So my bf has a shirt from this clothing store in Rockport MA called “Wharf Rat Trading Co” that he loves the logo of (long story short he just loves rats and rat-themed stuff lol). I want to get him a sweatshirt from the same store as a Christmas gift, but we live on the West coast and they don’t do online sales or anything.
If anyone here lives in Rockport and would be down to buy+ship me a Wharf Rat sweatshirt, I’d cover the cost, shipping, and a fee for your time!
FYI, traffic backup on Walnut Street, Saugus, heading to the route 1 overpass. More than usual due to a Fascist rally on the overpass. I didn't honk in protest as they see that as a ssign of support, instead I rolled down my driver's side window and gave the Fascists a thumbs down.
Just moved to Beverly. Looking for a good sports bar to watch college football on Saturdays. What are your favorites?
I don't want to roast it myself. I know Whole Foods has them but I'm wondering if there are other options to choose from. A lot of search results seem to be for raw turkeys that need to be cooked at home.
Hello! I’m from North Andover and I’ve been trying to find a good tattoo artist somewhere nearby (like 30mins-1hr away) but truly don’t even know where to start. I’m looking for someone who would be good at small, realistic, fine line art. For reference I’m trying to get a couple of birds on my arms. I would love some recommendations on artists or even just places to find artists. Thank you!
Went to the mall this Saturday. If I were a vendor there, I'd be planning on moving out. I give that mall two years max before it's brought down and condo's built or does anyone know what other plans are slated for that location? Because that mall is finished.
That is all
Anyone have any info? It’s super smokey outside.
Seeing a big black plume of smoke near Merrimac river. Any news???
I know a place in Salem but that town is currently a zoo so are there any other places that carry sausages, rashers, black & white pudding? I know of a place in Melrose too but I'd prefer a place closer to home in Gloucester
Anyone have any suggestions for a nice dinner for an important anniversary around the Northshore for tomorrow night?
We are semi adventurous eaters, love seafood. Mild gluten intolerance. Doesn’t have to be expensive but don’t mind paying a bit more for a quality meal and service. Our usuals are Serenitee restaurants, Soma, Toscana, Farnhams. Really liked Talise in Gloucester but doubtful I’d get reservations on short notice.
Thank you for any suggestions!
Planning on making prime rib instead of Turkey this year. Feeding 5 adults and 3 kids (6-10 y/o). I'm planning on reverse searing.
Can anyone recommend:
Also open to any recipe/technique suggestions you guys have. I'm going to prep/season the day before I cook it.
Hey everyone, I moved here recently and am looking for suggestions. I don’t have a boat yet (looking to get a kayak soon) so in the meantime I am wondering where the best places to fish are that have good public bank access. Appreciate any recommendations!
Does anyone have recommendations for DJs that also double as MCs for weddings in the Gloucester area?
If it impacts the answer, I’m getting married next September in a mostly outdoor venue (next to a building, the dance floor is likely inside a building with two walls fully exposed to the outside.
Budget is hard to say, but roughly $1.5-2k; 125ish person wedding.
Hi, everyone. Curious about the North Shore's political atmosphere. What's the vibe? How is it similar and different to Boston's? Very progressive? Mixed? I know the stats but sometimes stats don't tell you everything. Especially interested in Marblehead. Thanks.
Hi Reddit fam. Can anyone recommend an awesome nail technician who excels in gel dip? Looking for someone in the north shore preferably Revere, Winthrop, or East Boston or somewhere near these towns. I loved Lili at Beauty Nails and Spa in East Boston but last time I went they said she doesn’t work there anymore. I was soooo disappointed. ☹️ I appreciate any tips you can share. Thank you!
The North Shore Nerf Club’s Fall War is coming up on Saturday, November 9th at Camp Dennison in Georgetown, MA! This will be a full day event, starting at 10AM (but you can arrive earlier to prep your blasters!) to around 5PM, or whenever the sun starts to set. We plan for a lunch break around 1 or 2PM. We will provide some water and drinks to players to make sure they stay hydrated and ready to play.
We have also reserved the site for the next day, Sunday, November 10th, for a 5v5 tournament led by the Nashua Bone Guard Blaster Squad! Tournament rounds are set to begin at 10AM and end around 3PM with the Elimination Finals. There will also be casual games going on for those not taking part in the tournament.
There is a $20 registration fee for each day. BANE members do not have to pay the event registration fees because it is included with your membership! The North Shore Nerf War is restricted to ages 13 and up. All players and player guardians will need to sign a waiver before taking part in the Fall War and any other events hosted by the North Shore Nerf Club and the other BANE clubs.
For anyone who might need a place to stay overnight for the event, Camp Dennison has cabins available for the weekend. They are $50 per night and sleep up to six (6) people. The cabins have electricity, but are unheated, and you will need to bring a sleeping pad and any blankets. Reach out to NSNC staff if you have any questions!
The General Event Rules, Blaster Classifications, Tournament rules, and the Event Registration form can all be found at the link below. (DON’T FORGET TO FILL OUT YOUR WAIVER!)

Best place to find fresh corn or flour Tortillas?
We're moving to the North Shore and are thinking about doing daycare for our dog a couple of times a week. I'm curious if people have any dog daycares (north of Salem) they've had good or bad experiences with. The ones I'm considering so far are Dingos and Four Leggers in Beverly and Barn Dog Daycamp in Essex.
What are some of the best places to eat in the Beverly area? Somewhat new to the area and looking for great options for dine-in and takeout!
For dinner. We'll be passing thru at the end of the month before we go to Salem. What are some top dinner spots for a picky eater? Standard pub fare, Italian, American, easy stuff. Also, any good specialty cocktail places?
Thanks for all your help. You were all so helpful with my last post, don't let me down.
I live in Revere and we are surrounded by communities that have approved adult use cannabis businesses. Revere has one license in a commercial zone area that is never going to be out to use because the owner of the license can’t raise the funds to get the business going. So, the city is trying to expand the zoning ordinance to allow at least one, maybe two additional licenses so we can attract a cannabis operation and drive revenue for the city.
Every community around us has a location or two in operation. I’m even getting direct mail promoting locations in the next town over.
So to my question, do you live in a community where there is an operational, adult use cannabis location and what is your opinion of it (opinions can vary to location, safety, revenue the community gets, etc al). Appreciate your thoughts. Thx.
