I could potentially work there, & I'm here to get yalls advice, opinions, all the info! Positive, negative, wage, shifts, what is the daily routine?
Hello! Does anyone have any suggestions for paved walking trails around Oak Ridge? My dog is very old and we used to go on walks every day. He was recently diagnosed with heart failure and can no longer walk so I bought him a dog stroller! We usually went to the Civic Center or the Greenway but both are gravel. I want him to have a smooth ride in his old age! Any suggestions are appreciated!!
Me & my wife are immigrants (legal) and we moved to the Knoxville area. I’m looking for someone to accompany me as the licensed driver for my dmv road test in Oak Ridge. I have a rental car and I only need a 21+ driver to accompany me. Please dm if you’re willing to help out!
I was returning home last night about 11:30 PM and came to the Illinois and Turnpike intersection. There were no road work signs or directions, and when I got close I discovered that all lanes were closed for the repaving work. You couldn't turn left or go straight, and the right turning lanes was the only way to keep going absent a u-turn (no signs or police directing traffic). I turned right towards the high school, and realized they had the entire intersection closed, so assumed I'd have to do my own roundabout. I drove up 50 feet, and did a slow u-turn from the median turning lane before the first red light past Kroger. There was not a car in sight. Once I did, a police officer came running and waving at me, I rolled down my window and before I said a word he yelled "what are you doing, you can't f------ do that, is that how you drive all the time?" First dude, way to be the aggressor off the bat. Second, maybe realize you've got probably the largest intersection in Oak Ridge completely shut down with no signs, and you're too lazy to be out of your car to direct traffic where to go. Third, there's not a "no u-turn" sign, and I believe it's legal to do so from a turning lane. And fourth, maybe realize the amount of traffic and level of caution I observed before cussing me for just trying to get home in a confusing situation. The guy looked like he was maybe 25, so hopefully he calms down and can be a more respectful officer in the future.
Y’all, the parking lot was already full at the Oak Ridge voting location by Kroger when it opened at 10 am. Is it always like this? Been standing in line for 30 minutes.
I collect bones but I don't hunt or kill any animals. I'm not really sure where to look for hunter dumps or bone piles.

Hey everyone!
I’m new to the world of fine-tuning and training LLMs, and I’m hoping for some in-person guidance. I’ve got Ollama 3.2:1B installed on my desktop, but as a beginner, I’m not sure how to fine-tune it for my needs.
If anyone in the Oak Ridge area (or nearby) has experience and is willing to help me out in person, I’d be really grateful! I’m happy to show my appreciation by offering a modest fee or even some pizza for your time.
Thanks so much for considering!
I’m helping my 82 yr old aunt apply for housing in Roane County. She is retired from K-25 and draws a small pension. I have to show where all of her income is from and need to get a statement of some kind from the pension administrator. What makes this tricky is my aunt is currently in an assisted living and the pension admin was never apprised of her updated address from years gone by - she gets nothing in the mail and I can’t find anything in her records. I am her POA, she is widowed with no children so I’m literally it.
Can someone tell me who the administrator of K-25 pensions is?? TIA.
That's right, some stupid cunt took it right off the back porch. My grandpa gave him this bike, and its got a very unique build do it should be easy to spot. Us and our buddies had plans to go biking this weekend, and when he went to check on the tires it was gone.
It was stolen approximately a day ago at most, and from around townplace apartments/Grove market area just for a general place to look.
If you spot it being sold or out and about, please let me know via DMs! Any help is greatly appreciated, and there could be a money reward!
Not my kitty. I found this by my house today and just want to help get some exposure.
Also they wwre doing it again as late as 2008... https://www.oakridger.com/story/news/local/2008/06/19/lightning-bugs-needed-again/63352828007/
Great vendors and delicious food!
Hiya peeps!
Does anyone know if the "Not Selected" text means that my application was not selected for further interviews?
Just a note that the Vivint/SmartHomePros guys are out.
Didn't appreciate him ambushing me in my driveway after dark.
This sounds like something a pimp would say! 6th District Anderson County Commissioner Mack Daddy - Anthony “Ant” Allen
Dear Oak Ridgers and the greater Anderson County populace. County Commissioners should vote for things that their constituents want, NOT push their views down their throats. Please read this crazy, almost Dr. Seuss-ish drivel. Then decide if this man sounds stable enough to represent you in your county! Remember - You aren’t smart enough to make your own decisions, let Anthony Allen - 6th District EMBARRASSMENT make them for you!
I may have an opportunity at Y12 and wanted to see what people think about working there (how's the culture, does it take forever to get in/out of the lot/buildings, etc). Can anyone compare the work culture to ORNL?
Does anyone know anything about UCOR, specifically laborer jobs? It seems there are never any openings. How hard it is to get on at UCOR?
Has anyone ever had a Oak Ridge Tow Company move your vehicle because they needed more room to access a vehicle parked right beside you or because they were not at the right angle to retrieve the car that they were intending to tow? I am curious because when I was coming out to my car yesterday morning, it was no longer forward facing it was backed in. It is also crooked in the parking space, also the drivers door was unlocked and I noticed that there was a plastic small piece next to the gearshift that had been popped off and it looked like someone had access or put a tool in the spot which I know is called a shift lock, allowing the car to be put in neutral.there’s way more to this story but I don’t wanna make it longer. I’m wondering if anyone has ever had anything like that happen with a tow company especially Oak Ridge tow Company
I run a bar/brewery trivia company in the Knoxville are. I'm looking for high-energy people to host games for us, specifically around Oak Ridge! We are adding more new bars now and are needing new hosts.
I provide everything for you. All you need to do is host for an hour and a half. It's a fun side hustle and you usually get free food/beer. Pay is $50 per game. You can commit to as little as one night per week, or more if you'd like! I’ll work to make it fit your schedule.
If you'd like more information on the job or to apply, check out my website!
I was scrolling through mountain dews twitter and saw that you guys had the cooler drop right here and I couldn’t get it in time but you can still get the cooler if you save up enough points which are only obtainable from 12 and 24 packs and since I’m not that heavy of a mtn dew drinker I was wondering if you could pm the code inside the boxes on any leftover boxes you had if you have no intention of using them , Thanks
anyone know when quiet hours are? like what time are noise ordinances in place?
