I don't think any of them have internet access, seeing as this subreddit did not exist before I chose to create it. It is set aside for a future in which the North West Territories, Canada has internet access.

Working on some sort of analysis on merchant names on bank statements. Noticed that there's this grocery store merchant called Inuvik from Northwest Territories. But I can't find any store with that name in Northwest Territories by googling.
Any of you local folks know which store would come in under the name Inuvik on bank statements?
Thank you in advance.
Hello. I am compiling a list of online stores that provide free shipping to various communities across the NWT (Outside of Yellowknife). What are some digital storefronts that you know of that provide free shipping to your community, and what is the minimum dollar amount required to qualify for free shipping from that store?
The data will be made into a Google Docs spreadsheet that will be publicly available.
Thanks!

Hello NWT! I have a survey regarding flood-risk information that is seeking participants throughout the Northwest Territories because of recent flood events, notably Hay river last spring and would appreciate insights from northern communities facing flood-risks. I am hoping there will be interest! Feel free to share. There is a draw for $100 for participating!

Hello!
I am currently a second-year student in linguistics at McGill University (Montreal), and have decided to complete a project about Canadianisms and Canadian Vocabulary for my Canadian English class this semester (Prof. Charles Boberg). Our goal is to see if the data has changed since the last North American Regional Vocabulary Survey (NARVS) in (Boberg, 2005). We want to see if the growing consumption of foreign media could have affected our Canadian English language in recent years.
It would really help my teammate and I if you could complete our short survey consisting of 29 questions about demographics, consumption of media, and Vocabulary. It should not take more than 10-15 minutes to complete.
Don't hesitate to let me know if you have any questions!
Thank you!
Wondering if anyone has any suggestions for a few distinguished field guides which cover primarily the North (ie. boreal forest through to tundra kind of thing).
Thanks!
I know where I am, in Northern Alberta, prices for food are going up. I'm just curious, in the far north, how are you all doing with regards to food. Does the produce and fruit last? Or is it overpriced rotting food?
Another election is coming up. If you were born in the US, or are the child of an American, you're allowed to vote.
Those of us living in Canada often forget what our families and friends back in the States are dealing with. Many of us have been lucky to go abroad for a better life. Whether you came here in the 60s or yesterday, we still have a connection to that crazy place, along with the voting rights to try and make it a bit better. It takes a modicum of effort from us, but we owe it to them, and to the world, to submit a piece of paper once a year and do our part to make a world we want to live in.
After you register, you can sign up to get future reminders.
By the way, if one of your parents was American, that makes you an American. You can also vote.
If you know any Americans, they would really appreciate a reminder.
Hi,
I am a MacEwan University marketing graduate doing a funded research project on the best way to go about making police reforms in Canada. The research is funded by the Canadian government, but I am providing the research findings to a not-for-profit organization that is lobbying for police reform.
Below are some reasons to participate in the survey:
If you would like to help the not-for-profit organization in their efforts to improve our community, please find the link to the survey below. It should take you 5-10 minutes to complete.

I understand that the medical infrastructure there is not the best but almost 2 years into the pandemic and with 91% vaccinations rate (single dose for ppl 5+), I feel that it is a bit of an overkill. I have been wanting to travel there for a while but can't. Any thoughts?
Hi everyone, myself and a team of fourth year university engineering students from Queen's University are working on a conceptual design of a National Electricity Grid. This survey will help us to determine metrics to focus on in our design. If you have the time, we would really appreciate if you could fill it out. Thank you!
Researchers from the University of Victoria are looking for participants for a study examining mental health during the COVID-19 pandemic, and are interested in the perspective of individuals living in northern Canada. We are asking people to complete a short questionnaire to better understand how the coronavirus is affecting us all and its impact on our day to day lifestyle. We hope to find out what is helpful for people during this time and also what may be causing some people to be affected more than others in terms of their wellbeing.
You could win one of ten $50 gift cards for your participation.
This study will take approximately 15 minutes to complete. For more information and to complete the survey, please click on this link: https://uvic.ca1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_6sbOZXBai7rXVjw

Takes no more than five minutes, looking for people from Nunavut and Northwest Territories, people of colour especially encouraged! Deadline is end of today, 19/06/2018. Thanks so much.
I see this subreddit is rather tiny so i will also post this in the Yellowknife sub. I am currently in Yellowknife for a couple of days but i was wondering whereabouts public land in the area is located? I am wanting to backwoods camp to cut down costs but i obviously don't want to sleep on someones land by accident. I am rather ignorant on the laws around public land use and google hasnt been helping me. Is it similar to the provinces?
I'm from alberta, which is close enough, but i hope all nine of you see this and start people paying attention to it.
With Ice Pilots, Ice Road Truckers, Diamonds and the Aurora Borealis why is there no sub-reddit for the NWT!?
