Week of omad

NOT THE MOST NUTRITIOUS

...but it sure was yummy, and I made it! My first week back into omad. Most recent meal is the bottom left - ravioli with mozzarella, sauce, onion+pepper+beans. Let's see if I make it to tmw at 4pm with that one 🤷‍♀️🤦‍♀️

Is it safe to eat a few candies during the day?

I am prone to migraines and low sugar is one of the causes so is it ok to maybe eat 4 candies throughout the day to prevent this?

My Journey With Keto OMAD

229lbs vs 169lbs. I did mainly keto OMAD. Why? Because fat burning continues to when fast is broken. Fasting puts you into autophagy and ketosis …. Breaking the fast and staying into ketosis continues the fat burning. Keto OMAD for a solid 6-8 months can do wonders. Taking breaks is necessary. I’d recommend keto Omad for anyone who really struggles with controlling their hunger. It helped me so much on my journey!

Ladies Omad group!

Hi Everyone! I am F34, 200-ish pounds, and want to get to about 160. I desperately need accountability, so message me if you want in the group! We can hold each other accountable and make this happen!! :)

Also, I realize we are about to embark on the holidays. Going OMAD is my way of NOT becoming fatter than I already am, lol. The reason I made this ladies only because I wish to discuss hormones, cycles, and other female related things. I'm sure men don't want to hear about these things, lol! Message me!!! :)

Meal - deli chicken and American cheese on baguette, Arby's curly fries, chipotle style salad, ketchup and guacamole not pictured.

TIA!!

Yesterday's Meal

Actually I never cooked much before. But recently started OMAD. I find lunch time is pretty effective.

Beneath all the veg are a few strips of belly pork cooked in an air fryer. Also have a couple of poached eggs and some mixed veg lightly cooked in some olive oil. I try to get a variety so it includes tomato, onion, spring onion, red onion, garlic, pepper, peanuts, aubergine, okra, mustard, pepper, chilli flakes. I may have a bowl of fruit an hour or two later

OMAD beginner

I’m new to the OMAD diet. I’m just wondering is this diet good enough to maintain muscle and 2 does it count as OMAD if I eat a few almonds or fruit before my feeding period.

OMAD vs 2MAD

Need your opinion on something about OMAD. Normally I would eat a couple of meals a day. Lunch and dinner. If I combine those into OMAD, same food same calories, is the weight loss going to be the same? Any advantage to doing it OMAD as opposed to 2MAD? Just better fasting benefits but same weight loss with OMAD?

Thoughts on carnivore diet?

This was my meal of the day. I’m trying out the carnivore diet (along with omad) for only 30 days. I know it’s not a healthy long term diet what so ever. But I constantly see people loosing a ton of weight very quickly on this diet. I did a very clean omad diet (while still listening to my body and it’s wants whether being a cookie or something not so healthy )for about 2 1/2 months starting in July and lost over 20 lbs. I’m 5’11 23F. My starting weight on omad was 157lbs and I got down to 131 within 2 months. (I’d like to be 122-125) but, since September, the last two months I got into a bad depression and did not follow any diet and started to binge and began to eat anything and everything every day until I felt sick. I’m now up to 140 which isn’t bad I know especially being as tall as I am. But I’d like to get back to 130 asap or even a bit lighter. I’m on day 3 of the carnivore diet and the bloating is definitely starting to go down. I dont really want to hop on the scale until day 7. Has anyone tried the carnivore diet and have success? Any tips? Don’t be to harsh in the comments I am fully aware that this is not considered the healthiest diet especially long term. But I’m going to give it a go for 30 days to see if I can drop pounds quickly like I’ve been seeing on the internet.

Omad vs 20:4, calories being equal, how different would the results be?

I'm somewhat experienced with IF. I just happened to gain a lot of weight since I bounced out of my IF lifestyle. Now I wish to lose all that weight (roughly 40 pounds). I thought of starting with 20:4 since it's more flexible but I want quicker results so I'm more eager for OMAD if it would yield better results than 20:4 in the same time period assuming that calories would be kept the same. Please share your experiences as to how different would the results be in both cases? And is squeezing your eating window to one hour really worth the results? P.S. I am equally open to doing both but I want to do that which would yield the maximum results in the least time.

Why don’t I see the difference

Hey, so I’ve been doing the Omad diet since late august so about 2 months now and have lost 14kg (30 pounds for you Americans.) I know for sure I have lost weight as I had to cut more holes in my belt and my work shirt is more baggy now, but when I look at myself I don’t see it at all and when I turn sideways and look in the mirror my belly don’t seem much smaller to me but work colleagues have been telling me there is a difference but I really can’t see it so I’m wondering is this some kind of self hate or doubt kind of thing or is this normal?

Essential Omega 6 fatty acids and how they make fasting harder.

I've recently been on a health kick with massively reducing Omega 6 from my diet. Sadly that means no more McDonalds, KFC or any other sweet, sweet burgers, as even the bread is loaded with seed oils. But what I discovered from doing this, with a lot of research thrown in, was strange and very interesting.

Long story short. Omega 6 fatty acids, eaten over and above the bodies needs, causes a dangerous increase in intracellular calcium, among other things. This increase in calcium comes at the expense of the bodies electrolyte balance. Following along with this chain reaction, when the calcium in the bodies water gets too low (because of the excess Omega 6) then brain function is affected, which means doing your job at work properly becomes very difficult, (in a kind of similar way to how being drunk makes doing your job properly very difficult). This all combines to make intermittent fasting very unpleasant on a high Omega 6 diet.

The catch with all this is that you body wont start trying rid itself of the excess Omega 6 until your last meal has been completely digested and all the available energy from that meal has been burned up, which only happens when you enter your fasting state. In other words, you wont feel bad (from the excess Omega 6) until you feel hungry, and you can only stop your massive drop in calcium levels by eating as soon as your last meal is used up (and never feeling hungry). This means if you have a high Omega 6 diet, it's very difficult to lose weight and excel at your job at the same time. (Where as if you have a healthy Omega 6 balance in your diet it's very easy to lose weight and perform at a high level.)

The question I have is how many grams of Omega 6 a day is the correct amount? I'm reading some saying 5-10% of daily calories should come from Omega 6 fat???? About 20 grams a day max. The problem I have with this is that Omega 6 fats aren't an energy source for the body. We burn Glycogen (glucose) and Triglycerides (saturated fat) for energy. Here's some pictures so you can get what I mean.

Here's Glycogen, which is loads of Glucose molecules joined together.

.

Here's a Triglyceride molecule (more commonly known as saturated fat.

.

And lastly, here's the two essential Omega fatty acids.

You'll notice they all contain the same three elements. Oxygen, Hydrogen and Carbon. When they are burned in our cells the Carbon and Oxygen combines to create energy in the cell, and oxygen also combines with the left over Hydrogen, which makes H20 and C02 as byproducts of the energy creation process.................... etc,,,,

Triglycerides are the bodies preferred source of fuel, as they are the most dense form of carbon, containing much more carbon than glycogen for the amount of space in the body they occupy. This is why our bodies store large amounts of saturated fat, but only keep enough glycogen for daily needs. All excess glycogen is converted into triglyceride form for overnight storage (which is why excess sugar contributes to weight gain).

Omega 6 fats (bent chain fats) aren't burned by the body, because there's no receptor in the cell for them to plug into (because they are bent). They have to be converted into straight chain saturated fat before they become a burnable source of calories. As the natural world doesn't produce Omega 6 in any form humans could possible over consume, over the last 100 million years our bodies didn't evolve with any comfortable way to convert massive amounts of omega 6 into usable fuel. Instead our bodies store the excess around our organs, as deadly Visceral Fat. It does this to stop the excess inflammation from excess omega 6 in the blood giving us even more deadly cancer, among other things.

Then, when you start fasting your body has a worst first approach to burning stored energy. Damaged proteins will be replaced, converted and burned as fuel. But before any of that happens the toxic buildup of Omega 6 has to be reduced. I don't understand this process entirely but it does deplete calcium levels, making work difficult, which in turn makes fasting difficult, which then gives you diabetes. Phew, that's a mindful!

I'm hoping someone more knowledgeable can fill in some of the blanks for me.

Side note: Here's the alcohol molecule in your glass of wine.

https://preview.redd.it/ebf4rh8qu1xd1.png?width=348&format=png&auto=webp&s=856028c94aa235b58c1b9d6f3a7158728672a22c

It's all the same three elements. This formation just happens to get you drunk, and will kill you stone dead immediately when taken in excess. So drink less and be merry more.

ONAD and Breastfeeding?

Wanted to see if anyone has had success doing this? I am 7 weeks postpartum and miss the way I felt while doing OMAD. If I still hit my calories daily, by eating the one time.. will it effect my milk supply?

Is it possible to lose 20kg in 40 days doing OMAD?

Im currently 95kg 177cm 18YO. I plan to eat once a day at 6pm 0 carbs just protein veggies and fruits. Is it possible to lose 20kg in 40days. I have lost 0.5kg a day for a week before when I was an athlete exercising quite alot and was 78kg in march. Now I plan for 45mins in the gym everyday. Also I have done 3 day water fast before and I might do it nearing the end. I know it might not be safe for such intense weight loss in a short period of time, but i just want to know is it possible? Im willing to do whatever it takes to lose the weight given my limitations and I know I wont falter for just these 40days by suddenly binging or anything so can it be done? Also Im not aiming to lose 20kg of fat just 20kg of weight and just till the end of this 40days not planning to keep it up after that.

Not seeing results.

I been trying really hard it’s been 3 weeks. Since I first started OMAD I pair it with Intermittent fasting and only eat in the evenings, I drink coffee and water throughout the day.

I look the same!

Thinking of cutting back few carbs and going full chicken and broccoli and a protein shake for a full omad meal.

The protein shake will be on those days I go to the gym. What do you guys think?

Switching up eating window

Hey everyone so I've been OMAD for a while now and although I don't follow the lifestyle to a T like I did when I first started I'm looking into following a more OMAD strict diet. Anyways I'm a big breakfast person, that's usually when I open my window from like 8am-12pm. However recently I've started a new job in home health and I don't feel super comfortable eating at the house because everyone has rules in their home (understandable) but I feel like I can't really enjoy my meals at someone else's home, PLUS since it's Healthcare I'd rather stay as clean as possible in case of emergency. So I was thinking about instead of me eating in the morning and noon. Maybe I can start eating dinner and home instead? I'm not super hyped about it i feel like saving my meal until the end of the day might mess with my sleep and could affect my weight. But what are your suggestions? Like I said the latest I've ever closed my eating window has been 6pm pre omad and I guess I could still get home and close my window at 6pm but my body would have some adjusting to do. Any tips or advice? Please be nice
