Hello everyone! I am the new mod. I have really big hopes and dreams for this community.

I strongly believe in resource-sharing and that crowdsourcing resources helps everyone!

I’m going to be updating the community rules soon to add some more structure as well as create an AutoMod. As the community grows and I learn what does and doesn’t work for us, I will adjust the rules accordingly. For this first step, however, I will be implementing a zero-tolerance spam policy. If spam is posted, please report it. I will automatically ban the user and, if applicable, the website they are advertising.

I know there aren’t many of you still active here, but I hope to change that! If you have any questions or concerns, do feel free to reach out to me. Be warned I do work full-time on top of this so replies may take a minute!

I plan to reach out to academic and academic-adjacent communities to let them know we exist and can hopefully bring some value to mutual members.

I became a mod of this small subreddit by circumstance, wanting to help out with styling as a "fun thing to do" as a teen. It never really grew, and neither did the mod team.

The only other mod hasn't been active on Reddit for 7 years (way back when it was reddit), and the most subs/posters left academia.

It didn't have any posts that aren't spam in years. I've ended up restricting posting to save existing subscribers from spam, as I didn't have the time to clean up abandoned subs people are using for backlinking.

If you believe that this is something you'd want to take over - if you believe in this idea and would like to do that at this very sub, feel free to get in touch.

If you are a real, honest user of this site who wishes to create a community of sharing notes, I'll gladly hand the keys over to you.
