Mayor/Council. But thought reddit might have good ideas for his tour.
Thinking this type of soft diplomacy might be effective so we don't get hit too hard with tariffs....
Traveling in to the area from NY and couldn’t find answers earlier while searching- where can I buy a small custom birthday cake for a serving of 4-6? It doesn’t need to be anything fancy and I want less than 40 characters written. My at home go to would be order from Walmart or Whole Foods or similar. Thanks!
Looking for a real tree to buy. We've always gotten ours from the Canadian Tire on Kerr St but wondering if there was somewhere better. Does Terra Green House have good ones?
Huge hornets nest in Valleybrook park. Got stung a couple times while walking by. Please be careful.
Hello again, I am Marc Grant, the Ward 5 Councillor for the Town of Oakville.
Two weeks ago, as the Budget Chair, I asked for thoughts on the Oakville Budget. I got a ton of questions and the team at Town Hall provided answers. The process continues...
I am very interested in making this process one where we reach out to people who may not often find themselves interested - and you should be. Municipal policy and politics are matters that hit you at home, even though the day to day operations may not seem to be the things that grab headlines.
So, once again, I'm reaching out for input. The Town's Budget page is at https://www.oakville.ca/town-hall/budget-finances/annual-budget/budget-documents/ (don't miss a sidebar on that page for rates and fees)
You can choose to read the highlights, or do a deep dive into our forecasts. Any way you want to approach it, you owe it to yourself to understand how the Town spends money and why.
On Reddit, there are no dumb questions, and you can stay behind your anonymity, which is why I like this forum. However, if you want to make yourself and your opinions known in public, we will have meetings you can attend or Zoom into - simulcast on YouTube - on Tuesday, November 12, starting at 9:30 AM and on Thursday, November 14 starting at 6:30 PM. you can find ways to delegate here - https://www.oakville.ca/town-hall/mayor-council-administration/agendas-meetings/delegations-presentations/
So. again, have at it. I'll answer questions here as fast as I can, and will carry all questions and comments to our professional staff, and to the Members of Council as we discuss the upcoming budget.
Hi guys, My fridge (freezer part) keeps making noise. Is it fixable? Do you happen to know any mechanics in Oakville can come in and fix it? And how much it would cost?
Also nothing against the fan cover. But the noise keeps going on. I cannot identify the issue. Need a mechanic to fix.
Thanks.
So many police card and sirens as of lately. Ive lived in oakville for a couple of years now but havent seen that many consistently before
One of my go-to’s after a workout has been Pita Lite because they have a chicken on rice special that comes with potatos, and is only $9. Its enough to leave me with leftovers too.
Does anyone know of any other food spots with solid deals like this?
As the title goes, are there any recommendations for reliable and affordable movers in Oakville? I'm just a single person, I only have limited stuff but I need help with my furniture like couch(very heavy) and my bed.
