Happy Canada Day! What do you think of the roster? https://canadasoccer.com/news/canada-soccer-and-canadian-olympic-committee-unveil-womens-national-team-roster-for-the-paris-olympic-games/
Halifax is the first team to launch merch
My first impression is that the NSL should be able to attract higher level women's talent than the CPL does in regards to men's talent.
And not having competition in Toronto, Vancouver and Montreal (in the way the CPL has MLS) should make those franchises successful?
I feel Halifax should show the same support to a women's team, like they do with the Wanderers.
A little concerned for Calgary, Ottawa. But hopefully, those places do better for the women's clubs then they do the men's. Calgary imo seems to be dropping off in CPL attendance... Ottawa doing alright atm?
My hope is that the NSL is a different beast - that does a little better than the CPL for attendance.
Ideally I hope the CPL and NSL help each other grow. Personally, I would prefer that the NSL is on OneSoccer too.
Any NSL dedicated supporters groups out there?
We have one in Calgary that launched in the winter, Wild Roses. Foot Soldiers support as well but Wild Roses are dedicated primarily to the NSL club. https://www.instagram.com/thewild_rosessg/
Who else is out there?
I'm excited about attending games and interested to see where teams will play their matches. I would love to hear everyone's thoughts!
